American Idol: Top 6 (Take 2) with Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi week(Click the idol talk button to see more reviews!)I enjoy the master class sessions and seeing the artist coaching the idol hopefuls. You get to see a side that you don't see on stage or in music videos. I've never been a huge fan of Bon Jovi, but I grew up with their music (and their big hair) and had many memories pop into my thoughts.Jon told the idols that they needed to "wrap their arms around the lyrics 'cause they all told stories to a lot of people". I loved that statement. And, I guess I have enough memories around a couple of these songs for that statement to resonate true with me.After a ?bye? week in eliminations, the Idol hopefuls were singing for keeps tonight to make sure they weren't part of this week's double-elimination.Phil?Blaze of Glory?Strong vocals for Phil. American Idol Gives Back - Results Show (aka The Telethon)

Halfway through tonight's episode, Mr. TV Junkie said, "How can they send anyone home on a charity event night?"After a moment, I snarkily replied, "How could they do that unless they send TWO people home next week???"I guess we were both right.We watched the entire episode sans commercials until LOST kicked in on the DVR. For a charity night, the celebrity spots were entertaining. My personal favorite was seeing the children's choir who sang alongside Josh Groban. They were the cutest.As a parent, some of the images and stories were difficult to watch. I was reminded how blessed I am for the little things taken for granted - food on the table, good health and access to health care and excellent schools and teachers for my children.As one who is involved in cause marketing, the show producers did an amazing thing to further the American Idol brand and incorporating other large name sponsors. Inspirational Evening Recap -(Click the idol talk button to see more reviews!)To kick off Idol 's "Idol Gives Back" charity event, tonight's theme focused on songs of inspiration. The clips they showed of Ryan and Simon in Africa were very heartfelt. The Apprentice - Los Angeles, Finale

(Spoilers if you haven't watched the finale yet.)Although a fan of reality tv show, this season was the first time I caught Donald Trump's "The Apprentice ". I liked this season's twist in that it was held here in CA and in Los Angeles close to where I worked in Century City (a few blocks from Beverly Hills).Also, my mom would always share anecdotes from The Apprentice - how they solved a problem, set up a project, or how candidates handled team 'drama'. She thought it might come in useful during the required team projects I did for my MBA classes.So finally, I caught a few episodes this season (okay, just the premiere, last week's ep, and tonight's finale) and really enjoyed it! Tonight's final episode was held at the Hollywood Bowl (which holds favorite memories for me). I thought he'd take it all in stride if his name was called to go home. But, then again, Sanjaya's been riding such a huge media wave and has never been in the bottom three. It must have been a shocker to him. I mean, I was a bit shocked considering he hasn't been in the bottom three ever.As he was embracing LaKisha, I thought, "Wow, he's really crying over this." As Merlin lies dying, Daniel Jackson obtains some (yet to see how much) of Merlin?s knowledge and powers bestowed by Merlin himself.Meanwhile, the team is still being chased by Adria and the Ori. In this episode, Adria and the Ori catch up to SG-1, but Daniel Jackson saves them using his new powers from Merlin. Daniel Jackson, because of saving his team, is captured by Adria and the Ori. Not only was this week's Ford "Happy Together" commercial boring, it was creepy! What is with this week's Idol ??In addition to the results, the hour-long results show also included a 'doctored' clip of Tony Bennett auditioning for Idol (cute), on the street interviews with Ryan Seacrest, a Latin-flavored performance from the lovely J-Lo (they even brought out the fog for her), and updates and plugs for the charity publicity stunt "Idol Gives Back."With 35 million votes tallied (the highest count this season), Ryan revealed the bottom three:Bottom 3:Phil StaceyHaley ScarnatoChris Richardson (sent back to the couch!)The results did not come across as a surprise, even to the contestants. Latin Night Master Class with J-LoMelinda Doolittle"Sway"Didn't her hair look cute? When swept up and "poofed out", it adds more height and lengthens her look (if you know what I mean). BlakeGreat song choice for Blake to show of that he can sing in addition to his ultra-cool beatboxing and dancing. Fun start to the whole evening!PhilSorry Phil, but I'm getting a little bored. It was rough sounding in the beginning, but Phil's voice sounded warmed up by the chorus. I agree this week's genre was good for Phil and the song choice was okay. I'm just a California-native, wife and mom of 3 kids (aged 6, 3, 1).At the end of the day when the kids are finally in bed, I like to unwind with a glass of wine in the tub by watching a little TV with Mr. TV Junk ie. I have a wide interest in TV shows (some I'm too embarrassed to admit like The Hills!).Mr. TV Junkie likes Sci-Fi channel and I have come to enjoy his shows (Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG1 & Atlantis) and he now enjoys mine (24, American Idol, LOST, etc.).Since we added the DVR to our family, we watch more TV shows and fewer commercials. We can also watch at our leisure. Every once in awhile I see moments or hear quotes that I like about the shows.TV Shows that have story lines deep in anthology or mysteries or great writing are my favorites to blog about and I always wonder what others are thinking.
