Rule 12 Presidential Review of a GMC Decision
2007-03-26 09:20:00
Case Examiners in the GMC are prone to saying " Oops I did it again".Yes, my friends often tell me that my brain is full of useless pieces of information. I am asked repeatedly for this piece of legislation hence the reason for presenting it on my blog. I have won two President ial Review s which show the case examiners to have done a less than perfect job. This is a little known Rule at the GMC whereby anyone can ask for a Review of the GMC's decision. Rule 12 - The President's Review. http://www.opsi.gov.uk:80/si/si2004/20042 608.htmReview of decisions 12. - (1) Subject to paragraph (2), the following decisions may be reviewed by the President - (a) a decision not to refer an allegation to a FTP Panel; (b) a decision to issue a warning in accordance with rule 11(2), 11(4) or 11(6); or (c) a decision to cease consideration of an allegation upon receipt of undertakings from the practitioner in accordance with rule 10(3). (2) Subject to paragraph (3), the President shall not review a ...

Allegations of Racial Bias and the GMC
2007-03-25 20:09:00
"The problem with you Dr Pal is that you don't write in a sedate posh way like your white counterparts. That can only lead us to conclude one thing - that you maybe mad. This intemperate and hypercritical behaviour of us must stop because asian female doctors like you have to be taught a lesson - never to raise their voices above the Oxbridge caucasian doctors who actually know how to write poshly". In our detailed examination of the reasons the no doctor or organisation has come close to establishing racial bias, I present two articles in the BMJ supplied by Doctors4Justice. The two articles show the specific problems. At the time of course, no one thought to ensure that statistics were kept by the GMC. In truth, we do not know what the GMC has done for all these years. Hats off to the GMC to cleverly conceal or negligently forget to keep statistics - all done for a purpose of course. The G MC is fairly clever afterall, clever enough to keep the PR machine going and concealing the ...

AN ANATOMICAL HORIZON - THE WHISTLEBLOWERS ACCESSORIES
2007-03-25 00:31:00
David can look at my X Files anyday The important issue about Steve Austin aka Lee Majors is the level his shirt buttons were undone. From my favourite TV show Six Million Dollar Man.I always thought he required ear warmersColin Firth - Once a woman has seen him, there is never anyone else. Goran - plays the ER doctor. We have not spotted any NHS doctors with the same looks as yet. Sean Connery - Shaken and Stirred women's hormones for centuriesBond, its not the NHS Manager's Fault, they can't help being nasty Much better than his dad anatomically. Rupert Everett - If Only all Consultants could brush up as well We all learn our battle tactics from Star Wars. Most ask me where I learned my battle tactics to beat the GMC, I say " Star Wars". Its true. Sushant Varma won at the EAT recently by following the same tactics. Don't believe us - but it works :) . In any case, Han Solo is a favourite.

Against LyingO 'tis a lovely thing for youthTo early walk in wisdom's way;To fear a lie, to speak the truth,That we may trust to all they say!But liars we can never trust,Even when they say what is true. And he who does one fault at firstAnd lies to hide it, makes it two.Have we not known, nor heard, nor readHow God does hate deceit and wrong? How Ananias was struck dead,Caught with a lie upon his tongue? So did his wife Sapphira die,When she came in, and grew so boldAs to confirm that wicked lie,Which just before her husband told. The Lord delights in them that speakThe words of truth; but every liarMust have his portion in the lakeThat burns with brimstone and with fire. Isaac Watts Over the years, I often use the word " manipulating the truth" because to use the word liar implies that we are intemperate. It is often the case that those in the highest echelons of power tend to practise the art of lying very well. Those who disrespect the truth often lie to cover up further lies o...

LADY FIONA WOLLARD TOTTINGTON Med Sec Dip
2007-03-23 12:51:00
Lady Fiona Wollard Totti ngton's " At the time I was in a full time top PA position....I have formal qualifications of BA ( Hons) and Med Sec Dip. I do not need to have trifling little jobs to pay the bills. I do come from a very medical background. My brother and sister are doctors as were my parents and grandparents. And uncles are professors and senior lecturers" Lisa Blakemore Brown's case at the British Psychological Society has caught the attention of many people. This week I went off to examine and verify the evidence ie the complaint made by Ms Mellor with the assistance of Ms Dip Med Sec herself Ms Fiona. Fiona huffed and puffed, crowed that she had all the evidence and emails then bombarded Lisa Blakemore Brown with a group of intimidating emails yesterday. We attempted to pin her down on specifics. Could we have the original documentation in electronic form to verify the complaint made by Ms Mellor to the BPS? Indeed, did Ms Mellor provide the original email electroni...

