There are many acne myths that have been passed down from generation to generation regarding information on the causes and treatment of acne. One conception is that acne is limited to those with ‘dirty’ skin and affects mainly teens eating junk food.   However this perception of dirty skin causing acne can be harmful to some acne sufferers who try too hard to clean their skin, only to cause more damage and in the process, increase the number of acne breakouts.   This is because if the skin is cleansed more than 2 or 3 times a day, in 24 hours, then your skin dries out. This is turn leads to an increased secretion of oil which in turn leads to an acne attack. This may lead to a cyclic attack of acne that worsens the health of your skin.   Another myth that the diet teenagers follow leads to acne is also false as there is no scientific proof to prove this idea. It is your overall body health that helps fight infections, including acne which is infections of hair follicles.   H...
