Support One Blog, Make Your Blog Stand Tall
2007-07-22 09:31:00 Extend your support to other bloggers, keep yourself on track and see your blog grow.Inexperienced bloggers feel a bit of embarrassment while they compare their blogs with a dozen of posts with old, established blogs with hundreds of posts.A determined blogger can reach that status, by doing nothing that special, except adding three-five blog posts a week. You can add more than that too.It is easy to compare yourself against top class blogs and bloggers. One thing to keep in mind is they have reached that state after years of dedication.Newbie bloggers ditch blogging before their blog takes wings. The main problem is lack of support and motivation. One simple thing can motivate you to no end – support. It is the support from fellow bloggers, which can put you on track and keep you there.Everyone links to established blogs. None will do so to starting blogs. Be a bit different and link out to small blogs. It is the best form of support you can give a newbie blogger.Anyone can make ... Increase Blog Traffic with this Simple, Time Tested Method
2007-05-17 02:47:00 You can increase your blog's visibility by linking out to other blogs that interest you and asking others to return the favor. This is time tested method, used ever since blogging picked up popularity. The first step is to identify as many blogs as possible for potential back link. Make an extensive list of them. A list of 500 blog posts is good to start with.Identify seven to ten blogs that deal with the same topic. Choose your favorite topic say, blogging and identify seven to ten blogs that blog about blogging.Next, identify a post in each of the blogs that you think is worthy of a link. Each paragraph has two links – one to the post you comment on and one to blog homepage. Not everyone will be checking post level back links. Top 6 Contenders to Conduct Group Writing Projects
2007-05-15 02:39:00 ProBloggertDarren Rowse would not have expected this success for his group writing project. This, once again proves Darren is the guy to watch out when it comes to blogging and bloggers. Apart from Problogger, who else can conduct successful group writing projects that attract the participation of minimum 300 bloggers? I wonder if anyone takes the initiative to include such a wide range of interests.Performancing With a reader base and users crossing 20000 mark, coupled with the advertising arm of PayPerPost.com, Performancing.com should be able to conduct successful group writing projects. It will also be not very hard for Chris Garret to find an advertiser to sponsor the project.Successful BlogFemale representation? May be. Google Ad Section Targeting in Blogger Blogs
2007-05-14 02:26:00 Google ad section targeting is a simple method of telling Google spiders to serve targeted advertisement by marking a section as relevant content for targeting ads for the page. The code to use is <!-- google_ad_section_start --> just before the beginning of content and <!-- google_ad_section_end --> immediately after the end of content you target for ads.To implement this method in Blogger template is quite easy. Start section targeting immediately before the post title and end after the post content and before comments start.Scroll down the template and find the sections <BlogItemTitle> and <p><$BlogItemBody$></p>.Ad d <ItemPage> <!-- google_ad_section_start --> </ItemPage> before <BlogItemTitle> and <ItemPage> <!-- google_ad_section_end --> </ItemPage> after <p><$BlogItemBody$></p>.Yo ur new code should look something like this.<ItemPage> <!-- google_ad_section_start --> </Item... Click on the template tab at Dashboard. You will get the template as a long HTML/Blogger code.Scroll down the template code and locate the following area. <BlogItemTitle > <h3 > <a href=" <$BlogItemUrl$ >" title=" <$BlogItemTitle$ >" > <$BlogItemTitle$ > </a > </h3 > </BlogItemTitle >Find the =... My Expectations and Results off Problogger Group Writing Project
2007-05-13 11:57:00 I entered Pro Blogger group writing project with a definite purpose in mind, but had result of a different kind. Here I write my experience of my first ever group writing project. My original expectation was ONE link to Ramblifications from Problogger, although Darren has promised two. Results : Links to my group writing project post from 11 different blogs. The original link to my post from Pro Blogger is missing from back link searches. I don’t know why. Probably because my blog not being indexed by SEs. I could visit different blogs and subscribe to some cool blogs. I especially liked the 5 Ways Criminal Thinking Can Make You Happier post by Maile. Check Maile’s blog out, it is a blog worth subscribing to.Deb has visited my blog and leaves a comment, within 30 minutes of asking so.I am really happy about the project and to me this is a big success, worth the celebration (7th idea of breaking your duck). Stupid Cricket Frenzy Sucks India in: Once Again
