2007-03-08 09:48:02 This past weekend, my friends and I walked into Pico Kosher Deli, otherwise known as PKD, for a nice Sunday lunch. The first thing I noticed was the variety of food in the display windows. If you?re looking for a quick meal to go, or a meal for Shabbos or Yom Tov, this is the right place. It took us about 45 minutes of waiting in the take-out section for us to finally get a table. But once we sat, the booths were really comfortable and we were able to order almost right away. Because we came in for a weekend at lunch time, the waitress was overloaded with customers. There was a great variety of foods on the sit-down menu as well. Whether you?re in the mood of a salad, burger, deli sandwich, or wholesome knish, PKD?s got it! The booths we sat in were super-comfortable, allowing for 3-4 people on each side to sit comfortably. 2007-03-08 09:48:02 Review for Unique Bakery in Tarzana by David and Rachel Another place to check out is Unique Bakery, a dairy bakery/café in Tarzana. It is mainly a bakery with a café on the side, but it?s really a nice place to sit down and eat in. They offer the typical baked goods, such as croissants and beautifully decorated cakes. The café portion serves breakfast basics, such as coffee, salads, omelettes, breads, and other cheese dishes. The first thing I noticed was how clean and organized the place was. Despite the constant flow of customers, both the waiting and eating area were extremely clean. The owner has been in business for a while and really knows how to run his business right, as the customers were calmly assisted and were in and out within a few minutes, even on a busy Friday morning. The café is right alongside the bakery, but they?re both under one roof. The baked goods are Pareve, while the café is dairy. There?s a separate waiting and eating area, and the entire bake... They are a new restaurant on the block, and you may want to check it out if you are in the area. Cool thing about Cleopatra?s is that they started with a branch in Vegas, and have transplanted it here. The food is really good, and the servings are large. The owner doesn?t cut corners on his portions they are full size! You will walk out of there full. When I walked in, there were a lot of people there, but it was not stuffed. Unfortunately, the audio did not come out clearly, so you will be stuck just reading it this time, but in the future, we will be having a podcast too.) I was by Sassi?s on Monday (Jan. 15, 2007) around 4 p.m. by myself. I am a salesperson, and I travel everyday, so I walk into a lot of food restaurants etc. Sassi?s was very clean and aesthetic. I would give them a 5 star rating for their cleanliness, they were really clean, which is weird because they were really busy. What was crazier is that it was 4 in the afternoon, when most restaurants and diners have their down time and Sassi?s was full! It feels like people are always eating there, it is so popular.
