Shatter Balls?

Yes it another post about another one of my websites. The website of the day is ShatterBalls .com. A shatter ball is a fun gag for sports junkies. The shatter ball applies to glass. It makes it look like a ball has hit the glass, and shattered the glass. Most shatter balls are made out of real balls. It is a cheep item that is just a lot of fun. What Is A Bunt Sock?

I am sure you don’t know the answer to this one. A Bunt Sock is a training aid for softball & baseball. BuntSock.com is another one of my websites. In case you have not figured it out yet. I am on a roll of telling people about my different websites. Not only is BuntSock.com a website of mine, I personally invented the Bunt Sock. I use to coach youth softball, and I found many players needed help with the basic skill of bunting. That led me to invent the Bunt Sock. It is a great training aid, so if you know any baseball, or softball players that need help with their bunting skills tell them about the Bunt Sock.

The New iPitch For The Iphone

The iPitch is our newest app for the iPhone. The iPitch is not what you are use to seeing from Podcast Pickle. It is an app focused more on our core business. If you do not know, our core business is baseball and softball sporting goods items. Two of our most profitable websites are SoftballJunk.com and BaseballJunk.com. The Ipitch is a simple pitch counter. If you are not familiar with youth baseball or softball you may not be aware of pitchers restrictions. In many little leagues, a pitcher can only throw a certain amount of pitches in a game. This is an attempt to prevent coaches from over using their best pitchers, and causing permanent damage to their arms. People also track pitches since the more time you throw the more tired your arm gets. The more tired your arm gets the less effective your throws are. Pickle Mobile Is Hot

It seems that changing Pickle Mobile into a layout that works well on the iPhone was a great idea. The amount of people using Pickle Mobile has increased a thousand fold. I am sure being the first podcast directory listed on Apples iPhone Apps Website is why. It seems that I am not alone in thinking that it provides a great way to find podcasts on the go. In case you are not aware of what Pickle Mobile consist of. It has the top 100 audio, and the top 100 video podcast. All podcasts show any reviews that have been submitted on Podcast Pickle for these casts. With Pickle Mobile You also have the ability to add reviews to any podcast right from your iPhone. Podcasters Are Not Using Podcast Pickle

Ever since our last update of The Pickle , I have noticed a slow but growing trend. The percentage of our users that are podcasters is shrinking, but our poge views and amount of users are actually growing. We just seem to be getting more and more listners/viewers that are using the site. When we built the last update, our goal was to be more user friendly to non podcasters. Our main goal was to make it easier to find podcasts of interest. Saying our search function was not the best is being kind. So we added google search to the site. Since google searches both the podcasts, and the forums it was a major improvement, Then we added a Tag Cloud. We put a mini cloud on the bottom of the front page. The main Tag Cloud is accessed by the word Tag next to our search box. We then decided that we need to break vidcasts out from podcasts, so we created three main section. Section 1 is all podcasts, both audio and video. Section 2 is all audio podcasts, Section 3 is all video podcasts. Then w...

Second Life and IBM are joining forces to build a better avatar. An Avatar that can go from one virtual world to another. Maybe in the near future you can use one avatar in Second Life, There.com or even World Of Warcraft. How cool would that be to go from one virtual world to another, while keeping your same identity and same avatar. I don’t actually know what it takes to make this happen, but I hope it happens soon. Yes Another Podcast

It is true. I am starting another podcast. This podcast is about something close to my heart. The subject is girls fastpitch softball. Thats right girls fastpitch softball. I doubt you are aware of the fact that I coached my daughters fastpitch softbal team. The team was named Da’Bomb, and we played from 1998 to 2002. During that time we won 2 Texas State Championships, and came 5th and 4th in national chanpionship tournaments. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association awarded me their Victory Award for winning over 300 games during this time. Now my daughter is a senior in college , and I have not coached a softball game in almost 4 years. I do still love the game, and have a passion for it. I am stuck to the TV every year for the College World Seriers of Softball. I also can’t wait to watch the US Softball Team win again in the Olympics. With all the talk about the new iPhone, I decided it was time to really make Pickle Mobile into something of value to iPhone users. In the past your personal playlist was the only thing on Pickle Mobile. This week we have added the Top 100 audio podcasts, and the top 100 vidcasts. We have also added our reviews feature, so now you can add reviews to the podcasts from pickle mobile. You can also read the last 100 reviews now at pickle mobile. My goal is to make Pickle Mobile into a great tool for podcast listening. If you can think of any features we need to add, please let me know.

No More Of My Podcasts

I am not longer posting any of my podcast episodes on this blog. It seems that I am doing more podcasts at this time than in the past. Because of this my blog was just turning into a listing of my podcast episodes. That is not what I had in mind when I started this blog. New Voting System Coming To The Pickle

Soon you will see a complete revamp of how the top 100 is calculated at PodcastPickle .com. One of the first things we are changing is we will no longer zero out the My Playlist votes (previously called my favorites) twice a year. Once you add a podcast to your playlist, they will remain on your playlist until you remove them. The Top 100 will be calculated from several different factors. Among them are the My Playlist Picks, The Reviews, Subscriptions, Episodes Played, and the Podcaster Tree . The new system will also take into account how long it has been since a listner has been to PodcastPickle.com. The longer the time since a listeners last visit, the lower their input counts. We are going to attempt to build an unbiased ranking system of what the top 100 shows are according to our users. As always I am interested in your thoughts

The Return Of The Podcaster Tree

I have to admit it took us a while to rebuild the Podcaster Tree , and to make it work with the new database. Some people may cay too long, but we finally have the tree up and live again. You can access the main page of the tree at www.PodcasterTree.com. This page allows you to see the Top 10 Influential Podcasts, along with 20 random podcasts. YOu can use this page to start cruising the branches of the tree. On every podcast pickle page there is now a tab that says tree. If you want to see that podcasts tree, or add a podcast that inspired you, do so from their tree. If you look at the tree for you podcast, you will notice there are 2 buttons. One to add podcasts to your tree as influences, and another button in case you need to remove one. I really did love the tree, and that is why we brought it back to the site. I hope you enjoy it too.
