I will Start Colon Cleansing April 1
2008-03-21 22:40:00
My husband and I plan to start a colon cleansing program on April one. I will use natural foods and am aiming at 'cleaning out' the dangerous mucus build ups, not just restore my body's ability to create stools.Feel Free to subscribe to follow this program. I am not going to become 'gross' or descriptive about my program, but I will tell you what I eat, the results, and how I feel.I plan to do a full 7 day cleansing. At the end, you will have a basic understanding of the colon cleansing process. I will be posting articles within the next week to explain what I plan to do, and why. The program will actually start a couple days early when I 'prepare' my body. Colon cleansing requires 'shocking' the body - but not making it ill. USA Today, "Most people who eat the standard American 'goo and glue' diet have about 5-10 pounds of matter stored in the colon." I will include fennel seed, flax seed, Psyllium but not senna. I will increase the fruits I eat, including (and most imp...

Type 2 Diabetes isn't Serious - Right?
2008-03-21 14:50:00
If you have type 2 diabetes and think you are not at risk for the 'common' diabetes problems - think again.Symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes The classic symptoms of diabetes (type 1 and type 2) are the following:fatigue; frequent urination; unusual thirst; and unexplained weight loss. In type 1 diabetes, the symptoms usually progress quickly and are often dramatic. In type 2 diabetes, symptoms are slower to progress. However, it is important to note that many people who have type 2 diabetes may have no symptoms. These people may find out they have type 2 diabetes when they go to the doctor for another, unrelated problem. The Health Risks of Type 2 Diabetes Diabetes is a lifelong condition. High blood glucose levels over a long period of time can cause:blindness; hart disease; reduced blood supply to the limbs, leading to amputation; nerve damage; erectile dysfunction; and stroke. Although there is no cure for diabetes, the condition can be managed by medication and/or insulin, and by maki...
Five Ways to Prevent Insulin Resistance and Diabetes
2008-03-21 14:37:00
A Couple people asked why I focus on Type 2 Diabetes . I guess the answer is simply that my husband was treated so 'offhandedly' when he was diagnoses. The nurses who read of the list of 'dos and dont's' were not able to tell him why. In fact, when he mentioned that one item was on the USA diabetes association's 'danger list' the nurse replied 'Oh, that is in the USA, not Canada." What? Does that mean that people in the USA have different types of Diabetes than Canadians? Of course not. The nurse just didn't care about my husband's health. She just wanted her paycheck.Do not let the health aids apathy make you believe that Type 2 is a 'lesser' and milder form of diabetes. It is just not true.Five Ways to Prevent Insulin Resistance and DiabetesInsulin resistance has become one of the most widespread health problems in America. High-stress lifestyles, too much chemical laden, high-carb processed food and a lack of exercise have created an epidemic of insulin resistance and...
Viral Video Film Festival - What Is It?
2008-03-21 14:22:00
I love film festivals. They give me a chance to see art without being hit with ads for coke, or having a movie's plot altered to advertise the newest version of SUV to be released next year. I haven't been to a Viral Film Festival yet, but will be at www.viralfilmfestival.com The funny thing is, viral video is the newest form of advertising. This viral video revolution created a new marketing vehicle: contagious, raw, edgy and funny content sent via web - user to users, like a virus…Do you have a good video, or know one? You can submit them to www.viralfilmfestival.com. I'll be there on April 28, 2008. Maybe we can chat if they have a forum, and vote. If you are in New York, then consider attending.Life Just Keep Getting Better And Better

