In fact, most of our dishes were from "38 for under $8".Tempura was crispy. Fried rice, seabass cake, and beef kushiyaki were very tasty. But the chicken dumplings were pretty bad. So don't order dumplings. And the desserts... the beignets were great, each one was pretty small, but I can guarantee that you'll have some room for these no matter how full you are. My husband's Yelp friends recommended this place, Wong's Kitchen in Arleta, CA. So far, on every single website I've checked, people like this place a lot. We both disagreed. It's true that the food here is very cheap. I mean, we got all the food below for $18. They also have these "Quick Lunch Combinations" that start at $3.95. For example, one of the combos is pork chow mein, egg foo young, and pork fried rice. All this for $3.95. That's a pretty good deal.So my husband went to pick up the food. He said this place was located in a kinda poor area with nothing around. Hugo's Cellar at Four Queens . We love this place. When you walk in, they give you a rose. The portions are huge here, I guess I said so before. All entrees come with salad, but if you don't want it, you can just say you don't want. I asked to have my salad as a half portion, because I knew it was gonna be too much food. I never have enough room for desserts. Everything was good, except the Hot Rock. Basically you cook raw meats yourself. But the meat had no taste. We realized we like our pizza in the large size. We liked the taste. Although, it's possible we were just hungry. Food from slot tournament at Four Queens in January 2009. We've been to many slot tournaments, but this was our first time at a Four Queens slot tournament. It was a little bit different from other casinos' tournaments. This Four Queens tournament was only 5 minutes for each session, and there were only 10 slot machines, and there were no chairs, so you had to stand up while you're playing. Also people who were at the tournament were mostly older people, like average 50 years old, I think. Usually slot tournaments are 10-15 minutes each session, and there are usually about 60 machines, and of course there are chairs at each machine, so you can sit while you're playing.This was the food during the tournament. I bought this at the Mitsuwa closing sale. I think it was about $1 after 50% off. It's Yuzu Okayu (congee).What is okayu? CLICK HERE.Usually okayu is served hot, but this package says it's more delicious if you eat it cold. I thought that's kinda weird. But I did it anyway, since it says so. But I think I prefer okayu hot. It did have real yuzu in it and you can actually taste yuzu a lot. But I probably won't purchase this again. Pizza from Domino's. When we order Domino's, we always ask if they have any specials, and they did. It's $5.99 for a 1-topping large pizza. Each extra topping was $1.60 or so. Total for 2 large pizza was $13.77 + $1.14 tax = $14.91. We both got 1 extra topping. $15 for 2 pizzas is not so bad, however, we were disappointed with Domino's this time. The sauce tasted like from cheap pre-made jar. The crust also wasn't good. My husband made this bruschetta using what we had in the fridge. From bottom: French bread, olive oil, chopped garlic, pepperoni slices, diced fresh tomato and shredded mozzarella cheese. Put in the oven at 425 and bake for a few minutes.

When we went to Little Tokyo Mitsuwa 2 days before they closed, and I saw these. The price tag says $1.99, but everything was 50% off, so they were 99 cents each.What is dorayaki? CLICK HERE.Basic dorayaki usually has red bean paste in it, but these had a fig and/or pomegranate jam spread between red bean paste and pancake. We loved these. These are delicious. Especially we liked the fig. Fig had more stronger flavor than pomegranate.So if you see them at the supermarket (you can probably get at Mitsuwa), try it. I recommended!