ITS RAINING WOOLARD EMAILS
2007-03-22 23:25:00
I am a average doctor working the NHS on an average. All day I was watching the funding being pulled from most services that benefit patients. Again I watch and look and think about how best to find different and more inventive ways to ensure the patients do not suffer. I then drive home to find that people do live in a different diamension.Alas, these days Ms Dip Med Sec Fiona Woolard is currently under fire for her inability to find the actual electronic emails for the complaint against Lisa Blakemore Brown. Fifon had passed confidential emails onto Penny Mellor after she had regained the trust of Lisa Blakemore Brown at the British Psychological Society sometime ago. For all those wonderful people out there, please read the postings below to update yourselves on our right to question complainants against professionals. Ms Dip Med Sec showed us that she could type by bombarding us with what seemed an entire self made spam Woolard generator. Email afer email of shocking language ...

THE CASE OF THE MYSTERIOUSLY MISSING WOOLARD EMAILS
2007-03-22 00:37:00
VERY CATTYDear FT, Thankyou for your posting on the MAMA board on which I am still banned from. For ease of reference, I enclose your posting for the readers below. Please don't apologise for calling me a chocolate eater. Its quite amusing really. Nice to know that in the middle of most of your tizzes you actually have a sense of wit (somewhere). Lisa Blakemore Brown is my friend. I don't need to ask Lisa for anything. I am asking you for the electronic copy of the emails. Please provide them. What is interesting is that my lawyer uses an AOL account and amazingly is able to send me attachment emails :). If that is so, then so can you. Perhaps you will therefore avoid making excuses and send me the emails as opposed to dithering and attempting to mislead me :). If you state " Your client has manipulated me into believing their story" then there are two issues here 1. She is not my client2." Manipulate" as a word is defamatory to LBB. I doubt you are aware of what " remaining neutra...

SWORD OF DAMOCLES
2007-03-20 23:53:00
Dr Pal was referred to the GMC for eating to much chocolate. It is cited as a contravention of Good Medical Practise. The GMC certificate remains a sword of damocles for any harassing individual who can refer a doctor for any reason they wish - justified or not. What I find amazing is this. Every time I attempt to investigate anyone, they develop the bright idea of referring me to the General Medical Council. Doctors.net.uk users tried it many times ( they know who they are) then so did Tim Woodman. It is a great shame that Dr Woodman became depressed, lost his job and his wife following the said complaint. It was thrown out of course. The rest of Doctors.net.uk doctors decided they wanted to remain anonymous so the GMC threw them out. Over the years it has been one of the interesting parts of running NHS Exposed. Everyone who gets the eeebeejeeebees regarding us sniffing around refers me to the GMC. Most assume that I work alone which is a good assumption but incorrect of course. I...

MINI DOCTORS
2007-03-20 14:23:00
Interview for medical schoolI have always believed that the selection strategy of medical schools have always been a bit skewed. Public Health shows us that the vast majority of serious illnesses are associated with poverty and quality of lifestyles. It is therefore important for doctors to be able to bridge the gap between doctor and patient. Sadly, given the nature of medical school these days - only the richest can make it out of medical school. My interview at UCL was interesting. When I viewed the rest of the students in the stuffy room we were put it, they all wore black and grey suits. Yep, and then there was me - I wore green with matching green glasses. I believe that probably epitomised who I was - a little different, a little eccentric, a little normal and more importantly from a poor background. It was true that everyone had told me that I would never get into medical school. My ideas had been too different, I apparently wanted to do medicine to improve things for the pat...