Males Take Note: Singing is the Way to a Partner's Heart
2008-03-21 13:47:00
This is so true. I live for my husband's smiles. No matter how bad the situation is, if he smiles at me, I relax. He has learned this truth. If he wants control of a situation, then smile. I am far more likely to give him control of a situation if he smiles and I 'feel' that he has everything in hand, than if he gets angry or starts arguing with me.A smile is an emotional way to tell a woman that everything is all right, you are in control, and you don't see why everyone else is upset.Males Take Note : Singing is the Way to a Partner's Heart You're a warm-blooded male, you're desperate to find someone special and you reckon you've tried everything? Well here's a tip from the experts: try singing. Australian scientists have found that bursting into song is a sure-fire way to attract the attention of passing females. But before you try it in public, a word of caution. The researchers were working in the Pacific Ocean. And they were studying humpback whales. The marine biologist...
How to Mend Fast From a Broken Past Relationship - Part Three
2008-03-21 13:42:00
What are emotions? Why do they control us? Why do they ruin our futures? I think emotions are nothing more than memories. They are memories that we want vengeance for. As my mother said 'we were determined to get our pound of flesh.' These memories do not care who we make pay for the crimes done to us - they just want retribution.Even if we get it, that doesn't make the memory go away, so later, we continue the vicious cycle, again, and again...How to Mend Fast From a Broken Past Relationship - Part ThreeThis is the third phase of your worthwhile series on "mending fast from a broken emotional past." The quickest and most effective way to move from one stage to the next in life and love is through a personal spiritual awakening or practical enlightenment, which you can incorporate and use in your everyday life. There is nothing more refreshing than an internal spiritual renewal. In this state, old memories and emotionally-unhealthy experiences will be tossed away and your total b...
Oyster Challenge
2008-03-21 12:47:00
I was just challenged to imagine that something other than a pearl. I love these challenges. I think that if I had a choice then I would love it if oysters gave pink diamonds. Small, round, perfectly smooth pink diamonds. The challenge came from the website where I've been learning about Gulf oysters. It is fun to play 'challenge games like this one.' I do it with friends all the time. It breaks up the monotony of the day. Of course, I should have been getting ready for bed instead of reading about oysters. My husband loves to cook and is on the cooking Chanel all the time. Ramsey is his hero.I watched a show where Ramsey balled out a chef because he opened the oyster shells before the dinner service. He ranted that the oysters were dead. That you should never kill them and let them site for hours. I laughed and chimed in that was true unless you prepared them right. My husband didn't believe that I knew anything about cooking - or was brave enough to challenge his hero. However, ...

Couple Relationship Secret - 2 Ideas for Romancing your Partner
2008-03-21 12:27:00
The most heart breaking time of my life was the first few months after I married. My first husband did all the right things. He courted me, bought me gifts, talked to me. Then, after the marriage, he treated me like a house servant. In his defense, he was only acting the way his father taught him to. He married a wife so he had someone to clean his house. The second time I married, I made sure that the person I married knew that I was not a house servant, and that I expected the romance to continue. This was not a fail safe, but it did set the ground for future growth. After some rough spots, we learned that romance was not an imposition, it was fun. We are still dating, and teaching our son how to continue the romance after he marries.Couple Relationship Secret - 2 Ideas for Romancing your Partner When you meet that special someone, the first 6 six months is super hot and heavy. Diabetes Stats: Binging
2008-03-21 12:20:00
Most people do not understand the damage binging can do to your body, until you have Diabetes . One of the main causes of type 2 dibestes is binging. That is how my husband became diabetic. He will go for days only eating lightly, then he will pile a plate high at 10pm (between 10 - 12) and then sit down and wolf it all in. Or, he will go for weeks without touching pop, and then drink 2 or 3 bottles of pop in a weekend.I read a report based on women, binge eating and diabetes.Binge eating typically involves episodes of gorging large amounts of food as well as experiencing a loss of control of eating during those episodes. Binge eaters do not use vomiting or other behaviours to compensate for their binges.'This study shows that binge eating disorders may contribute to the onset of diabetes,' Dr Kenardy said. Wedding Invitations
2008-03-21 11:26:00
The success of my 'romance: second time around' articles has shown me that my readers want to hear more about love and romance. It brings up something in my life. I never invested much into my second wedding. It was more of a Christmas party than a wedding. This sounded like a good decision at the time, but I think it left me with a loss that I'll never have back. So I am going to post about the importance of cherishing your second relationship as you did the first. I would choose these invitations if I knew then what I knew now. I would have inscribed them with a precious verse that gave insight to the lessons I've learned about love and relationships. I think the Beach Wedding Invitations make a real statement about starting over, and the importance of enjoying life and 'stopping to enjoy life.'I like classic elegance in a wedding invitation. I might have chosen this one, but I really don't think this is the message I wanted to give people the second time around. A Wedding ...
When your Partner Doesn?t Talk
2008-03-20 23:52:00
Why do women need to hear men talk? Easy, because women are social. But, men do not need to 'take it.' My husband has times when I can bug him and talk. He also set a timme limit. I can talk about anything I want, and he will listen, for 1 hour, before 10PM. This means he turns the television off and looks at me.Now, this is a win-win situation. I no longer wake him up crying at night, something that makes him frustrated and angry - because he can't fix it. He also doesn't have me become so frustrated that I wake him at 3am to talk for 3 hours. I get my chance to let it out - when he is not frustrated. I have learned that this is a gift he gives me, so I try to keep it short, and I try not to talk for more than once a week. I also make sure I don't interrupt a sports event. When your Partner Doesn?t Talk 'In cafés, restaurants and at the water cooler women complain that men don?t talk about their feelings. Admittedly, this is a stereotype.. Some women don?t talk and some men do...

