I felt the rising of the rice price even if I live here in Saudi Arabia because I used to buy rice here less than $1 per sack of rice here before. That is a 5Kg per sack! Later on as I read the new paper I found out that countries like Thailand has increased their rice price in the world market. Philippine is doing the same but I think Philippines itself can not support its people alone. Philippines as far as I know used to buy rice from Thailand and other neighboring countries. I think this is just right because the oil rich countries are selling their oil or gasoline very high too that all part of the world are affected. But you if I am in the Philippines, I don't worry too much about rice because I eat other root craft like sweet potatoes and cassava. I also love planting vegetables in my backyard. If you have extra piece of land I think it it is better to plan vegetables and save money on it.

How to save electricity in your house?

I was shocked to learn that we paid a big amount of money in our latest current bill. We are new in our apartment and we are in the time of adjusting so I don't know if what other appliances are we using and not monitoring. Right now we have microwave oven and a refrigerator. We also have Internet connection and in my own case I am using my laptop to browse online. As what I did before in our old villa or apartment, turned off all appliances and lamp if nobody is around or using them. Our refrigerator is set to three just to chill the vegetable storage and make the frozen foods in frozen state. I also turn off the water heater because it is now getting hot here in Saudi Arabia. Last week my classmate went online so I chat with him. We are best of friend when we were in college and I trust him then. This week I have a running nose and a little fever. I could not help but be affected by the climate changed that we have here after winter. In the morning it is very cold but at noon it is very hot plus the Sand storms that carries dust and small particles from trees which can cause allergy if you are prone to it. In my case I have a problem with abrupt change of climate.We bought an AC but the problem is when the compressor worked, it produced noise which is annoying to our ear. We bought it in the second hand store so you can not expect a perfect one. This is the result of saving money with lacked of AC knowledge.
