My Chantix Experience
2008-05-05 06:29:00 I am 62 years old and had been smoking for almost 44 years. I started smoking during basic training in 1964. Later in my life, I had tried to quit a few times, with patches, cold turkey, cutting down... nothing worked. Then along comes Chantix. What I was reading about the product impressed me. read more More About: Experience
Cancer Scare and now 9 days
2008-05-03 21:28:00 Well today is 9 days and I am really craving a smoke. I had to cut down to 1 Chantix per day and my cravings returned. To make a long story short, I have tried quitting several times in the past year- but never made it more than 2 days and would start back and quit the Chantix. Then, I got a lung infection, ended up in the hospital and they found a problem in my left lung. read more More About: Cancer , Days

That was one of the 1st things I noticed and that I'm not coughing much either. Are you hanging in there Stan? I'm not nearly as moody as I was the first time around. 30 Days
2008-03-18 23:54:00 Hello everyone. Thought I would check in at my 30 day mark. Cannot even believe it's been 30 days. I am still having some cravings, though diminishing...and get a bit "on edge" in highly loud or stressful situations (they seem a bit amplified) Just got back from a vaca @ Disney World. It was really nice not to deal w/ the whole smoking while traveling thing. read more More About: Days
My Chantix friends!
2008-03-17 08:29:00 hey there! I'm sorry for not being around lately, I've been so busy it seems with life, between life and school I'm having a hard time staying afloat. Smoking sucks. it really does. What is the point of buying Cologne for me, or perfume for the ladies if only the nasty cigerettes are just going to cover it up? read more More About: Friends
An early Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you!!!!
2008-03-17 03:25:00 Hope all is well with everyone. I decided the 17th is my new quit date. I was going to do it this weekend but, ended up going to Charlotte with 2 people that both smoke and we took someone else's car that does smoke. Didn't figure that would be very fair to any of us. I have taken my Chantix each day and not really smoking a lot. I did pretty well yesterday considering the temptations I had. read more More About: Happy , Early

It will happen for all of you too! read more
Night 2 down
2008-03-13 05:42:00 I made it through my second smoke free day! It helps that I had to work late and then had to write a short essay on unrestricted international trade when I got home - uugghh! Kept me occupied though. I have to admit I really wanted to smoke when I was trying to figure out what the heck I was going to write but I hung in there and got past it. read more More About: Night

Chantix was my one true chance at finally quitting....
2008-03-12 00:10:00 But unfortunately for me, I'm one of the lucky 1% of patients that experienced unbearable itching shortly after starting week 2. I had such high hopes...I really felt it working. Normally, the first thing I do when I wake up is have a smoke. On day 9, I noticed I didn't really want one, especially after a big breakfast. But on day 11, the itching began. read more More About: Chance , True , Finally , Quitting

Hi Everyone
2008-03-10 04:53:00 Hope you all are doing well. Tomorrow is my official new quit date. I'm back to taking 2 Chantix a day. I didn't stop the Chantix when I had the slip so it shouldn't be too difficult to get back on track again. I only had 2 cigs today so I am ready to take that next step again. I am confident and I will succeed. I noticed that I felt sooo much better not smoking than I did when I smoke. read more
Hi Guys and Gals
2008-03-07 04:22:00 Well, I'm back to square 1 starting tomorrow morning. I had a rough week. Cutting back on the Chantix was not the thing to do especially when you aren't quite ready. I'm dusting myself off and getting back on my horse again. I'm not going to give up on this. I got to 34 days before I had a meltdown. Back to work I go on this. Hope everyone is doing well and keep plugging. More About: Guys