Know Something About Exchange Diet
2008-03-20 23:32:00
I've been concerned with my husband's diabetes lateley. He has a hard time managing his eating disorders, mainly because he suffers from problems caused by an industrial accident 25 years ago. The problem is that companies were not as repsonsible for damage their neglegence did to workers, and workman's comp's only mandate was to get people back to work...even if it ment lying about the true extent of their injuries. My husband, who had been dead for 10 minutes - twice - was deemed 'fit' to return to work 8 weeks later, despite the fact he had lost 28% of his nerves, and 10% of his muscle mass had been cut away. This left him on his own to manage the mental trauma. One way he did this was by eating to feel 'content.'Know Something About Exchange Diet The exchange diet is one that admits you to select and opt the foods you consume from each one of the six food groupings based on allot sizes.Once you start consuming with these dieting, it may appear similar like numerous work ...
Weight Loss Surgery
2008-03-20 22:03:00
We babysit a dog over the Christmas Holiday. Let me tell the whole story. My husband's friend had to go for surgery to help him loose weight. He didn't listen to the doctor and ended up back in the clinic. He had a band around his stomach that would make it impossible for him to eat. Surgery for weight loss was his only choice.I actually felt glad for him. The only similar thing I can find on the web is LAP-BAND.LAP-BAND is adjustable and reversible. I found a lot of information on this weight loss tampa clinic. The pictures are not alarming at http://www.journeylite.comThis is a good clinic with wide hallways, chairs without arms, restrooms with handicap railings, and a soothing environment to make sure clients comfort is put first.I always insist this in any of the cosmetic surgery clinics I talk about. For most, this surgery is a lifestyle enhancement procedure and should equate a vacation - not a life saving hospital stay.Life Just Keep Getting Better And Better

Let's Take a REAL Look at Life Expectancy
2008-03-20 19:02:00
These numbers are from a report in 2000the US population included 35.0 million people 65 and over. This number represents a 12% increase since 1990. The older population is growing.Between 1990 and 2000, the total population increased by 13.2 percent, from 248.7 million to 281.4 million people. The population 65 years and over increasedby 12.0 percent. In 2000, there were 18.4 million people ages 65 to 74 years old, representing 53% of the 'mature' population in the US.That means the total 'mature' population was about 37 - 40 million people. Or, to put this in perspective, the population of 'mature adults' in the USA exceeds the total population of Canada in 2007. In 1960, only 7% of the Canadian population was over 65. Currently 11% of the population has reached this level, and in 2016 they expect that 16% of the population will be over 65. Currently, 4.4 million people in Canada are over 65. This is a lot of people who 'beat the odds.' It is hard to imagine that about 1...

