Less than three weeks to go until the Civil Partnership
2007-09-11 14:38:00 With less than three weeks to go we have still not finalised the order of service or chosen any music. We have thankfully managed to sort out what we will be wearing on the day after a very long days shopping in York. Things have become so hectic we have now resorted (in ... 2007-09-08 21:08:00 We?d seen this place before, whilst walking through King?s Square. Harlequin Coffee & Tea House, 2 Kings Square, York.
2007-09-08 21:08:00 We’d seen this place before, whilst walking through King’s Square. It is just along from the King’[s Café which we have reviewed previously, so thought we would pop in for a spot of lunch. What a great place! The place had nicely laid clean tables, pleasant staff and was decorated in a very inviting way. We were soon seated and had ordered Soup of the Day, a couple rounds of sandwiches, mine being a Ham and Chutney and Paul having the Club Sandwich. Wanting to try the famous Harlequin Scones with organic raspberry jam and clotted cream left us no option but to go for that as well. The soup was fresh and served with olive bread. The Ham in both our Sandwiches was cut from the bone and beautiful. The chutney was fresh and tangy and complimented the ham very well. As well as Ham, Paul’s Club Sandwich also came with Chicken, Bacon and Prawns. Served with a fresh salad they were both a meal in themselves. Accompanied by a hot pot of tea we were quite content looking out f... More About: House , Coffee , York , Kings , Tea House
Milburns Menu Tasting at the National Railway Museum
2007-09-07 19:56:00 The menu tasting organised by Milburn s at the National Railway Museum was fun. Arriving on time (Michael, that is) we were met by Pru Young and shown to our specially set out table, in the main hall. The food arrived in twos, that is, two different starters, two different mains and two different deserts. It was very interesting to try the dishes out side by side and Paul not having had lunch was happy to clear most of the plates. At the same time we finalised running orders and were gently persuaded into spending more money! More About: Menu , The Nation

Hilton Hotel Croydon - Revisited
2007-09-06 22:08:00 Well despite my last review promising never to return, I stayed at the Hilton Hotel Croydon again this week. To be fair the experience was slightly better. The room was cleaner and the restaurant food had improved. Having a free dinner included in the first nights rate was certainly good value. ...

Pryordurkin takes a leap of faith with chocolate.
2007-09-03 22:16:00 Having finished work today, I rushed into York city centre to put the deposit down on a ‘wedding’ cake. 2007-08-28 22:24:00 Checking in was fairly straight forward but there was no warmth or ‘make you feel at home’ welcome from the trainee staff on reception.
