It appears the GMC may have glossed over the report in their usual way. In GMC v Varma, the GMC admitted to not reading the evidence before them. The findings of the NHS inquiry essentially had cleared Southall. In memory of the GMC's sheer obtuse nature, they told us that their chief weapons are " Fear, Ruthless inefficiency and surprise". I believe it would be instrumental for the General Medical Council and the media to have a lesson in the subject of personality disorder. Some people have an insight into their personality disorders and other's simply don't. It is not meant as an insulting remark or condition but as a problem suffered by some people. The General Medical Council have no recognition for it and are not astute to manipulation and convincing statements made by those with any form of personality disorder. Infact, it is established that the GMC have no understanding of mental health issues at all. The media have no understanding of this disorder either. I believe the most important aspect of making a personal judgment is to always make your own assessment on the facts before you. Each person should have the ability to research their material and make up their own minds. I say this due to the catastrophic failure of Penny Mellor and many relatives to understand the manner in which medicine and clinical care functions on a day to day level.I am not a child protection specialist - it has taken some hard work to read and learn about it. The Junior Doctor's ChoiceI note the conceited attitude presented by the British Medical Association yet again. Remedy are not the only people they banned. They also banned my material in the BMA News Review in the year 1999. The BMA Team had nothing to say when I asked why they had paid me for the piece, then hid it from the public eye. Now, I note they are giving the same treatment to Remedy UK in an attempt to curb their free speech. Lets face it, the BMA curb the free speech of anyone who is remotely a threat to them. We should note that the BMA opposed Remedy UK in their legal case against the Department of Health. Seriously, which conceited trade union would do that? Following on from yesterday, in the next three days we will be presenting the transcript evidence of Ms Salem , the only independent witness in the case of Child M. This evidence was ignored in total by the panel in favour of the mother of Child M. I of course don't believe the mother of Child M. I do though believe Ms Salem. She has nothing to gain within these proceedings unlike the mother of Child M. The GMC decision in Southall is a destruction to the important subject of Child Protection. This basically means that potential child abusers who are suspected by the social services can go to the General Medical Council and will be believed without question. Instead of believing the independent witness ie the social worker or anyone else present in a consultation, they will believe the potential child abuser. Professor David Southall - THE GMC KANGAROO COURT WAS WRONG

It is a great shame that the conceited panel at the General Medical Council ignored the independent witness statement of the social worker in the case described by the Guardian. "The future of leading paediatrician Dr David Southall hangs in the balance after he was found guilty of wrongly accusing a grieving mother of drugging and murdering her son" said the Guardian. The G MC used the criminal standard of proof here - yet the mother's word was taken against the social worker's witness statement. It definitely did not meet the criminal standard of proof. With Mr AVMA at the helm not to mention the numerous legal aid cases that pile up through AVMA, I am indeed not surprised at this result. Not so long ago we featured the antics of Kings College Hospital London in our piece - on Nigel Heat on . Global Hospitals a group I would never choose for any of my relatives in India has now bagged a significant amount of money. Having the blood of two patients on their hands means nothing to them - they happily move on without any recourse in the law or the Indian/British governments. We are all still waiting to hear the answers to each of the questions put to them. NHS FUNDING CUTS HIT PATIENT CLOTHES Mangling Medical Careers is run by my friend Krish. I am a big fan of Krish. Indeed, when I was a junior doctor, I wish we had juniors as fun as he is. Most of my ex friends were rather drab and boring and far too rich. The women wanted to get the richest man in their handbag and the men were looking to "settle down" and be henpecked. They have all grown up into boring married people who watch their diets. Krish though is rather great fun. I read his material on most days chuckling away to myself. I think his sense of humour is fantastic. He is one of the most talented writers to hit the internet stage. Even Krish has dreams of one night in Paris but I believe his oncalls keep him away from such past times. The Importance of Dumping Medical School - you too can be like Jade Goody. THE NHS DENTISTIts not fair that Jade Goody gets a full set of teeth and private dentistry and still manages to be gobby. Then there is me. Yes, I hate dentists and the worst thing is I hate paying for them. I had one root canal treatment ( and I blame the GMC for that) and it costs me a arm and a leg. Its not fair. In the old days, I got NHS treatment and now it hurts my credit card and it hurts my bank balance. Infact paying for it hurts more than the tooth work.
