We bought the Pickleman Mascot for Podcast Pickle with the idea in mind of having him travel to events, without me having to be there. I am happy to say that the folks at Podcamp San Antonio have done just that. They had us send them the Pickleman outfit, and have filmed a series of promos for Podcamp San Antionio using the Pickleman. I will post the videos as the are sent to me. My First Press Passes Using My Podcast

I had some great news today. As you may, or may not know I run a sporting goods company. Most of my business is from a softball division called SoftballJunk.com. I talked in a previous post how I started a podcast, and how I was bringing in new business to the company with this podcast. Now I am going to cover the Olympic Softball Team, when they play the National Pro Fastpitch Leagues All Star Team In Oklahoma City. You may not really care much about fastpitch softball, but I love it. For me this is really great. I am really excited to go see the game, much less get to cover it as a reporter for my podcast. I sent off for my press passes for the Big 12 Championships today, and The College World Series. I will let you know what kind of results I have with those. A few months ago I decided to start a video podcasts for one of my websites. The website was SoftballJunk.com, and the video podcast is Fastpitch TV. The idea behind Fastpitch TV is that I demonstrate different softball products, and training aids. Then I also help the viewer by telling them they can find the items at my websites. To my surprise, after a few weeks I had a customer say, hey your the guy on the videos. Then in the next few weeks more people told me they saw the videos, and how much they enjoyed them. Then last week two guys approached me in the store. They told me they lived in California, and were on layover for a few hours at the airport. They enjoyed my videos so they decided to come to my store in Texas while they were on layover, and buy some softball equipment. Guess what they spent almost $400.00 between the two of them. My Daughter Graduates From College Next Month

My oldest daughter Lauren will graduate from college next month. She attends The University Of Oklahoma. I have told her how proud I am of her, but I am not sure she really understands what I mean. About 20 years ago I did my family tree. I made it back as far as 1592 with the oldest of my kin arriving in America with the Puritans. The first record of a Leland coming to America that I found was in the mid 1700s. In my personal lineage of Leland Ancestors from the 1700s until now daughter Lauren will be the first Leland to graduate from college. Sure I have had relatives that graduated from college, like grandmother. She graduated from college, but she was not a Leland. My wife has her masters, but she is only a Leland by marriage. Yes Lauren will be the first one in my dierect family line to graduate from college. Wow, that is really weird and hard to believe, But I am so proud of her. The Podcast Island Blog Is Up

I had a pleasant surprise last week. When I opened my email, I had a message saying Podcast Island .com was available. I guess I had requested to be notified if it ever became available. I don’t remember setting up the notification, but I am glad I did. I am normally pretty good at buying the domain names of projects I am working on using DillDomains.com. I guess I just did not think about buying PodcastIsland.com when I started messing around in the virtual world of Second Life. For the longest time I kept waiting for someone to contact me, and tell me it was for sale. I figured they would ask me to buy it for a high price, but that never happened. Instead they just did not renew the domain. As you have probably guessed,I bought the domain. I have set up a blog, that will be used by the community and crew of Podcast Island to let the world know what is happening on Podcast Island. We have built another website for a baseball/softball training aid. The new website is for the Hit N Stick. The Hit n Stick is a training aid for baseball and softball players to practice hitting the ball. The beauty of the Hit N Stick is that no one has to chase the ball after it has been hit. I am going to SXSW again this year, so I thought I would post my schedule so any friends of mine that are attending could give me a shout out about hooking up while I am there. On Sat. the 8th I will arrive around 11 am and stay most of the day. I have nothing planned as of yet. On Monday the 10Th I will be there most of the day. I am speaking with Mark Linder about Second Life. Then I will return with the Pickleman Mascot on Sat. the 15th for the day. If you are gonna be there give me a shout and we can hook up. As you probably know I am pretty involved in fastpitch softball, so I was excited Sunday when I came up with an idea for a domain name I owned. Somtime ago I bought the domain name Fastpitch.TV. I really did not know what I was gonna do with it, I just bought it. Well I was looking at YouTube Sunday, in search of fastpitch softball videos. What a mess! I mean I had to look through a 100 videos of no value to find 1 video of value. That’s when it hit me. Lets use Fastpitch.TV to put videos of value into categories. Phone Junk For Your iPhone And More

I seem to be on a trend of making iphone apps. I have made three, and am working on a fourth. I assume I will continue with apps for the gPhone when it comes out. I enjoy using and making phone apps. I decided to make a phone app website. Thats right I made another website. PhoneJunk .com is our newest website. At the moment it only has iPhone apps on it, but I will add other apps to the database soon. I will also add gPhone apps as when the gPhone comes out. I am even thinking of adding a forum to it, so people can share info about phone apps. It still needs a little work as of today, but it is ready to use. My website of the day is Podcast Junk . On Podcast Junk we sell junk, like iPod covers, podcast books, and some Podcast Pickle stuff. The most interesting items we sell are the Podcaster Swag items. There is actually some great stuff in there. Scott Sigler’s The Rookie gear is great, and great selling. We are adding other podcasters soon. Another great section is the personalized gear. We will make shirts, and junk just for you. For the most part, Podcast Junk is just a fun site, to get some great podcast gear. We actually make all the gear right here in our own shop, and ship it to the buyers. Podcasters make a commision on all sales of their items.

I thought I would change things up a bit today. Instead of talking about one of my websites. I thought I would talk about Reviews . In particular podcast reviews, and how the review section at Podcast Pickle has taken off. I am personally enjoying reading the new reviews everyday, and I want to make sure you can enjoy it too. It seems people are finally discovering, and using The Pickle Review Section. In case you are not familiar with how the review section works I am going to go over it for you. 1. To make a review go any podcast page on PodcastPickle.com and click on the review tab. There you will can add a review about any show. Any show except your own that is. 2. The review will appear on the review section of the podcast is was written for. 3. The review will go on the front page of PodcastPickle.com. You will see it on the lower left. It will stay there until another review is submitted. 4. The review will be listed on PickleReviews.com The last 100 reviews can be see there....
