Funny StoryToday while I had two of my daycare children at the potty, one of them started telling me that she would get a big sucker from her parents when she learned to poop in the potty. Although many parents give their children rewards for using the potty this became humorous when she informed me that she would get a "poopoo" sucker for pooping in the potty.I had to control the laughing because she was serious about this discussion. Make Your Child Feel ConfidentI have a little boy in my class who has just started wearing "big boy" underwear. At first he wasn?t sure that he liked wearing underwear to daycare. He had been sick for a few days just before his parents decided to take him out of diapers.So not only had he been sick and missed a few days of daycare but now he had to give up his security of wearing diapers. When he came back to daycare he wanted to go home. He had to get used to being in daycare again. Attention getterI have a child in my daycare class who likes to take things away from the other children and claim it as his very own. He especially likes to do this to one particular child. This child is a very quiet child and when the other child takes something from him he usually holds out his hand expecting to get back what he had.Sometimes the child will give the item back, but most of the time he watches for my reaction. If I intervene he will throw the item at the other child and then push the child out of his way or he will hit the other child. This of course gets him in time out, but it also gets him what I think he really wants and that is attention.Has your child ever done something whether you see it as good or bad just to get your attention? You usually will see this when there are two or more children in a family. What do you do? As a teacher I have to make sure that all the children are treated fair and that all the children get my attention some time during the day....

Free Potty finders travel guideWhen traveling with small children, especially those who are just getting the hang of potty training, you need to know where the restrooms are and how to access them quickly.I have found an interesting and helpful guide that you can get for free. This is a real travel guide by Arthur Frommer. It lists suggested sights to see in several large cities and more importantly where the public restrooms are located.He also gives tips on traveling in the major national forests and the locations of the restrooms there. I liked his tip about using a tree while hiking. I picked that one up years ago.You will have to register as someone who has urinary problems, but it is worth the trouble to get the guide.The guide comes in a fancy pouch that you can place in the glove box of your car.
