Jay-Z's Club Sued By Peers

Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, and Kanye West suing Jay-Z? Well not exactly. The artists aren't suing Young Hova but his 40/40 club.A federal lawsuit has been filed claiming that Jay's 40/40 club neglected to pay royalties to more than a dozen artists and music publishers. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for copyright infringement. An employee of BMI (who is suing on behalf of Jackson and Kelly) visited the club in March 2006 and discovered seven unlicensed songs being played including  Michael Jackson?s ?Billie Jean,? R. Kelly?s ?Thoia Thoing,? and Kanye West's ?Gold Digger.? The 40/40 club, which is a public venue, must pay royalties for recordings played during club hours. Michael Shen, a lawyer for the club, said he has not yet seen the lawsuit and declined further comment.

The actress tells In Touch Weekly magazine about her decision to bare it all, "As you get older, you get more comfortable in your skin. It was the perfect time for me to do Playboy. Who knows what I'll look like when I'm done." The 40-year-old actress and her husband, talent agent Mike Nilon, are expecting twins later this year. This will be the couples first children together; Garcelle has an older son from a previous marriage.

Madden 08 Debut Brings Out Celebrities

Stacy Keibler, Kevin Frazier and Jamie Dukes rally before A big game against Matt LeinartTHEBLENDED.COM was at the star studded Xbox 360 Madden 08 party in Los Angeles last night and the game looks and feels awesome. We had the chance to sit down and play a couple games against the Indianapolis Colts' defensive end Dwight Freeney. Freeney elected to run with the Colts while THEBLENDED.COM kept it in Cali and ran with the Chargers. The only distraction during the game came from John Salley heckling us but that had no impact as THEBLENDED.COM's staff pulled off the victory. Now things got really interesting when Iron Mike Tyson entered the party. Everyone seemed to just freeze up. Mike is a very intimidating physically but but appeared on all fronts calm and accessible. Tyson lounged around on a black leather couch, took in a couple plays and then posed for pictures with people in the club. We caught up with LL Cool J at the BET Awards and asked him about his alleged feud with Def Jam president Jay-Z. LL recently recorded a track with 50 Cent, Prodigy, Kool G Rap and Tony Yayo called "Queenz Thing." On the track LL criticizes the current Def Jam administration.LL told THEBLENDED.COM "There's no beef between Jay and I. You know, he's the president of Def Jam and I expect Def Jam to handle my promotion the right way." You can read into that however you like. We know what he was insinuating without saying it.

Washington & NBC In Talks

Isaiah Washing ton has been in discussions with NBC about working on a show with the network. The talks have stalled and it is unclear whether or not Washington would be joining a new show or an existing one. Washington tells Entertainment Weekly that he and his agent "are sorting through a ton of offers in both film and TV ... There is one network in particular that's very interested, but I don't want to say anything specific until it's a done deal." Washington was fired from "Grey's Anatomy" recently and since then has taken his disappointment to the media. Washington has suggested that T.R. Knight should have been canned and not him.

Now for those of you who watch Charm School on a regular you're familair with the media episode in which Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier comes to the school to instruct the girls on media saavy. The show's badgirl Larissa and ET's Kevin Frazier did not quite see eye to eye about some media mishaps Larissa has committed in the past. There was definetely some tension in the air and following the class Larissa told the camera in an interview, "Kevin Frazier can kiss my ass."Well last night Kevin Frazier and Larissa bumped into each other and Kevin called her out. Larissa did not run from the challenge but assured Kevin it was nothing personal just her attempt to make good television. The two talked for a while and we were even nice enough to let THEBLENDED.COM snap a few pictures.

So word on the street is that there was some sort of award show that took place in Los Angeles yesterday. Wow! That is all we can say after spending a couple hours on the red carpet yesterday. You see celebrities on television and you're cognizant (at least we hope) that these people on our screens are transformed from average to the definition of beauty. The trailer for Will Smith's upcoming box office giant I Am Legend is out and this movie looks damn good. In Legend Smith plays the role of Robert Neville, a former military scientist who finds himself to be the only uninfected human in the world after a virus mutates out of control changing the world's population into vampires. I Am Legend is based on Richard Matheson's novel of the same name. The film is set to be released this December.

LL Cool J is blaming poor album sales on the management at Def Jam and the company's CEO Jay-Z. On a new track called "It's A Queens Thing" LL raps "I wish Rick and Russell was back I miss the old Def Jam/ 'Cause them new monkeys act like they don't know who I am/ The promotion and marketing wasn't worth a damn/ Now they on the balls again 'cause 50 my man?" Suge Sales Malibu Crib For $6.2 Million

Death Row founder Suge Knight has put his Malibu home on the real estate market as part of the rap music mogul's financial overhaul under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The 8,272-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion was listed earlier this month by Coldwell Banker at the bargain basement price of $6.2 million. Back in April 2006 Knight sought Bankruptcy protection for himself and Death Row Records claiming debts of more than $100 million. At the time Knight estimated personal assets of between zero to $50,000.  Knight seems to be recovering from his financial woes as he was recently spotted on the 101 freeway driving a brand new white Bentley. He also ponied over $3,121 for the chance to take in one of Prince's shows at the Roosevelt over the weekend.

The peace treaty between Ludacris and T.I. may have been voided today when a fight broke out in Los Angeles between T.I. and Luda's manger Chaka Zulu.According to reports the two gentlemen got into a physical altercation that included T.I. striking Zulu in the face. The two men were in Los Angeles to attend a luncheon held by Kevin Liles of Warner Music Group. Three hours into the event both men arrived and shortly thereafter the melee ensued. Suge Knight and Sean "Diddy " Combs sitting in the same room on the same couch sounds absolutely absurd but absurd was reality last night in Los Angeles. The musical genius that is Prince kicked off his priceless debut at the Roosevelt Saturday night and both Suge and Diddy and were there to take in the show. Knight, Diddy, Nas and Erykah Badu all shared a section of the intimate space where Prince played hits such as "Kiss" and "U Got The Look." At one point during the venue Prince came down to visit his hip-hop fans and offered the microphone to Nas who declined to rap but did offer "I love Prince."Although Diddy did check out early there was never any perceived tension between he and Knight. Just two old enemies taking in a hell of a show.

Brown Assaulted, Robbed and De-Weaved

Rapper Foxy Brown was the victim of a brutal attack over the weekend. Congrats Eddie! It's a girl! DNA test have confirmed that Eddie Murphy is the biological father of Melanie Brown's recently born baby girl. Melanie gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown in April and listed Eddie as the father on the infant's birth certificate. Murphy has never acknowledged paternity but promised to stand by Brown if the child did indeed prove to be his. "It is such a relief that this is finally over.
