Ever feel like everyone else has all the answers to managing a perfect life, except for you? If so, you’re not alone. Most of us have that feeling at one time or another...and it is extremely unpleasant. We become filled with self-doubt, second-guess our choices, and flounder about, not sure what action to take next. Some parts of our lives may be running smooth as silk. While other parts fall embarrassingly short of what we had hoped for. Each day we sort of “wait for our real life to get started for us”. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Now you can have access to your very own customized roadmap for all aspects of your life...A map to refer to EVERY TIME you come to a crossroads in life...A map that unfailingly tells you which way to go...A map you can always reflect back on if you veer off course... See, you are the architect of your own life. And when you have a deeper understanding of how (and why) you’ve built your life, your work, and your relationships the way t...

Chakra 5: VishuddhaNow focus on a point in the front your neck halfway between your shoulder-blades and your chin. Imagine prana energy energising this area in particular. This is traditionally known as the vishuddha chakra. This chakra is apparently related to the thyroids, the rate of metabolism, and the lungs in the physical body. It also has the following more fluffy associations. Communication. The 'veil' between the manifest and unmanifest realms. Telepathy. Clairaudience. (Extra-sensory hearing).Chakra 6: AjnaNow focus on a point just above your eyes, behind your forehead. Visualise iridescent prana energising this area. This is traditionally known as the ajna chakra. The word ajna means 'command', in the sense of 'spiritual guidance', since by meditating on this chakra, the practitioner is reputed to enhance their ability to tune in to the highest, or deepest, levels of existence: that is, the tao, dharma, or buddha-nature rather than the mere karma that normally rul...

Imagine the iridescent prana energy that you absorb from the breath energising this area in particular. This is traditionally known as the svadisthana chakra. The svadisthana chakra is apparently related to the female ovaries and male testes in the physical body.It also has the following less concrete associations- think about each one in turn.A salmon-like orange-coloured centre, encircled by six white petals. The element of water. The moon.Ego.Sex energy.Survival instinct.Creavitity.Chakra 3: ManipuraNow focus on a point about one and a half inches below the navel. How to practise Chakra Meditation
2007-02-21 05:04:00
Choose a Posture you feel comfortable with. Then relax the body by concentrating on each part in turn, allowing the stress in that area to fall away.Spend a minute or two on this. Now focus on your breathing, allowing it to become deeper and more regular, without force. If your mind wanders off in any direction, gently bring it back to an awareness of each breath you take. Be aware of the passage of the air into and through your body. In your mind's eye try and follow it as it passes down into the lungs. Imagine the oxygen being taken from the breath, and imagine oxygen-rich blood flowing from the lungs to your heart. Try and visualise the heart distributing this red blood throughout the body, to all of your muscles and nerves and up into your brain. When the blood comes back to the lungs it brings back carbon dioxide waste which is breathed out. Sense the heart beating. Let your heart be relaxed, and efficient. Visualise the body in it's entirety. Think on how the body is a homeo...

The Introduction to chakra meditation
2007-02-21 04:59:00
More than 2,000 years ago the Hindu yogis of India made a special effort to tune in to, and map, the energies of the 'aura' or 'subtle body'. Since then various, sometimes contradictory, descriptions have come down to us via a number of different routes including 'tantric yoga', 'laya yoga', kundalini yoga' and (relatively recently) 'theosophy'. The apparent contradictions between different traditions surely illustrate that this can be a complex and difficult area to investigate. With that complexity in mind, however, I have attempted to supply here a simple introductory 'generic' chakra meditation that synthesises information from a number of sources. Not claiming to be an expert in this area, I would suggest that anyone wanting to go further with subtle body work should a) quite probably, find a teacher who knows what they ate talking about b) get clued up on the the different traditions alluded to above. It's appropriate that I emphasise that I am not naturally clai...

