Skyline and Desserts
2009-10-13 17:02:00 Right now, I’m listening to one of my favorite Mae songs called Skyline Drive. It made me reminisced a beautiful skyline in Cebu, which my local friend brought us to see. The place is actually located at the top balcony of Marco Polo Plaza in Cebu called Blu bar and grill. ... More About: Desserts
Intrigued with Frozen Hot Chocolate
2009-09-12 11:35:00 By the looks of this, I’m drooling! I have dreamt of visiting this cafe in New York called Serendipity 3 even since the movie was shown (which I enjoy watching again and again…as I bashfully say it’s my favorite movie ever!) Recently, I saw this being featured in one of the segment ... More About: Hot Chocolate , Chocolate
Boracay’s famous Lemon Cafe
2009-08-01 06:35:00 It’s not usual for someone to order something sour for desserts. Well, actually lemon flavored desserts grow on me, eventually I prefer sour tasting desserts nowadays. Lemon sorbet is a refreshing end to sum up a tasty dinner! On a hot day in Boracay, my friends and I were waltzing about D’Mall and we stumble upon a cozy restaurant near the beachfront of Station 2 Boracay called Lemon Cafe . It is supposed to be famous for their lemon tarts . It was actually good….something to flush out the salty aftertaste of BBQ (inihaw) food mostly available in Boracay. It is a refreshing…although we also ordered chocolate mousse cake, I alternate most of the time. My favorite was the dalandan shake. Sweeter than calamansi but sour and citrus-y at the same time. They also serve other refreshing drink so perfect for the beach! They actually also serve entree dishes like Lemon and Thyme roasted chicken or Seared Tuna. Other desserts they have are Carrot cake, Be... More About: Famous
High tea Dessert Buffet at Goodwood Park
2009-07-17 18:45:00 Looking so posh and sentimental, a lot of us commoners were afraid to even step inside the realm’s of Goodwood Park . It was a hotel a stone throw’s away from the bustling Orchard road in Singapore, however it retained a regal stature of some sort. So fitting that we had to act so glamorous one day and ought we tried the famous High tea buffet read in blog reviews. We went in at around 2 plus I think and surely we were obviously first timers that we couldn’t seem to settle down which seats we should take. After deliberating, we decided to sit a bit far from the buffet table. We had to order some tea to get the feel of “High tea” in these hard times. I try to gobble as much smoked salmon as I can before I head on to my favorite part of the buffet which is obviously desserts!! To my dismay, I had to let go of so many choices because I end up full so fast. Good thing I tried this chocolate mousse. Heavenly! I forgot how much my friends paid b... More About: Dessert , Buffet
Cold Stone Creamery
2009-06-19 18:46:00 In my recent visit in Beijing, while we were food hopping somewhere in the VILLAGE, we saw a familiar sight. Actually I seem to remember the Cold rock (Australia’s version”). My brothers were all so excited to see different kinds of ice cream and then a whole lot of toppings to choose from. I was suppose to take picture of how they make it but they didn’t allow me (*roll eyes*) Oh well… It is not cheap I tell you! but if you craving for a soothing relief from a hot weather, this is a nice alternative. I love the waffle cone! I believe this dessert shop is continuously expanding in China. It is still unique for a lot of people! Would they bring this in the Philippines…Hm…let’s wait and see! My perfect Tiramisu
2009-06-04 16:51:00 I seldom get to experience the perfection of a Tiramisu…I got to visit Beijing again for the 4th time and had a chance to visit this famous Italian restaurant called Annie’s. I came in and scanned around, saw a family finishing their meal and having one cup which looks like ice cream. In my mind..”must be a best-seller I should try”. This sealed the deal for this Italian experience in an unusual location –Beijing China. I would have ordered another round if I hadn’t loaded myself with so much carbo. Creamy, Soft…not too sweet. This was a perfect Tiramisu in an lovable Italian restaurant. Spotted..for keeps. More About: Perfect
Conti’s
2009-04-08 11:50:00 There was a rave about their Mango Bravo cake that a lot of people were talking about. It was a hush hush at first when they started because of a few branches, few people can only conveniently reach them. However, nowadays, Conti’s had already expanded. The few branches I know is around Serendra and Greenhills. I was itching to try the Mango Bravo and was able to try this, thanks to my friends, and it was definitely worth every praise. Imagine sweet mangoes embraced b y the soft sponge cake with layers of caramel and mango ice cream…hmmm…now that makes me crave! The sizes of this cake are small and big…the big one is really huge! We ordered one slice..6 of us shared but coupled with a chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was not so fantastic but it was good. I think Mango bravo won me over any cake else they offer.
