6 Weeks Yesterday
2007-08-06 18:49:00 Wow, the time has gone by so fast. Since I was moving my blog to here from its previous location, I practically relived my experience during my quit. What a trip it has been. For sure, it has been the greatest experience, though. I am so glad I decided to go with Chantix. Looking back, I was behaving pretty erratically most of the first month off nicotine, and I can't imagine what kind of crazy things I'd be up for without Chantix smoothing out the edges the first weeks (and it was). read more More About: Yesterday , Este , Weeks
Global Warming
2007-08-04 06:37:00 I don't know if you are already experiencing the infamous global warming, but I think it's the Armageddon time (with knees shivering, and heart racing). Take a seat before you will desperately search for the signs of thereof in this image to the left. The world is most certainly going to come crashing down when everyone in Los Angeles finds out that ... it s.n.o.w.e.d. in Southern California in the beginning of August (in absolute awe). Like you have no idea. Just imagine millions' lives ruined by this occurrence, dreams shattered, flocks of fake superficial people massively filling highways fleeting this no-longer-eternal-land-of-sunshine. read more More About: Global Warming , Global , Ming , Armin
To All The Bloggers and Readers
2007-08-02 22:54:00 Do you even realize what we are doing here? Not only we are documenting very well our quits with Chantix, but we're also creating a great support foundation for ourselves and all those wanting to quit. Like it says on Chantix website and everywhere else - having psychological support greatly increases one's chance of quitting successfully long-term! In fact, I am a firm believer that it's the support that really makes people stay quit for over one year (and it's only 5% of quitters that statistically make it past one year mark). So, guys, let us all stick together! Thank you for being there, taking your time to share and provide support! More About: Readers , Bloggers , Blogg
Mother An Alcoholic
2007-08-02 08:50:00 Dealing with tons of stress. My mom had become an alcoholic some ten years ago. Given that I was pretty much out of my parents' house 9 years ago at the age of 16, I have stayed away from that insanity and yet I've been so involved with it all emotionally and psychologically, and I think it is getting to me now. I tried to stay detached lately, once I learned that it's a disease my mom has, and there's not much I can do except to show her my love for her, no matter how hard it is in the moments when she's barely coherent. read more More About: Mother
Did Chantix Help?
2007-07-31 07:46:00 Did Chan tix help? That's the question of the day for me. I still have yucky moments once in a while, but they are becoming very infrequent. I feel good generally. I know I can win this fight now. In fact, I feel extremely confident now, compared to my 2.5 month quit last year. Did Chant ix make a difference? Chantix did help with the withdrawal from nicotine, which is important. Did it do anything else, though? I have mixed feelings about it all. Yes, the dreading of withdrawal was delaying my actual quitting. No, I would never stay quit if I wasn't ready for it and didn't fight it. I presume it's possible to assign the medication a facilitating role in the process, but it's all very hard to quantify and qualify as none of us know the exact workings of the drug and our brains. read more
My 100th Post and Fatigue
2007-07-30 19:52:00 I have been so extremely fatigued the past 4 days or so. I have been normally experience some fatigue for years now, but sleeping for 16 hours in a row is not a norm for me. On Friday night went to sleep at 8pm - didn't even turn off the lights (I can't sleep with lights on!) - and didn't wake up till 12pm on Saturday!! That is just plain ridiculous! I had been resting well during the week, so nothing precipitates that sort of hibernation. Last night, too, I got my usual hours of sleep, and right now I am having such a very hard time keeping my eyes open. It's excruciating. read more More About: Post
Quick Check-In
More articles from this author:2007-07-29 23:58:00 Stan is alive and kicking. Enjoying the newly found freedom. All the issues seem to have subsided. Now it's just a bliss of life. Very, very occasional discomfort without anything in particular hurting, but it is very rare and quickly lets go of me. Every day seems to be wonderful now. It's like all of a sudden last week a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Ok, I hope it stays like this. I don't want no more downs, just ups. :) Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
