When she and I spoke about what J likes for desserts, cheesecake came into the conversation. So, I had a cheesecake baking frenzy - three cheesecakes in one day. But, I only brought one of the three I made to the party because I thought I messed them up. Seeing that there were people I didn't know at the party, I didn't want to bring ickiness.Have you had those moments with cheesecake? Apriti Sesamo!/Open Sesame ! I mentioned a cookbook my sister sent me, written by a dad in my niece's school. A recipe I have been eyeing from the get-go is the Sesame Encrusted Goat Cheese Cakes on Greens . So, when I go home today, I decided to go for it. I added Sesame Encrusted Polenta rounds as well...just because. I also altered the way I made the vinegarette.Sesame Encrusted Goat Cheese Cakes on GreensSalad for 1 or 2¼ c each ? white and black sesame seeds4 oz. soft fresh goat cheese (I used herbed)2 cups mesclun mix4 shallots peeled2 Tbsp. sesame seed oil1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar½ Tbsp butter, melted2 scant Tbsp. extra virgin olive oilsalt and pepper to tastePreheat the oven to 325 degrees. Cut a 12-inch square of parchment, fold it in ½ then unfold it. Place the peeled shallots, melted butter, and 1 Tbsp. sesame seed oil on the parchment, toss to coat, add salt and pepper to taste.
