Pryordurkin’s do Bridlington on the East Riding’s Coast

We were at a bit of a loose end this Saturday and after having a fairly slow start to the day I decided we needed a walk and some fresh air.  So off we set down the A166 to Bridlington.  A place name we had seen many a time on the signs, but a road we had never ventured further than our favourite local farm shop.  Having stopped to pick up some freshly baked food for a light lunch we were soon in Bridlington and parked up in the Northern Beach Area.  We probably spent a good two hours walking along the sea front, which was very nice indeed.  They have clearly spent a good few millions on updating this area in recent years and it was well laid out with plenty of seating, viewing and picnic areas along the way.  Of course, it would not be a British seaside resort without the usual tacky amusement arcade and so a brief stop to throw away some money was in order. We spent this weekend helping my Sister to get over hitting the BIG 40. Travelling down by train instead of driving, we were in Huntingdon less than two hours after leaving York on Friday. Saturday saw us going into London with Christine, Graham, Jessica and Marissa where we visited the Science Museum and the Houses of Parliament. Check out the photographs here or in our Gallery. Sunday was a lovely affair, with a relaxing start to the day, a short walk into Town where we picked up Delia Smiths new recipe book and a very nice Sunday Lunch prepared by Christine. Being full of good food and wine, we then set off back home from Huntingdon at around 4pm and arrived in York just after 6pm. A very nice weekend.
