Weight Gain?
2008-01-23 23:57:00
Hey Everyone, I'm so afraid to step on my scale. I've been quit for almost 2 weeks and I am almost positive that my eating habits have changed. In fact, I know they have. I've noticed myself eating more.. Unfortuantly it sucks to admit that I used smoking to suppress my appetite to stay fit. read more

Am on the verge
2008-01-23 04:32:00
I've decided I'm going to quit and even been to the doctor and have the prescription. My husband smokes too and he's going to stop with me. The doctor told us to choose a stop date together, which we haven't done yet. I've been reading the blogs and figuring I still need to change my mind set before I get started. Reading the blogs is helping....it keeps me focused on my goal. read more
Hi Everyone-I'm the new kid on the block
2008-01-23 01:22:00
I started Chantix on 1/8/2008 and have gone from 2 packs of cigarettes to just 2 cigarettes. The first week I lost just about 1 pack of cigarettes a day. I'm feeling pretty good. I had been smoking for 31 years. I told myself that this is the year I'm going to do it. I lost my Mom back in August and my Dad died of lung and colon cancer so it was time for me to quit. read more

My thoughts on my side effects.
2008-01-19 11:56:00
Yeah, Friday night sucks when it comes to not smoking! Especially when others at my house are. I think that is what has kept me up so long. That, and I'm a night owl. My thoughts on the side effects are biased and I would like to explain why. It's not just because I want to argue, although I do like a good argument. :) I hope nobody takes offense to my arguments though. read more

Annoying Little Side Effects!
2008-01-18 18:56:00
I am miserable right now. It hurts to talk, eat, or swallow! I have had more mouth ulcers in the past 2 1/5 months then I have had in the last 10 years, maybe even 20 years! At one time I had 3 all at the same time. They last for about a week and then they're gone. Right now, I have one on either side of my tongue! read more

Tomorrow is D Day

I have been on Chantix 1.5 weeks now. I was at 1.5 packs a day. I am down to 10 cigs a day. Morning is hardest. I am good at work. Night is okay, not like the morning. I find doing the dishes immediately after eating helps stop the after dinner craving. read more

Quitting Smoking Is Long
2008-01-17 08:21:00
If you are reading this, you are most likely thinking about quitting.  Well, it will be a long process, and often a quite long process.  I hope you don't take this as I'm setting you up for failure.  No, on opposite I want you to succeed with all my heart and mind.  read more

The Fight And More Confessions
2007-12-23 22:18:00
My fight with my addiction is becoming epic!  I am on and off the past month and a half.  I just want to stop but something takes over me, and I keep coming back.  Like last week, for instance.  I quit for 6 days!  Then picked up a pack.   Yesterday I didn't smoke for one day, and didn't really want to, but still went and bought a pack.   read more

3 Days
2007-11-17 05:15:00
3 Days went by. No super withdrawal....and I don't think it's all Chantix. I've been smoking for too little to have a major withdrawal. So physically, I'm over it all. Psychologically, I'm still getting there. Mostly, I'm just sadly settling with the reality that it's really pointless to smoke. (yes! all over again!) read more

Second 0.5 mg Pill, And No More Ciggies
2007-11-14 06:06:00
Took my second 0.5 mg pill just an hour ago, and smoked my last cigarette.  Finally, I'm starting to feel Chantix help me not want to smoke.  I actually resisted an urge to buy another pack at 7-Eleven, and I think I could've caved and bought one more.  So now it's just living through this week, and then back to my newly learned normality of things, which excludes smoking.
A First Pill Not So First
2007-11-13 15:14:00
Just took my first 0.5 mg Chantix pill.  Believe it or not, I had some hesitation to do it, which kind of scares me.  After all the past months of loving it, I hesitated to get back on track?  Human mind and biochemistry are such complex phenomena.    read more
Senators To Study "Light" Cigarettes
2007-11-13 13:05:00
It seems there's a new study on the way, approved by the feds.  Hopefully, something will be done to change the fact that smokers of light cigarettes are inhaling more tar.  It scares me that it took them so long to start this inquiry.  read more

Confessions
2007-11-12 22:14:00
I went to visit my parents in the fomer Soviet Union from November 2 till November 8. I started smoking sitting in the Moscow airport. Everyone smokes there everywhere - inside and outside, but that's a story for another post. Right now I've nullified my hard work of 4.5 months...not in the sense that I'm hopeless but in the sense that now I have to fight this crazy addiction again (and I am going to finish my Chantix stash from the summer). read more