The Transcendental Meditation program
2007-02-20 04:54:00
The Transcendental Meditation program is a simple, mental technique, which gives a unique quality of rest to mind and body. It allows stress and tiredness to be released in a natural way, resulting in greater energy, clarity and enjoyment of life.A meta-analysis, the preferred scientific procedure for drawing definitive conclusions from large bodies of research, found Transcendental Meditation produced a significant increase in basal skin resistance compared to eyes-closed rest, indicating profound relaxation. Deep rest and relaxation were also indicated by greater decreases in respiration rates and plasma lactate levels compared to ordinary rest. These physiological changes occur spontaneously as the mind effortlessly settles to the state of restful alertness, pure consciousness. How long will it take?T wenty minutes, twice a day. Often this can be accommodated with no real change of routine. The TM technique can be practiced anywhere - sitting comfortably at home, in the office,...

The Law of Vibration: Everything in Motion
2007-02-19 04:51:00
This article is by AlanSeale. This  talks abou thoughts and vibrations a nd how they influence our life. Do read and get yourself enlighten! This is from www.ajna.comThe Law of Vibration states that everything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration. One of the highest and most potent forms of energy is thought. Thought is electrical energy, vibrating at a very fast frequency. You may have heard it said that thoughts are things. Ever y thought creates a vibration, which travels out into the universe and begins to take a form.Remember that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Therefore, that thought was borne of another energy form, and will exist in some form or another forever. This fact means that we have tremendous responsibility for monitoring and disciplining our thoughts. Our thoughts form energy fields that travel from our mind into our world. A passing thought will receive little energy, but if the thought begins to develop and you give...

ESSENTIAL ADVICE ON MEDITATION
2007-02-17 09:50:00
When you read books about meditation, or often when meditation is presented by different groups, much of the emphasis falls on the techniques. In the West, people tend to be very interested in the "technology" of meditation. However, by far the most important feature of meditation is not technique, but the way of being, the spirit, which is callled the "posture", a posture which is not so much physical, but more to do with spirit or attitude. It is well to recognize that when you start on a meditation practice, you are entering a totally different dimension of reality. Normally in life we put a great deal of effort into achieving things, and there is a lot of struggle involved, whereas meditation is just the opposite, it is a break from how we normally operate.Meditation is simply a question of being, of melting, like a piece of butter left in the sun. It has nothing to do with whether or not you "know" anything about it, in fact, each time you practice meditation it should be fresh...

How to control anger
2007-02-13 05:36:00
1 Give Yourself Permission to Express Anger .Our society does not allow us to express strong emotions. We are taught to hold in our emotions from the earliest age. This can have a profoundly negative effect on our overall health. It’s not wrong to express anger, fear, sadness, rage. In fact, it is healthy to release these emotions regularly. What’s wrong is when we hurt someone in the process. It is preferable to find safe ways to dump the negative feelings.2 Combine Mental and Physical Effort.Mental therapy alone may be extremely helpful for anger release, but it can only take you so far. Similarly, the physical act of doing exercise can help many people let off steam, but it may not remove deep-seated anger. The most effective process is when you can combine both the mental and physical effort. This is when you do a particular physical activity along with the mental intention of releasing the anger. Please see the next step for specific examples of how to combine the mental a...

Resistance Encountered While Meditating
2007-02-13 05:24:00
How many people have decided to really do the work and regularly meditate? And how many people have also seen that the minute they decide to do this, that the world suddenly and urgently request their attention. The minute they sit for meditation, the phone will ring incessantly (even though not a single person has called all day previous to this). Suddenly someone will turn up at the front door knocking loudly. The dog next door has now decided to test it's vocal chords and the man across the road agreed that now was the time to mow that long grass. The new neighbors down the street are getting all their furniture delivered and the airport has decided that the best flight path for incoming aircraft is directly over your house. Even with headphones on you can still hear the man next door starting up his electric power tools - he has just discovered his interest in making furniture. The kids down the block think that a rowdy game of chasing is just the thing to do. In desperation, yo...

