The Next Step In Reviews At PodcastPickle.com
2007-09-04 04:02:00 You may have noticed that I am developing PodcastPickle .com into a place to find podcast reviews. We created a great feed for People to use. It is http://podcastpickle.com/feed/export.php? type=reviews. If you use a feed reader like Google Reader or such, I think you will agree with me that it is a great tool. It makes it very easy to keep up with podcast reviews at Podcast Pickle. I still keep getting the same request over and over. It seems that many people are just too busy to read the reviews on their computer. For these busy people we are going to start P. Dillys Podcast Reviews . It will be a daily podcast, or 5 days a week I should say. P. Dillys Podcast Reviews will consist of me reading 5 to 10 podcast reviews every weekday. I will read the reviews, tell who revieved it, and give a little info on the podcast. Here is the link to the new shows pickle page http://www.podcastpickle.com/casts/2/. I hope you subscribe and find it a useful tool for podcast discovery. I also hope ... More About: Step

I Guess I Better Keep Blogging
2007-09-03 18:35:00 Did you know that Friday the 31st of August was blog day? I admit that I did not personally know this. Actually I did not even know there was a blog day. I found out quite by accident. I received a Google alert this morning from Blogger & Podcaster Magazine’s blog page. That is where I found out about blog day. I read the blog post explaining how Blog Day was a great opportunity to recommend blogs. They even had their staff picks of their favorite blogs. I have to say I was excited to see my blog on the list. Adam Rainer had picked my blog (pdillys.com) as one of his favorite blogs. I actually was excited to see this, since I just started blogging about 4 months ago. Since I am a newbie at blogging it really meant a lot to me. Adam thank you for the compliment you gave me by picking my blog for your list. I am really pumped and more motivated than ever to continue. Thank You Adam More About: Blogging , Guess

2007-08-27 21:32:00 During the next few weeks I will experiment with UStream.TV. I will start embedding their video code onto my Pickle Page at PodcastPickle.com. Podcasting Started A New Media Revolution
2007-08-13 19:55:00 To say I am very involved with the new media called podcasting would be an understatement. I have been involved since what we might call the early days. I was not when the first podcast was recorded, but I was there a few months later. I have seen the number of podcasts in the world grow from less than 100 to thousands. I still remember all the excitement in the podcasting community when iTunes added podcasts to their music store. Who can forget the buzz when Sirius radio added podcasts from Podshow to one of their channels? Then to top it all off, Video Podcasting came and another form of media was born. Yes, indeed I have seen a tremendous amount of growth in this new media called podcasting, but as someone once said, you ain’t seen nothing yet. I don’t claim to know the future. I think I can safely predict that the world of media is going to rock the planet. Will we recognize media in 10 years? Is the change going to be so drastic, that it is will look as differen... New Neighbors At Podcast Island In Second Life
2007-08-08 17:53:00 Yes we have 2 new neighbors on Podcast Island . I hope this is the start of a trend of new media companies moving to the island. Our first new neighbor was Blogger & Podcaster Magazine. Their newly completed tower stands tall for all to see. Not only do they have a beautiful new tower, but they are also hosting a Podcaster meet the first Monday of every month. All meetups will have a guest speaker, and this months speaker was Eric Rice aka Spin Martin. Join us next month for Jason Van Horn author of the book Promoting Your Podcast. The other new neighbor is Wizard Software. There building is still in the construction stages. You can recognize it by the giant pair of headphones it is wearing. The building has a great holodeck upstairs that needs to be seen to appreciate. You can play a podcast and the podcast surrounds you. The look of the building lets you know that it is a podcaster friendly. Both building were built by Itazura Radio, our local super builder. Coming soon to... Reviews For Riches
2007-07-31 18:22:00 So do you have a favorite podcast? How would you like to help them out, and maybe win $100 for yourself? That’s right $100 for yourself. Starting August 10th 2007 at 2PM Central time The Reviews for Riches Contest will start. Podcast Pickle will award $100 each week to one lucky person. Every week for 4 weeks podcast pickle will award this prize. How do I enter should be your next question. Just add a review to any podcast at PodcastPickle.com. Every time you add a review you are automatically entered into the weekly contest. Yes, it is that easy. You help out your favorite podcast by reviewing them, and you help yourself to a chance at $100. That’s what I call a win-win situation. The following are the ground rules for the Reviews for Riches Contest: Enter as many times as you like. Each review must be 29 words or more. No copy and pasting the same review for multiple shows. Since this is our contest, we have the final say on what we consider to be a legitimate review....
Goodbye To The Favorites System
2007-07-27 01:15:00 Yes, we are doing away with the favorites system at Podcast Pickle. For any one who may not be familiar with the Favs system, you can find out more about it by reading this previous blog about it. Ok, I am not being totally honest; we may be saying goodbye to The Favor ite s but we are now introducing My Playlist. To be completely truthful we are just renaming this feature. From now on we will call this feature My Playlist. Instead of asking someone to add you as a favorite, you would now ask them to add you to their playlist. Over the next few weeks we will be changing all the links on Podcast Pickle to read My Playlist. I felt that many people did not understand the Favs system. The term add me to your Favs may not really give you a good idea as to what it was. People may say to themselves that is not my favorite podcast. In my opinion, the term add me to your playlist makes way more sense. When you see add me to your Playlist, your next question will probably be where do I pl... The iPhone
2007-07-10 17:24:00 The news is that Apple may have sold as many as 750,000 iPhones already. That is great for Apple, and for the people who bought them. The podcast world seems very excited, and podcasters everywhere are trying to get their websites iPhone compliant. Yes indeed the podcasting world is very excited. I do have one question I would like to ask. Is it really all that big of a deal for podcasters? I read Twitters, blogs, and forum posts where people are getting their podcasting websites all IPhone friendly. They are making sure it is everything an iPhone wants to see. Not wanting to miss out on all the new listeners that will find their sites on the new iPhones. I then wonder out of 750,000 iPhone owners, how many are true podcast listeners? Out of that amount how many are surfing looking for podcasts on their iPhone versus just playing ones they already subscribe to? Out of that amount how many will find your podcasts out of the thousands upon thousands of podcasts out there to be f... More About: Iphone
Rebuilding The Pickle
2007-07-05 23:55:00 You may or may not know this, but recently we removed over 6000 podcasts from Podcast Pickle . They were removed for various reasons which were covered in a previous blog post, so I won’t go over that again. What I do want to talk about is what we are up to now. Rebuilding the Podcast Pickle Library of podcasts is currently our main focus. We have been adding shows we think are of interest such as shows from NPR, ESPN, CBS, ABC, etc. Yes these are corporate podcasts, not the independent podcasts we are known for. However, the fact is they are still podcasts, and they are worthy of being on my site. I don’t really know how this happened, but I have seem to lost a lot of my tunnel vision about my website. I have began looking at the site through a listeners eyes. The goal now is to draw listeners, where before it was to draw podcasters. My new thinking is if I have enough listeners using the site, podcasters will follow. Once I began, things started changing, and the adding o...