NHS PARKING - LOADSA MONEY
2007-03-20 13:37:00
Reality of NHS Park ing . Yes, I have tried to park there and gave up. PFI Project in Taunton. All that money :) Plush carparking. Courtesy of http://sjhoward.co.uk/NHS Exposed raised the issue of the trials and tribulations of parking in the NHS about three or four years ago. We started in 2001 with the NHS Parking Warden . Another hospital who has bizarre Parking rules is Northampton General Hospital. It is said that some hospitals put patients at risk by making parking problematic for doctors. Forget doctors, how about families of ill or dying people. Petitions were set up on 10 Downing Street's website. There were tales of how long term patients and their relatives with very little means were paying most of their money simply to stay at the hospital. There was a tale of a elderly gent whose wife was dying. He spent his weekly pension in parking his car to be by her side. The tales are numerous. I hate hospital car parks with a vengeance. My experience was in about 2003 - I was on...

FIONA WOOLARD - ANSWER THE QUESTION
2007-03-20 11:22:00
The examination of the evidence in the Lisa Blakemore Case as supplied by Penny Mellor and her cohorts are examined here. Fiona Woolard regularly posts on the MAMA board. We examine the behaviour of these two women in a complaint against Lisa Blakemore Brown. The Typical email forwarding from Fiona Woolard to Penny Mellor then to the British Psychological Society where they were printed out can be seen above. It should be noted that all evidence was never checked, neither were the originality of each emails verified to any extent. These electronic originals have mysteriously disappeared from Fiona's computer and possibly Mellor's computer. Of course, the question we wish to ask Fiona Woolard is - where are the original emails and could she forward them to us as an electronic attachment? If she cannot do this then she must withdraw her complaint from the British Psychological Society as the complaint now appears to be mere puff. The vindictive nature of these two women who create hav...

ONE GIANT LEAP FOR THE GMC.
2007-03-19 12:26:00
What do you mean its easier to walk on the moon than change the GMCThe G MC and I adore each other - well not quite. I do though think that amongst the complete upstarts I have dealt with in there - Mark Ellen has been the best at his job. By the way, I like to think Mark isn't an upstart. I also like to think of him as much better looking than the other dwarfies in there. Well, Mark does actually reply to questions properly and adequately. He also tries his best. If only they were all like him but alas they aren't. Actually, there is a joke between all of us that no one makes Mark any coffee anymore since he divulged the GMC memos about me in the year 2003 which created such a lot of chaos in the land of GMC towers. It resulted in R Pal v GMC and the GMC's shame in losing to a junior doctor. It may happen again, we never know. Just depends how mean the GMC are. And boy when they try, they can be really really mean. I think I remind them of how badly their practises have been for ...

Conservative Treatment TLC
2007-03-18 11:29:00
The important issue to learn about parliament is this. Everyone uses each other for their own gain. The conservatives had a bit of credibility with William Hague but the country messed up again and voted for the grinning fool at 10 Downing Street. Enter David Cameron another grinning fool. Yes, he has his collection of green issues and now wants to charm the public by his new Webcameron . This is an effort by the Cons ervative Party to look "cool". Of course, we can see if David is cool. Perhaps he could tell us why he is using the junior doctors as a political football to get his brownie this year. Yes, he wants to come across as the junior doctors' saviour. We examine whether he cares about junior doctors really? We need to then go back in time and examine my collection of letters from the head office of the Conservatives on whether he really gives a damn about junior doctor rights. Now, the email below is one from David's main office. The important thing that everyone must rea...

MAMA MIA - Support Groups Behaving Badly
2007-03-16 21:09:00
Trauma to the mind is an interesting thing to observe. Moreover, when many people with trauma on the mind get together, you get the MAMA Board. For those who are not aware of what this is. It is a piddly little board in the middle of nowhere which is the centre of the media's attention and one that causes a great deal of doctors distress. I can accept valid criticisms of doctors but the criticisms on this board seem to be erratic, without merit and a complete mess. This is the first impression in the last few hours. Professor Southall has specifically been given a railroading. The problem with people who have suffered ( justified or not) is that they assume that the world revolves around them. They also have no consideration as to who they hurt or who whether their concerns are justified. I believe the Henshalls are a classic case to consider. People who sought my support at a Disability Meeting once sometime ago but then refused to answer a single email. Apparently, my agenda runs...
