Soooo 60s...or 50s?
2008-02-16 03:34:00 This is a wonderful Nescafe commercial from the USA. It's really fun to watch. I really wonder if an ad like that would catch the audience today?
Remember the Nescafe couple?
2008-02-09 03:26:00 If like me you are a more than just a few decades old you may remember "the Nescafe couple". First aired in Britain, this is a series of advertisements for "Nescafe Gold Blend" instant coffee, which involved next door neighbors played by Sharon Maughan and Anthony Head popping round to each other's houses to borrow some coffee. Seen in sequence, the ads tell the story of a budding romance between the two neighbors, and many viewers were as caught up by their story as by anything else on TV. I don't remember all of the ads, but apparently they did kiss in the end :-) I only found a short summary of all ads on You Tube...and if anyone knows where to find all ads, please let me know. I would love to see these again. More About: Couple

2008-02-05 00:01:00 There will be a break in posting for a while now. I'm taking a well-deserved holiday, going to the country where I found my favorite kopi Nescafé two years ago. You should be able to guess where that is...Oh, and for my regular readers: I have scheduled a few posts for the coming weeks, so make sure you visit every weekend. Back in three weeks! Nescafé Portugal - where's the Cappuccino?
2008-02-03 00:01:00 Encouraged by Joao Esperanca's comment on my post about Nescafé Croatia, telling me they had Nescafé in Portugal , I went to search for it, hoping to find something to write about for this Sunday's review of Nescafé worldwide websites. Besides, Portugal was not yet on my list of Nescafé countries, so I looked forward to adding another country to my list. Maybe I didn't look good enough, but I could only find 4 kinds of Nescafé at Nestlé Portugal. There must be more...or maybe not?So, what kinds of Nescafé do they have in Portugal? Nescafé Classico Nescafé Classico Decaf Nescafé Gold Nescafé Espresso Like I said, I found very little information about Nescafé in Portugal on the Nestlé Portugal website. Lots of pages about their other food brands, but not much on Nescafé. Maybe there really isn't more, that's ok, but if you know of more kinds of Nescafé in Portugal, please help supplement this post by adding a comment below. Or email ... More About: Cappuccino
Nescafé New Zealand - Nescafé Paradise...
2008-02-02 08:50:00 If you love the Nescafé Cappuccino range, New Zealand will be your Nescafé paradise. No less than 15 different flavors are waiting for you! How could I have missed this when I stayed in New Zealand for a couple of months 4 years ago? Maybe because I thought of New Zealand as tea nation more than a coffee nation. But it was in New Zealand that I tried a Chai Latte in a coffee shop for the first time. Delicious...The Nestlé NZ website is apparently down for maintenance at this time, so the only Nescafé information I can find is the Nescafé Cafe Menu range at www.cupspace.co.nz, a strange sounding name for a coffee site though. But not really. It seems they recently had a competition where people could enter their their own cup design for that special Nescafé moment with your cup of your favorite Nescafé Cafe Menu, and win a NZ$ 10000 prize for that. Wish it was me... And maybe you too can find your favorite coffee for your Nescafé moment among these: Nescafé Cap... More About: Paradise
Think Green, Think Recycle, Think Nescafe - part 2
2008-02-01 19:18:00 This week's featured blogpost about Nescafé is an old acquaintance. Not personally, but a blog I have visited before. It's Cecile Cinco and her recycling talents. I'm really amazed at what she does to her Nescafé sachets. Now I wonder, does she drink all this Nescafé herself, or just collect the sachets from her friends and family? This time she made Nescafé Sachets Turned Into Snake. Actually it's her kids that made it. I find it very commendable that she teaches her kids how to recycle and how to craft with very little. It's so true, you don't have to visit an overpriced craft store to get ideas, you can simply visit Global Recycle d Products. More About: Green , Part
Nescafé 3in1 from Thailand - sweet commercial!
2008-01-30 18:30:00 I'm not leaving Monday's review of Nescafé 3in1 from Thailand quite yet, because today I have two commercials for you. Actually it's the same commercial in two versions. The first has a romantic them music to it, French of course, what else, and centers around a beautiful woman teasing two guys in the office into making her some coffee. The second has a simple instrumental theme to it, but still with a hunch of France More About: Commercial , Sweet