2007-05-13 03:42:00 Just two winnings, even if it is against such a lowly Bangladesh is enough to pull India n fans in – proves the change in voice tone of people in my area.Cricket India is just a bunch of vegetables to India has won another overseas series – oh my head spins. Indian cricket and Indian politics are alike. Both make big promises, but deliver nothing. Yet, both get something to attract all the attention and to fool most of the population.India cricket is not going to make any significant gains in another 12 years. In fact, Indian cricket will witness a landslide in the coming years, and a resurrection from that position – impossible!Remember the state of official national sport of India – hockey. Once kings of hockey fields, India hockey today finds it extremely difficult to compete against South Korea, Pakistan and the likes. A few super heroes like Dhyan Chand once and then it is landslide. Same fate awaits Indian cricket too.The biggest bane of Indian cricket is nothing but th... More About: Stupid , Again , Suck

MS Smart Quotes Suck when it comes to Links Tagging
2007-05-02 02:36:00 MS Word Smart Quotes suck when it comes to writing tag code for links. I use MS Word for composing my articles and blog posts, mainly because of spelling and grammar check facilities. It has its problems too, the Smart Quotes feature of MS Word is ON by default. When I use the smart quotes for links, the link will not point to the intended page, but to a page that shows ‘404 Not Found’ error. See, the single quotes around 404 Not Found is smart quotes. It sucks when you see smart quotes in the tags you use to link to pages. Now one method I use to get around in problem is typing the code in Notepad and pasting it to the document. Thus I can see this <a href="http://afpj.blogspot.com">http:/ /afpj.blogspot.com</a>; working very fine. See there are only straight quotes there, when used, it will take to the homepage of my blog, instead of a Blogspot error page.“This is smart quote”"This is straight quote"With Office 2007, I find no way to turn off auto-formatting to sm... P-metrics from Performancing, Once Again
2007-05-01 02:30:00 Performancing announced the re-launch of P-metrics, the traffic analytics tool, which claims to be one of a kind specially developed for blogs. For me, at blogspot.com blogs, P Metrics shows me such visitor details like visitor location, referral pages, the clicks they made inside my blog and the link which they clicked out of my blog.A real time monitoring tool called ‘Spy’ that gives real time user behavior is for those people who want and like to see what their visitors do in their blog now. It is of no use for me, especially while using a dialup connection to access internet, maybe I will use the tool more often in the future – after I get the pending broadband connection. The dashboard is pretty simple and intuitive. Basic Stats tell you the number of unique visitors for the set number of days, detailed Action gives you a clear idea about the pages that your visitors navigated to – most importantly it gives you an idea what your visitors intended to achieve from your blo... Money Back Guarantees; Marketers Real Winners
2007-04-29 05:08:00 Are you happy if you get a money back guarantee of 30 days? Will you become happier if you get 60 days money back guarantee and feels like heaven if you get full 365 days money back guarantee?Well, after seeing this thread going on at Conquer Your Niche forum, you may rethink. This is a thread that describes how it is more profitable for marketers (not customers) to offer longer period money back guarantee. 60 day money back guarantee ensures lesser number of returns than 30 day guarantee. Life time guarantee has virtually zero returns.Psychology of consumers play an important role here. Coming with a six months guarantee, the customers feel like they have more than enough time to claim a refund if they are dissatisfied with the product.I too once bought a product that came with SEVEN year guarantee. And did I made any refund claims, as you expect no. But the product was my TV, from Sharp. Sure their guarantee is valid and I could get free service five times over the seven years. I l... Webmasters, Just Ignore Google’s Call to Report Bad Links