How Long Will You Live
2008-03-20 18:14:00
I spent the morning looking through life expectancy charts. At first they were rather daunting. There are the world life expectancy charts which provide very vague numbers, and have no relevance to your current age, lifestyle, or mitigating circumstances. If you are Canadian, expect to life between 70 - 75. If you are from the United Kingdom then you get to live to 77 - 80 years old.. a bit less if you are from the United States. But, if you read the UK government's forms you get a bit of a different picture. If you are a male, and 44 years old, then you have a 50% chance of reaching 93. If you are male, and 60 years old, you have a 16 - 20% chance of reaching 93 years old. Canadians can expect to live between 75 and 80 for all income brackets, male and female. Americans born in 1980 (sorry, can't find older stats) can expect to live to 73.The general numbers are not too far off. If you were a male born in 1850 then you had a 10% chance of living until 70 years old and 11.5% for wom...

The Car Accident
2008-03-20 15:26:00
I'm starting to notice the effects of being stuck in the house all winter. I had a rude awakening this morning. I woke to the news report of a three car accident in my town. I guess this isn't news for many of my readers, but in a small town of less than 300, where horse and buggy out numbers cars, it is quite a shock. The main road is closed - one car is still on fire at this moment. Emergency vehicles are racing back and forth. The radio ominously announced that there is at least one fatality. Sometimes I just forget that life is precious. In our hectic daily routines we rarely stop to remember this. Life seems to be an indefinite, even at our age, then something happens to wake us up to the fact that we need to slow down and enjoy every day.Life Just Keep Getting Better And Better

Have Fun Online - Free - Win Money
2008-03-20 15:15:00
There are very few places to have real fun online. I like to take breaks from work every so often. It helps my mind rest, and it changes my position, but I don't want to play children's games. This limits the sites I play on. I prefer to play games and online contests like the ones found at BreakTheVault.com. Their game is like playing a cross between clue and chess.A new contest starts Monday at noon. Each day at noon a new clue is released, the old one is gone - miss a day - miss a clue. There is always at least once contest running at any. The contests are free to play and you can win cash, around $200.00. The only drawback is that you must live in the USA. I can't play, but I thought you'd love to know about this fun opportunity to have some fun and win a little money. Life Just Keep Getting Better And Better

Home Remedies for Diabetes Treatment
2008-03-19 23:14:00
We have added garlic and cinnamon to our diets. I am not sure about the author of this post, but I do think they wrote a good article on diabetes. We've also been told that colon cleansing will help. Our combination of 'changing our mindset' - 'changing our diet' -and 'cleansing our bodies' has not reduced the amount of time my husband sleeps. He does not urinate all the time. But, it has given me a boost. I sleep less, eat less, and have more energy.Home Remedies for Diabetes Treatment Diabetes or madhumeh as per ayurveda is a disease in which there is improper functioning of insulin and as a result sugar level in the blood increases. Diabetes may cause heart problem, kidney failure, blurred vision if not treated timely. Diabetes is a lifelong, chronic health condition, in which the body is unable to break down sugar so the sugar levels are high in the blood, and also can't produce insulin or have resistance to insulin and therefore loses energy. It is also caused due to incr...

Some Useful Tips for a Successful Relationship
2008-03-19 23:04:00
I remember listening to the radio one day while my husband and I had a long car trip. Hour after hour the men on the radio cried over the fact that their wives left them. I turned to my husband and said "You know, if they put 1/2 the effort into their wives and they are doing crying over losing them - they'd still be married.' My husband paused, but had to agree. Men have the bad habit of investing more time into crying over lost love than they put into keeping their marriage. It is something to think about. Some Useful Tips for a Successful Relationship Many people are using online dating as an alternative to meeting new people, people we would never have met had it not been for online dating. The idea of finding an activity partner, soul-mate, or a pen pal is somewhat new to us. However, thousands of people have had success at finding a partner through the use of an online dating site. But how can you guarantee the success of your newly found relationship? In this article we will ...

