Here’s another cross training video. One thing to note, you don’t have to necessarily be able to do the plyometrics in order to do any type of aggressive training… in fact, I’ve seen research that says that power lifting type exercises will do more for your vertical leap and your metabolism than box jumps. I’d probably stay away from them until your fitness level is a little higher… but even then… I don’t think the effort is really worth it considering the overall effects that we are looking for. However, if you’ll notice, the entire workout is BANG, BANG, BANG… one thing after another. Remember, take some of these ideas and use them in your workouts…

More times than I’d like to admit… I’ll see people working out in the gym for 2-3 hours at a time. Is this necessarily a bad thing? Not really. BUT… I know that these same people aren’t eating nowhere near the number of calories that they need to support this type of activity. Naturally, this can also trigger the metabolism eating muscular breakdown that we all dread in the fat loss game. Remember, when you have any type of huge caloric deficit, your body is going to react similarly… ie… it starts to go into starvation mode. Which, of course, is counterproductive to what we are trying to do. The name of the game is to MAXIMIZE your metabolism… not minimize it. Try not to get into the more is better mindset UNLESS you are prepared to compensate in the recovery area.
