Seven Fatalities, Dozens of Injuried in Minneapolis I-35W Bridge Collapse;

Breaking Newsupdated: 11:03pm EST A major bridge on Interstate 35W that spans the Mississippi River and connects the twin cities - Minneapolis and St. Paul - has collapsed. NBC News is reporting that seven people have died in the collapse and dozens have been injuried, some critically. The cause for the collapse is not yet known, according to Minnesota State Patrol. The bridge has apparently broken apart in three different sections leaving some people stranded and unreachable as the sun goes down in Minneapolis.Dozens of cars and trucks have been burned, crushed by slabs of concrete or submerged in the chilly, strong currents of the Mississippi River.Two of the four lanes of the bridge were closed for construction work at the time of the collapse. GERMANY - A mad squirrel went on a rampage and attacked and injured three people before a 72-year-old granny smacked it into submission with her cane.The squirrel first entered a home in Passau, a small town in southern Germany and jumped up on an unsuspecting 70-year-old woman and sank it's teeth into her hand, a local police spokesperson said. The terrorized elderly woman ran into the street with the squirrel still attached to her hand, a local police spokesman said Thursday.After that the squirrel apparently ran into a building site and attacked a construction worker who was bitten in the hand and arm. The worker managed to fight off the mad squirrel with a measuring pole. Police say the squirrel then entered "the 72-year-old man's garden and massively attacked him on the arms, hand and thigh," the spokesman said. Logger Cuts Off His Own Leg After Pinned Under Tree

A California logger near Roseville remarkably and bravely cut off his leg below the knee with a pocket knife in the small Gold Rush town of Iowa Hill in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.Al Hill, a 66-year-old man from Iowa Hill, is recovering at the Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, California but is in serious condition, hospital spokesperson Robin Montgomery said.Hill was in a remote area near the Big Dipper Mine when a tree fell on and pinned his leg, according to Iowa Hill's volunteer fire chief Luana Downling. Hill had a cell phone but no reception. After 11 hours, he resorted to amputating his leg below the knee, according to Downling.Logging is listed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and OSHA as one of the most dangerous occupations in the United States.

Bevis and Butthead Artist Releases "Office Space" Original Animated Short

Mike Judge, who made his big hit with MTV's "Beavis & Butthead", produced an animated short film of "Office Space " years before it was even consider for a feature length movie.The film has since its 1999 release grown into a cult classic of the drudgeries of daily office work and bosses who do little else then ego-trip off the vulnerabilities of others.But Milton does get his ultimate revenge. The animated short here, clearly similar to Bevis and Butthead, shows Milton talking out his treasured stapler and what will happen if it is taken away from him again.Nowadays, office jokes around the country about "Milton" usually always refer to the movie "Office Space " which has joined the likes of other cult classics like "Animal House" or "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."Too bad Milton doesn't have his own MySpace page. Man Bites Off Wife's Lip After She Calls Him Short

SAN MATEO, California — A man who allegedly bit off his wife's lip after she called him short has rejected a plea offer and will instead go to trial next month, according to the Associated Press.Police charged Akano Nzerem, 54, of South San Francisco, with felony counts of domestic violence, mayhem, false imprisonment, battery and making criminal threats. He also faces a count of child endangerment.Prosecutors contend that Nzerem pushed aside his teenage daughter and grabbed his wife in a "bear hug" at which time he allegedly bite off her bottom lip. Police recovered the severed lip from the floor of the Nzerem's home, but surgeons were unable to reattach it. The incident stemmed from an argument in which Nzerem's wife called him "short", Steve Wagstaffe, chief deputy district attorney for San Mateo County said. Residents of Polk County, Florida : Lock your doors and shut your windows, there are condom thieves on the loose. That's right, detectives and police in Polk County, Florida are fervently searching for two young men, one of whom is accused of stealing a box of Trojan condoms from a Sears store in Lakeland on May 13. The police have posted Crime Stoppers leaflets (at the right) throughout the county, and have appealed for the public's help in finding these two dangerous men armed with deadly prophylactics. The leaflet displays a still picture from the store's surveillance camera which shows two young white males with one of the men apparently holding in his hand the box of Trojan condoms he is accused of stealing.Apparently, it is an emergency when a box of condoms is stolen in Lakeland, Florida.
