STEAK PLATES are HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES.
2006-08-29 20:15:03
Ceramic "Steak plates" are usually just oval plates. They are preheated in the oven and they do not stay hot for too long. Heat retentive plates on the other hand are preheated for just one minute in a microwave oven and stay hot for 1/2 hour. They can be handled by the rim (which remains cool) with your bare hands.But... heat retentive plates can be used as easily for eggs over easy in the morning or for just any type of hot food. Their use is so simple that they will be used regularly on a daily basis at home (You do dot use steak plates every day do you?) I believe the future of steak plates is "heat retentive plates" specially designed for that purpose, which of course will be manufactured in oval form and as beautiful as any plate in the market. The only difference from an "all purpose heat retentive plate" (Which of course can be used for steaks) will probably be a heavier susceptor and a slightly thicker plate for more thermal mass. The general public will decide. Of course...

PLATES FOR YOUR GOOD COOKING
2006-08-24 20:06:06
I will assume your cooking is good, if that is not the case, it does not make any difference on which plate you serve it, but... if your cooking is good why serve it on a plate that is going to contribute to get your fine cooking cold in a few minutes? and your answer will be: "I do not want to get in the trouble of pre-heating my oven, then pre-heating my plates several minutes, then burning my

COOKING AND PLATES

There are many websites about cooking and many about plates but only one about COOKING AND PLATES or what does COOKING have to do with PLATES?. All industries need new products, but new products that people want to buy, products that solve a problem for instance: What problem or need does a toy solve?... Entertaining a kid, and a diamond ring?... pure vanity but that is a need for some people, and a car? ... transportation (and vanity too) and a heat retaining plate?... keep food hot while being served and at the table. is it a good

A UNIQUE COFFEE MUG
2006-08-14 19:48:03
I have not talked about the coffe mug that incorporates a microwaveable heat storage device, the reason is probably that for me the application is too obvious, if it works in a plate with all the problems involved about avoiding thermal shock(which I solved), the very large area of a plate, etc. Making it work for a coffee mug is a piece of cake, but why a coffe mug?... well, it simply there is

COOKING and HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES
2006-08-12 19:48:03
I checked the Internet for "cooking" and it is amazing how many schools and information there is on the subject, however...It does not matter how much you studied, if you are THE BEST CHEF IN THE WORLD or how much you spent on the ingredients or even how long it took you to prepare that special RECIPE OR DISH, if 5 minutes after serving it it is going to get cold. well maybe not cold but it will not be as appealing as when it is JUST SERVED. Do you know that HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES have a delay action so that the heat "kicks in" when needed and compensate for the heat losses of your food without overheating it? Do you know that HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES NEED JUST ONE MINUTE PREHEATING TIME? Do you know that in lab tests with just ONE minute preheating HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES stay hot for 30 minutes? (45 minutes if you preheat them for 1:15 minutes). Do you know that you can handle HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES by the rim which remains cool for easy handling? COOKING IS FUN, but enjoying what yo...

Chemin des colombettes (WIPO)

Yesterday I sent my amended claims and comments to the International Office of WIPO (World intellectual property Organization) which is located in Switzerland on a street named "Chem in des colombettes" ("road of the little doves" or "camino de las palomitas" in Spanish). I imagine it must have been a lovely place before the city invaded the little colombettes. Maybe it still is. Just a thought that comes to my mind every time I see the address or receive mail from them.Juan

HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES, will my steak continue cooking?
2006-08-06 19:36:01
Q: will my steak continue cooking on a microwaveable heat retentive plate? A: no, the plate is designed to release heat at a controlled rate, just to compensate for the heat losses of your food. The new technology is based on the stefan-Boltzmann law: A hot body or susceptor captures microwave energy and radiates in the infrared wavelength inside a tight cavity, the radiation is controlled by the Stefan Boltzmann law. It is somewhat abstract but the thing is that the radiation is controlled not by any type of insulation, but by the surrounding temperature of the hot body (Among other factors). Juan J. Ramirez

MICROWAVEABLE HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES Q and A
2006-08-06 19:36:01
I am starting a new series of Q and A (Questions and and answers) on "microwaveable heat retentive plates". Q: How do I use the heat retentive plates? A: preheat them for JUST ONE MINUTE in a microwave oven and serve your food hot as you normally do, the plate will keep your food hot. Alternatively you can heat up the food on the plate, give it one minute, check, keep heating in 30 second increments as wished. The RIM remains COOL FOR EASY HANDLING.