2008-01-29 06:43:00 It's amazing what Nescafé stuff that you can find on eBay if you're a Nescafé addict like me. Yesterday I told you that I found some 3in1 from Thailand. Every now and then I find Nescafé from other countries, but the most advertised item seems to the the glass world mugs. Where do people get those? Nescafé 3in1 from Thailand - boost your blood sugar!
2008-01-28 17:40:00 Recently I acquired some Nescafé 3in1 from Thailand . I found it on eBay. $23 incl. shipping for 30 sticks, that's 80 cents per mug. Worth it? Not sure, but I have to do something to keep this website rolling. Nescafé 3in1 from Thailand comes in 3 kinds: Mild, Original and Turbo. Interesting names. Mild must have a lot of creamer. No brainer. Original is just a regular mix of coffee, sugar and creamer. And Turbo? Well, after I checked the nutritional content I realized why. They may call them 3in1, but it's more like 2in1 and 1 of the 2 is not coffee. Look here: 3in1 Sugar Creamer Coffee Mild 50% 45% 5% Original 56% 33% 11% Turbo 60% 26% 14% 5% coffee only in Mild? And 60% sugar in Turbo? A true "Turbo" coffee...if THAT doesn't get you going in the morning, I don't know what kind of coffee would? As to my blood sugar level, I think I better stay away from these. It's not the caffeine-kick that will keep me awake... More About: Blood , Boost
Nescafé USA - the very best coffee?
2008-01-27 08:23:00 I don't recall ever trying Nescafé Taster's Choice when I lived in the US many years ago. Folger's was my favorite coffee then. It was before my Nescafé addiction, and coming to think of it, at that time Nescafé Taster's Choice was still labelled just "Taster's Choice" without the added "Nescafé". According to Wikipedia, Nescafé was called by its original name in its U.S. TV ads throughout the '50s and '70s, as well as in store packaging. From the 1950s to the late 1970s, Nescafé enjoyed steady but slow growth in US, and consumer awareness of the Nescafe brand name was high. But this changed in the mid 1980s, when Nestle reformulated the line of Regular and Decaf coffee's, expanding the line to five different kinds and switching to European names. Later, Nestlé USA introduced a new brand called Taster's Choice, which supplanted Nescafé for many years. In 2003, the company reintroduced the Nescafé brand, and the product is now known as Nescafé T... More About: Coffee
Nescafé Croatia - with a little help from my friends
2008-01-26 06:31:00 This week I can add a new and totally undiscovered country to my list: Croatia . Thanks to sherxr, a Singaporean now living in Croatia. She was kind enough to send me the link and although I don't speak a single word Croatian I will try my best to find out about Nescafé in Croatia. Naturally and unfortunately this review will be very brief, but I invite any Croatian reader or speaker to come forward and help me review this site by becoming a guest author in kopidunia.com. So, what did I find?I found a "standard" Nescafé website with the usual stuff, some product promotion, product descriptions, tidbits about Nescafé, recipes and a music review site, among other things. Nescafé Gold Nescafé Gold Decaf Nescafé Classic Nescafé Classic 3in1 Nescafé Espresso Nescafé Cappuccino Nescafé Cappuccino Unsweetened Nescafé Cafe au Chocolat Nescafé Cafe Vanilla I'm really sorry for such a short review today, comp... Jason Pang's Nescafé assignment
2008-01-25 06:47:00 This week's blogpost about Nescafé is more than just a post, it's actually a series of posts by Jason Pang, a 19-year old student and web designer from Malaysia. On his website he is talking about his research on re-designing the Nescafé web site. He has spent some time looking at the Nescafé web site and also analyzed Nescafé's main competitors. I find it very interesting what he has come up with so far: Web Re-design Nescafé - Nescafé Analysis - 1st competitor Ali Cafe - 2nd competitor Coffee Bean - 3rd competitor Starbucks Coffee - Nescafe Arts Harassment From Jason Pang I now know there is a coffee brand in Malaysia called Ali Cafe. Interestingly, there is one in Norway with the same name as well, spelled "Ali Kaffe". By my standards that is a coffee brand at the lower end in terms of quality and price in Norway. Just a side note. I wish Jason all the best with his project and thank you Jason for giving me permission to feature you here on Kopi Dunia.

Nescafe Singapore - The beginning
2007-12-16 00:58:00 As I said earlier, I may not be able to travel the real world in search of Nescafe, but I can travel the virtual world and this is the first of my reviews of Nescafe web sites around the world. There is a very good reason for starting in Singapore . My coffee addiction started ages ago, but my Nescafe addiction began 3 years ago, in Singapore, when I had my first Nescafe 3-in-1 experience.