Classic Confections
2009-03-25 13:51:00 In one my get togethers with my blockmates, we went to check out one of the newest dessert place at Greenbelt 5. I was itching to drown my tongue in sweets because I need a sweet treat for my birthday! The place seemed so radiant and enticing…with the hopes of a good chit chat and gossips, we went in to check this out. Classic Confections’s entrees looked similar to what Bizu so I was hoping for a great tongue treat of oozing chocolate. We tried their chocolate cake which looks so nice on the plate. It was a bit hard on my taste though..I was hoping for a very moist one. It was okay for me, but can be better if it is more chilled. They also offer the Mocha Sansrival which was unique because I rarely see that flavor on a mini cake. It was a bit dry though, not the one I imagine (Red ribbon!) Well, it was a good chit chat, so either way, good experience!
Best Waffle in Singapore
2009-03-14 10:07:00 One time, we invited my ex house mate for a Sunday lunch buffet. I read so many reviews about Melt World Cafe in Singapore ’s Hungrygowhere.com and decided to try this one (after so many failed buffet experience in Singapore). Good for UOB credit card for having good promotions that brings out the epicurean in each one of us. Let me skip the buffet review and move to the best part of this buffet experience. It was the WAFFLES! They have this station where you can choose various topping, sauces and ice cream! Best best best waffle I have tried!! I was too full that time to get another one but I can still vividly remember the crunchiness that lingered…perfect!
Chewy Junior
2009-03-09 15:29:00 One time, my officemate bought us some goodies they called donuts…and a name quite stick my mind that time…they called it Chewy Junior . Quite a catchy name that made me remember it for a long time. I tried just one flavor that time, Chocolate Madness which was quite interesting because of how chewy it is! Yea…a chewy puff. It wasn’t irritatingly chewy…just right to make you want another bite. I told my room mates that time but took me a long time to buy them half a dozen to try. One of my few days in Singapore, I passed by their branch in Bugis and bought a few variety of flavors for them to try. I was only interested in chocolate flavor ones..though my friends like nuts and coffee. My friend K liked the cheesecake variant though I was really too full to try another. Chewy Junior seems to be a unique type of puff that I would occasionally crave because I prefer Beardpapa’s. If ever this becomes available in Manila, I would sure to t...
Cafe Breton (crepes delight)
2009-02-23 05:14:00 I first heard of Cafe Breton way back in college (which was like more than 5 years ago)…their first branch was near our place which was once a bar haven (Malate). Dessert places were not quite as popular as Zagu bubble shakes. My mom’s friend was raving about their mango crepes…I only got to try Cafe Breton’s crepes after I graduated college. The feel of the place seems Grecian or Mediterranean…people usually hangout here after dinner…the branches I love are in Mall of Asia and Cliffhouse, Tagaytay. La Pinay, their best seller, is covered with mangoes smothered with chocolate syrup and whip cream and ice cream…certainly perks up any day. It will be lovely if mangoes are in season. The other mango flavored favorite is the one with caramel. Blueberries flavored crepes were also good to try. They also have a wide variety of drinks (alcoholic or not) so you wouldn’t be bored in just plain water to go with the desserts. W... More About: Crepes , Delight

Quacker Oatbar
2008-03-07 03:46:00 I never really liked oatmeal…I remember when I was younger, we were forced to eat oatmeal during breakfast. I hated the sticky thick soup-like breakfast meal. I force myself to swallow it everytime. Well, it is said that Oatmeals are considered healthy as it can reduce or prevent a lot of diseases. For now, the closes I can get with this meal is their Chewy oatmeal bar. There are quite a number of flavors like Cookies and Cream, Chocolate, but my favorite is Smores! It is also a day when chocolates are frequently given as a gift. They say a box of chocolates can melt a woman’s heart. I see that the usual chocolate gifts are Ferrero in a heartshape box.