MICROWAVEABLE HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES
2006-08-06 19:36:01
I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO POINT OUT that there are many types of heat storage devices, but microwaveable heat storage devices like the one that is incorporated in the design of the microwaveable heat retentive plates , based on the Stefan-Boltzmann law, with a new composition of material, and a new working principle, there is only one and it is patent pending. We also own HotSmart(TM).

HEAT RETENTIVE COFFEE MUGS
2006-08-06 19:36:01
Why have I neglected telling you about HEAT RETENTIVE COFFEE MUGS?... I guess because once I solved the problem of making the HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES, applying the same technology to mugs was "a piece of cake". The problem with the plate was:How to make it of ceramic and being able to preheat iy very fast and yet avoid thermal shock, design it to stay HOT for 1/2 hour while keeping the rim from getting hot. The effect in the mugs is that now you can enjoy your coffee slowly to the last sip, and the temperature of this last sip will be like if you were at the middle of your mug, since the "microwaveable heat storage device" integrated in the design of the mug, will compensate for the heat losses including the ones due to vaporization or change of phase. And the market size?... as big as the one for plates or larger since coffee mugs are traditionaly given as presents or souvenirs. jjrb230@msn.com

DELAY ACTION ON "HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES"
2006-08-06 19:36:01
When I had a prototype that complied with my set goal (preheat one minute to stay hot for 30 minutes), we were happy to test it, but ... it was "too good", that is a way of saying that the food was hotter than expected, so what to do? The purpose of the plate is to maintain your food hot at the table to enjoy it, particularly on those special occasions, but not so hot that you burn your mouth or that you have to wait for your food to cool down, so I had to include in the design a delay action, that is: The plate reaches maximum temperature typically 5 to 8 minutes AFTER is taken out of the microwave oven. this can be specified as desired, so the heat" kicks in" when needed not immediately when the food is served. That, and the fact that the rim remains cool for easy handling was one of the reasons for which I chose the brand "HotSmart" I believe the plate is "Smart" for a plate that had not learned a new trick in about 12,000 years. Of course, you have always the option of prehea...

WILL IT DRY OUT MY FOOD?
2006-08-06 19:36:01
Q: Will the microwaveable heat storage plate dry out my food?A: No, one of the main features of the plate is that it has a delay action, it will reach maximum temperature (About 240 degrees Fahrenheit) 7 to 8 minutes after removing it from the microwave oven so when your food begins to cool down, the heat kicks in. Of course, if your food is eggs overeasy, they will keep cooking, but in this case you do not pre-heat the plate a full minute, but maybe only 30 seconds, it depends on your tastes. By the way, do you like just- made cookies?. The other day experimenting with one of my latest prototypes, I put some oat cookies on a plate, they become very soft, and hot of course, it is the closest thing to pancakes without cooking. You can even add some maple syrup and butter.( for me it makes a nice light breakfast or dinner). I do not pretend that everybody will like them but then again... tea used to be drunk hot until somebody decided it was good cold too (iced tea).I will keep exper...

LOSING WEIGHT WITH HEAT RETENTIVE PLATES
2006-08-06 19:36:01
HOW CAN I LOSE WEIGHT WITH THE HELP OF A HEAT RETENTIVE PLATE?Many dietitians have recognized the fact that by eating slowly, you can get satisfied by eating less food, but eating slowly causes your food to get cold. We do not guarantee that you will lose weight, but we do promise that your food will stay hot and that you will enjoy more. Please se article at http://www.heatstoragedish.com Remember, you need to plan your meals well and relax first, do not eat like a cast away. (I need to take my own advice , most of the time I get the Tom Hanks syndrome). jjrb230@msn.com