2007-04-27 02:19:00 Google now wants people to report paid links in websites – says Matt Cutts, the long term Mr. Nice Guy of SEO community. If you suspect link buying in a web page, you can report it and Google wants to punish the site that ‘bought’ the link, with a slash drop in page rank. One can report without signing in too.Hurrah, it is good time. I will now create a new post in my corporate team, ‘Paid Link Report er’, and remunerate the ones that report maximum number of competitor links. Is it the first thought that ran through your mind with the news? Bad news for you - from me – now!Is paying to get a link to your website a bad business decision? Never! Business people buy link from websites all the time. The links, we buy in the hope of attracting some business through that link. What has a third party to do with link exchange? Here Google crosses all limits of ‘normal’ business ethics. It dictates terms for link buying. If I can no longer approach a good website for the sake... More About: Webmasters , Links , Call , Master

What Makes a Blog Successful? It Builds a Community
2007-04-23 02:31:00 How can you say a blog is successful? A blog can be successful only when you can attract a community. The most successful topic today in blogging community is blogging itself. I find several blogs in the blogosphere that deal with blogging only. Without surprise there is a big fan following for all of them. What makes a blog successful? Wendy Piersall of eMoms @ Home in the biggest post of her life says: A successful blog isn’t a successful person - it is a successful community of smart people who know how to add to the conversation with great insights, great questions, and great blogs in their own right.I agree. Behind the success of Problogger, Digital Inspiration, Successful Blog , John Chow Blog, etc are a community. These blogs are successful because they successfully attracted a community of smart people, between them was active discussions, brainstorming and active sharing of ideas, resources and thoughts. Each of them took the role of thought leaders and provided reade... More About: Community , Make , Build , Unity

Adult Expressions Not Fit for Child Girl Models on Ramp
2007-04-15 04:51:00 Rarely do I watch TV. On such a rare instance, I was stumbled across a Malayalam channel (Surya TV) on Sunday afternoon, where I find a very disgusting show. I didn't see the name of the program but there were 10-12 year old girls on fashion ramp, strutting, not smiling, throwing sideways glances to the camera and making all the facial gestures that is a fit for women, but never for these girls.Sure these little girls wore dress that completely covered their bodies. But the expressions on their face and their body language were not fit really fit of girls who have not reached their puberty.Child ren are usually identified as angels and we see them as epitomes of innocence and merry. I identify children as little angels that spread merry to those around them. The things I (and most normal thinking people) identify with these girls are laughing, running around in randem, and giggling (giggling of a child). With these comperes of the fashion show, they put some unnatural expressions on ... India Fries Minnows Bermuda in Cricket World Cup Record Score
2007-03-20 14:08:00 Irving Romaine didn't know he was digging Bermuda's feet by sending India to popping crease. At the end of the day India has World Cup record score and most importantly, long struggling hero Virender Sehwag returns to the midst of runs.Great Catch by a 'Big' ManThe diving catch by 120kg Levrock to show Robin Utthappa the door was a good sight at the begining of Indian innings.First Time by IndiaIt was the first time India annihilating a minor team in that fashion. Past experiences show India always kept a soft corner opened to minnows and would put them into bat first. Monday was different story, but it was Bermuda that India put on the highway to Mount 413, still a steep climb for any cricketing team of the world, except for may be South Africa. Losing wicket one by one, Bermuda stumbled at 156 in 42 overs.Sehwag ScoresSehwag, as usual believing on his no-foot-movement policy, relied on hand-eye coordination, which proved to be fruitful against Bermuda. World Cup Bloggers, Any One Out There?
