Overcome Negative Thinking with a Simple Trick
2007-06-14 22:06:00 We all have occasional self-doubt and negative self-talk. If we don't stop it soon after it begins, our negative thoughts can go on and on, damaging our self-image and diminishing our self-esteem. Here's a simple way to combat negative thinking: whenever you find yourself having a negative thought, simply say to yourself afterwards, "but it really doesn't matter." For example, if you had a thought like "My car looks filthy today," you would then say "but it really doesn't matter." This is a great way to keep your negative thoughts in perspective. Using this technique will stop you from catastrophizing about things that really don't matter. By keeping your thoughts in perspective, you free your mind to focus on more important (and positive) things. Give it a try! More About: Trick , Simple , Negative , Thinking , Overcome

Never Give Up! The Power of Determination
2007-05-30 19:27:00 Today I'd like to feature a great article from someone I greatly respect and admire, Jack Canfield: Never Give Up!The Power of Determination by Jack Canfield In a previous issue of success strategies, I talked about the importance of taking action toward your goals, dreams and desires. But one of the most important qualities you will need to develop in order to continue taking action is persistence. You must be persistent in your disciplines and habits; perseverant in the face of adversity, hardship and challenge; and determined to achieve your dreams, no matter what. There will be many times when you will want to quit, give up, and go back to doing something else, but the one quality that will guarantee your success is the willingness to stick with it, to see it through to the end -- to refuse to settle for anything less than your dream. The longer you hang in there, the greater the chance that something will happen in your favor. No matter how hard it seems, the longer you persi... More About: Give up , Term , Mina

2007-05-29 16:58:00 Do you ever feel like there just aren't enough hours in the day to accomplish your goals? Here's an easy way to reclaim your personal time. The average American watches over five hours of television each day. If we reduced our TV time by just one hour a day, we would have an extra 15 days and 20 hours each year! That's enough time to accomplish a lot of your goals. Next time you feel like you don't have enough time, take a look at the time you spend watching television and consider using those hours toward a more useful achievement. Television isn't bad and most of us enjoy watching it sometimes.