UK Banks Overcharging Clients
2008-03-19 22:04:00
There has been a lot of news coverage highlighting the "underhand methods" UK Banks are using to discourage customers from claiming back fees. They are fighting hard to regain billions in lost income over the last few years.Consumer watchdog Which? reported that banks were gouging consumers, charging fees for closing accounts, delaying statements, adding admin charges, and releasing customer details to debt collection agencies. The survey found that one in four UK adults have were charged a £30 overdraft fee. Which? Claims that "slipping into unauthorized overdraft is more often than not a genuine mistake".Personal finance campaigner at Which? Doug Taylor said: "In an attempt to avoid paying consumers what they are due, we have found that banks are employing increasingly underhand methods to avoid their responsibility to treat their customers fairly and refund the charges."However, the British Bankers' Association (BBA) has accused the report as "headline-grabbing" and "sensationali...

How To Win a Woman's Love
2008-03-18 23:12:00
I once talked to a famous marriage therapist who said that 'once a woman decides to leave, there is no winning her back.' He didn't say this to disparage women, but to remind men that women do not forgive indefinitely. They do have limits. Women were forgiving, but they won't be treated like a door mat forever. The time to 'save your marriage' is long before you find how far she will let you push her. My new husband puts it this way 'you can either give your wife your time now, or your money later.'How To Get Your Girlfriend Back: Shocking TruthIn this article, we're going to talk about the common mistakes most all men make when trying to get their girlfriend back. Learn to Be a Caring Person
2008-03-18 23:08:00
If you do not want to care about the people in your lives, then your relationships are doomed to fail. Do you really believe that someone wants to marry you - just to feed your selfish needs with nothing in return? No emotionally healthy woman marries to have someone else 'pay the bills.'I once heard a public speaker say 'if you want to know why your relationships are not working - look in the mirror.'This is so true. If you are not attracting emotionally healthy people, then you are not emotionally healthy. Before trying to 'fix' the other person - try fixing yourself. The School of Caring: Learn ing to Be a Caring Person It is a loaded question, but one that will determine how you deal with others, particularly with the women you wish to get to know better, date, and eventually enjoy romantic times with. Early in our dating lives, the object is very often about your needs. You are interested in spending time with the most beautiful, sexy, and exciting women you can find and ma...

My First Oyster Meal

I ate oysters for the first time when I visited Newfoundland. I was at a buffet and there were oysters in the shell with a red sauce. The oysters intregued me. I had't heard of sushi or raw fish before. When the gentleman said to just let them slide down my throat, I thought he was joking. My, how life changes. Now I love oysters. They are one of my favorite foods. Our local grocery store sells Gulf oysters . I only eat Gulf Oysters that have been processed properly after visiting BeOysterAware.com.I wasn't aware that raw oysers could be dangerous. Enjoy Life More Without Sleep Deprivation
2008-03-18 22:50:00
You may not even know how much sleep deprivation is affecting your life right now. You may wonder why you're having trouble completing a task at work that used to be easy for you. Friends may notice an edge of irritability that is surprising given your normal disposition. Or you may even notice that you're getting sick a lot more often, catching a cold or coming down with the flu when you used to be the healthy one.If you even suspect that you may be suffering the effects of sleep deprivation, you need to take a look at the patterns and quality of your sleep. Improving your rest doesn't always mean taking sleeping pills. There are several natural alternatives and lifestyle choices available that could make a big difference in the quality of rest you get at night, which directly affects your quality of life during the day.A recent medical study determined that sleep deprivation even changes the way your brain functions when you try to accomplish various tasks. Healthy Aging and Marriage
2008-03-18 22:40:00
I don't really do compatability tests. You are either interested in creating a relationship, or you just want to manipulate others to get your own way. But, aging can cause problems. What happens if one person has a stroke? The other person may be forced into a caregiver's roll they are not prepared to handle. After all - not all of use are born nurses. There are so many health problems that can destroy a marriage, leaving one person a widower while the other is still alive. I hope you never understand the truth behind that statement.Healthy Aging and Marriage Aging is a fact of life; nothing that we do or say can really change this fact. As we all get older, our health is going to change as well; hopefully good health stays with our families and loved ones as long as possible, but sometimes we just aren't that lucky, and fate deals us a different hand than we expected. What exactly are we supposed to do? How should we deal with it?Some people deal with aging better than others. Ar...