Emotional Intelligence for Children
2007-02-12 06:20:00
While browsing your local bookstore, you have probably seen Daniel Goleman's book, "Emotional Intel ligence " one of the books that spun off from it. Most of the experts agree that emotional intelligence is a vital part of a person's overall intelligence. I found that when I looked at this particular aspect of my children's growth, it opened many doors for us and strengthened my children's abilities to deal with obstacles. Let's look at more than IQ; let's look at EQ.How do we identify emotional intelligence? One of the simple tests administered to young children involves postponing fulfillment in order to receive a bigger reward. The researcher puts a marshmallow on the table and tells the child he can either eat it now or wait until the researcher comes back with a second marshmallow, then eat both. A child who is able to control bodily appetites long enough to earn the bigger reward is considered to more emotionally intelligent. The premise is that the ability to control one...

Emotional Intelligence
2007-02-07 12:30:00
In a 1994 report on the current state of emotional literacy in the U.S., author Daniel Goleman stated: "...in navigating our lives, it is our fears and envies, our rages and depressions, our worries and anxieties that steer us day to day. Even the most academically brilliant among us are vulnerable to being undone by unruly emotions. The price we pay for emotional literacy is in failed marriages and troubled families, in stunted social and work lives, in deteriorating physical health and mental anguish and, as a society, in tragedies such as killings..." Goleman attests that the best remedy for battling our emotional shortcomings is preventive medicine. In other words, we need to place as much importance on teaching our children the essential skills of Emotion al Intel ligence as we do on more traditional measures like IQ and GPA.Exactly what is Emotional Intelligence ? The term encompasses the following five characteristics and abilities: Self-awareness--knowing your emotions, recogni...

I WOULD LIKE TO INTERPRET OR ANALYZE MY DREAMS - HOW SHOULD I DO IT?
2007-02-07 11:34:00
First, a disclaimer of sorts: Rev. Jeremy Taylor asserts that "All dreams come in the service of health and wholeness," even (especially?) the ones that may initially upset or confuse us. Even so, dreams can be powerful experiences, and dreams do have the potential to unleash some very deep and raw emotions. If you think it would probably be fun and spiritually uplifting to try your hand at dream analysis/interpretation, by all means go ahead. If, on the other hand, you actually suspect that you have a serious emotional disturbance and you are hoping that dream work would really be a form of do-it-yourself psychotherapy, please consider picking up the phone and calling in a professional person to guide you through the process. If you do decide to go it on your own, I think it is wise to follow Taylor's advice, and consciously seek to identify (and actualize) dream messages that facilitate a more positive, loving, and healthful life. Don't EVER allow your dreams to encourage you to...

How do we dream?
2007-02-07 10:38:00
Understanding the sleep cycle is the first important part of understanding dreams and how dreams happen. The average human being spends eight hours a day, fifty six hours a week, two hundred twenty-four hours a month, and two thousand, six hundred eighty-eight hours a year sleeping.Sleep is thought to be made of two basic forms known as slow wave sleep (SWS) and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. Humans seem to go through four really sharp stages of SWS and then enter REM sleep. The four stages plus REM are mostly happen various times every nightly sleep cycle. While awake and alert, a human's EEGs (electroencephalograms) contain beta waves at 14-30 Hz, which is relatively high frequency and low voltage activity. When the human is resting and quiet, the EEGs have alpha waves at 8-13 Hz with slightly higher voltage. As humans begin to fall asleep, the EEGs have slower, higher-voltage delta waves, which are a large number of brain neurons (e.g., nerves) firing in unison. The myth is that...

Why do we dream?
2007-02-07 10:34:00
Two different schools of thought exist as to why we dream: the physiological school, and the psychological school. Both, however, agree that we dream during the REM, or rapid eye movement, phase of sleep. During this phase of sleep, our closed eyes dart rapidly about, our brain activity peaks, and our muscles suffer temporary paralysis. The physiological theory centers upon how our body, specifically our brains, function during the REM phase of sleep. Proponents of this theory believe that we dream to exercise the synapses, or pathways, between brain cells, and that dreaming takes over where the active and awake brain leaves off. When awake, our brains constantly transmit and receive messages, which course through our billions of brain cells to their appropriate destinations, and keep our bodies in perpetual motion. Dream s replace this function. Two underpinning physiological facts go towards supporting this theory of dreams. The first lies in the fact that the first two or so years of...