2007-03-18 14:44:00 It is time for rumblings on World Cup cricket, the biggest event on earth and the biggest time waster as it is. More than fifty per cent of the 1 billion in India, about 100% of Australian population and the Islands of Calypso are in festive mood, forgetting about everything else. The most important questions of their lives will not be personal or financial or educational. Students think about taking leave from examination, workers look for a leave, and fantastically named fan armies marching up for England, India and Australia - all for day long sunbath by 22 persons. The first game I like to play and the last game I like to see, Cricket to me is simply the biggest time waster. But, when there is nothing else to do, all I will do is becoming couch potato lapping up the details of each ball bowled and analysing the technical imperfections of each batsman - just to make an arguement with fellow match-watchers (my papa, bro, a cousin, and a few others in the town). Will This Be a World Cup of Minnows?
2007-03-18 14:43:00 Impressive performances by Ireland and Bangladesh pull Cricket World Cup West Indies out of predictable boring monotonies. Bangladesh has delivered - a win against New Zealand in a warm up match and beating India square and fair in their first world cup match.Ireland too has negotiated a tie with Zimbabwe and went on to beat Pakistan and showing them the doors. Scotland's humiliation at the hands of South Africa was pretty predicted. Ireland and Bangladesh has separated themselves from the minnows. To beat teams like India, Pakistan (already done), Australia, New Zealand, South Africa by any of the bottom teams is pretty impressive.Clearly one team in this world has the potential of becoming dark horses - Watmore trained Bangladesh. Clearly a team to watch for this world cup, Bangladesh will give a tough time for Sri Lanka and it is most sure they will beat Namibia too. May be the competition can be between India and Sri Lanka to go to the next round (after Bangladesh).Pakistan alre... More About: Will , Inno
Sehwag: Is He Pampered Too Much or Categorically Destroyed Beyond Healing?
2007-03-18 14:42:00 Rahul Dravid can't escape the questions about inclusion of Virendar Sehwag. Wherever he goes, he faces the same question - what it is about Viru that you can't him from the team inspite of his poor (pathetic) performance? It may be because of his past performance that this Viru still remains in the team. But is keeping Viru in the team doing good to at least Viru?Watching him coming to the centre along with Ganguly, in the match against Bangladesh, it gives the negative impression. He is included in the team against his will and against his good.Coupled with his poor form, the pitch's favoring of fast bowlers and most importantly strict compliance to the basics of line and length by the Bangladesh bowlers proved to be too much pressure for Sehwag to manage. This failure, the last point of a long tail would squeeze the last drop of confidence Sehwag had on himself.Sehwag's failure in the preparatory match against West Indies gave the impression he will be omitted from the playing ... India, Pakistan Frustrate; Bangladesh, Ireland Celebrate
2007-03-18 14:41:00 "Don't write us off" this seems to be THE message the so called minnows echoing at West Indies World Cup 2007. Contrary to expectations, India played underdogs to Bangladesh and Ireland showed Pakistan the doors - this world promises something different this time.India's main frustration stems from the fact that Bangladesh just stick to the basics early on - keeping a tight line and length and not giving enough room for the batsmen. The first to fall to this tactic was Virendar Sehwag. A struggling hero who drops his confidence game after game. To see Virender Sehwag out was frustration beyond words. There was little footwork. Footwork never has been part of Sehwag's technique, this time he missed hand-eye co-ordination too.Saurav Ganguly, who has gained some game and confidence during his brief outting from the team did a good job holding the Indian innings together. He tried to build partnerships with Robin Uttappa, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid - all three of them miscued t... More About: Celebrate

2007-03-18 14:02:00 I heard for the first time about Cuty Boy, the wonderful Persian cat from little Divya kutty last Friday. This little girl wants me to write something about this knowledgeable cat, that knows almost everything on this world and beyond the scope of this world.Seeing Cuty Boy receives accolades from international media, I told Divya I too decide to take up the story for a feature. "Stor y ?" Divya says "Cuty Boy is real, it is not a story".After seeing story of journalists is about real things, she quickly tries to pass all the information about Cuty Boy. No she didn't have all the information and she telephoned her friend (possibly classmate) who has been there to Cuty Boy's place to see him in action. In return she wants to learn how to write articles, to which I say writing requires no special skills and you can write if you look to - she was completely satisfied when I pointed myself as the biggest example.