Emotional Triggers in Relationships
2008-03-17 05:55:00
The first step to emotional health is to be able to understand, and identify, emotional triggers. An emotional trigger is something you may never notice. It can be a hand motion, a setting, a word. It is something that takes you back to a traumatic time. It causes you to hurt those around you - without understanding why. Admitting that you have triggers is the first step. Learning about them, and sharing them with your family is step two. Giving them the power to help you overcome their power is the last step. All three together will take you to a place where you are emotionally healthier and enjoy better relationships.Emotional Triggers in Relationships Most of the anxiety and frustration that exists in relationships can be avoided. The key is to be aware of the emotional triggers that each and every one of us possesses. Unfortunately, the majority of people will wait until these triggers have had their strongest impact and, not knowing how to deal with them, find themselves eith...

Our Emotional Triggers
2008-03-17 05:51:00
Admiting that we are not the person we 'think' we see in the mirror is the first step to emotional health and happiness. I knew one many who wanted to be loved. He went to councilour after councilor who couldn't help. His wife loved him, but everything she did for him 'turned to ash.' That is because this man didn't understand a few truths about love. 1. Love is something you give - not receive. If you don't give love, then you won't feel loved. 2. Love is a mindset. You must be emotionally healthy if you want to feel loved. 3. Love is built on trust. People cannot love you - You cannot love people - unless you are emotionally healthy.4. You can fix problems in a relationship by healing yourself ( disable your emotional triggers) ...It never works if you try to fix the other person. Our Emotional Triggers 'Anger', the pronunciation of this word conjures up fearful and unpleasant images in our mind; an emotion which we generally associate with senses of abuse, hurt, viole...

The Dream Comes True in a Second Marriage
2008-03-17 02:04:00
The dream of romance can come true in a second marriage. It did for me. I does for many - but not without a price. First, you need to look on sites such as MyFutureSpouse.com. Not, on dating and party sites. The truth is the same anywhere. You don't find a good husband at a bar. You don't find one on a site that attracts men by promoting sex.Internet dating can be tricky. Many of them have spam and bait profiles. Once you hit the site and pay for a profile, you find there are no more of those 'dream picks.' All members should be held accountable.I meant my second husband at a singles retreat for older people. We each had to attend seminars on developing good relationships. More over, they kept tight reign on the way we were promoting ourselves. There were accurate profiles that forced us to be honest. When dating online, it is imperative that you only use sites which force members to be honest. One great feature that MyFutureSpouse.com offers is a forum for members. Members can m...

Emotions As Information
2008-03-14 20:07:00
I once asked a professional how to handle emotions. They looked at me and said 'grow up.'At first I was offended, then I realized that they were right. Emotional outburst are a child's way of handing situations they have no control over. They are used to 'demand' attention from adults in a way that ensures the child's survival.Adults learn how to solve problems, manage stress, and nurture relationships. They master the art of controlling their emotions and using cognitive thinking over emotional outbursts to ensure their survival.Emotions As Information When you were a small child, your painful emotions may have felt too overwhelming to feel. If you experienced physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, your little body was not big enough to manage the painful feelings. If you were neglected, unseen, misunderstood, invaded, smothered, shamed or ridiculed, it may have felt too painful to manage. If you were a highly sensitive child with parents who did not understand high sensitivity...
