Losing the "attraction" to the Law of Attraction.
2008-04-02 18:30:00 It's been over a year since I started "Attraction Hacker", and it has had its ups and downs. Over the past few months, it's been mostly DOWNS. There are numerous reasons- work, family, other interests, etc. But on reason stands out above all: I lost my attraction to the Law of Attraction .It's not as though The LoA wasn't working, because in the few months after I started the blog, I went from 0 readers, to over 100 subscribers to my news feed. I was even making a few dollars a week from my Google ads and other affiliates. It was a nice feeling, and I even cyber-connected with others on the LoA journey. But then it stopped.I'd like to imagine this happens to a lot of people. After the initial excitement wears off, you fall back into old ways and old mental patterns... and eventually, your unconscious mind starts attracting all the same old crap it did before you were practicing the Law of Attraction. How many people were moved by "The Secret", like I was, and are now ba...
How to Clear your Brain with GTD
2007-11-14 00:20:00 GTD stands for "Getting Things Done", and it's something I struggled with a long time. But I've been helped a lot in recent months.Your brain is an amazing thing. It allows you to understand language, do maths, catch a ball, and appreciate music. But in some ways, your brain is really, really dumb. Or, rather, your brain doesn't always work the way you would want. This is especially noticable when you try to remember things.Consider this: what if you took an important file home, and you absolutely, positively had to remember to take it back to work the next day. If you forgot, you would lose your job - it was THAT important. How would you make sure to remember it?Ideally, you would tell your brain to give you a reminder, something like "when I walk out the front door tomorrow morning, I want you to remind me about the file."Wouldn't that be great? But have you noticed that our brain doesn't really work like that?Instead, once you tell your brain to remember something, it will st... More About: Clear , Brain
Greeting, and some advice
2007-11-13 00:07:00 It's been a while, but a lot of exciting things have happened in the past few months, and I can only attribute it to the Law of Attraction . First off, I working towards getting out of the corporate rat race, and into my own business, so I devote more time to things I love -- like preaching the news of the LOA. In that vein, I've signed-up with "SuccessTracs", a great coaching program from Peak Potentials. In the few calls I've had, I've been blown away. I've always been such an independent "do-it-yourself" kind of guy, and I was thinking I could make the switch to my own business with no problem. But my wife had been doing the coaching for a while, and I could see definite changes in her business... so I took the plunge, too. Now, we're using a lot of LOA techniques, and getting my vision as clear as possible. And it's great to have a person tell me straight out, "GET CLEARER!".It's easy to say, "I want a new house"... but getting clear means "how many rooms?" or "what ... I'm attracting a ton of work...
2007-05-21 22:53:00 Wow, it's been almost 2 weeks since my last post. That, of course, doesn't mean that I've exhausted all ways of "hacking" the Law of Attraction . I've just been super busy with work.My latest intention: Work will calm down, and I'll have plenty of time each day to attend to Attraction Hacker. More About: Trac
Be Rich AND Happy, and one LoA Misconception
2007-05-09 17:41:00 One of the blogs I like to read is the Get Rich Slowly blog. They offer practical wealth-building advice, and the information is usually top-notch. However, 2 recent posts have sort-of "irked" me.Very quickly, the first one is titled "Which is More Important: Money or Job Satisfaction?". It's my belief that we shouldn't be prioritizing these things, because once we do, we'll always view the 2nd choice as inferior, and consequently attract less of it. Money and Job Satisfaction are of equal importance, and both should be given the highest priority. The comment I posted on the site says it's not a "zero-sum game". There's enough of both to go around, so why settle for less?Second, and sort of related, is the post "There is No Secret: The Myth of the Law of Attraction ". I've actually been struggling with a post I'm working on about the misconceptions behind the LoA. I'm struggling because the entire subject is focused on the negative perceptions, and therefore becomes an... More About: Happy , Once , Concept
Time Suck O'Meter
2007-05-08 16:33:00 Coming from the Simpleology newsletter, is the website "Time Suck O Meter ". It's an interesting idea:Top 1000 most time saving, andBottom 1000 most time sucking sitesThe site gets its stats from the BrowserBodyguard toolbar, which is supposed to help your web surfing experience stay on task. If you find a site that "sucks time" instead of providing any real productivity, simply mark it as a time-sucker. Conversely, if you find a site that is VERY helpful in your productivity, you can mark that as a time-saver.The data sample of Time Suck O'Meter is obviously pretty small right now, as there are only 8 sites in the time-saver column, and 11 in the time-sucker column. If more people use the toolbar, though, it could provide a useful way to find sites that will help in day-to-day productivity. Of course, as it stands now, I'm trying to figure out how "Google Netherlands" can save you time, but "Google Australia" will waste your time. My guess, is that since I don't speak Dutc...

Dyer: How to Get what You Really, Really Want.
2007-05-03 16:49:00 First off, Congrats to Scott at Keeping the Secret on his recent marriage!Second, also from Keeping the Secret, is an excellent video from a Wayne Dyer seminar. It's over 2 and a half hours long, and I'm only about a third of the way in, but so far it's absolutely wonderful. Wayne Dyer is such a great speaker, and this video/seminar really has an intimate feel about it.Set aside some free time, then head to Keeping the Secret to watch.on a sidenote: I just found out that my "page rank" in Google went from 0 to 3. It doesn't mean a whole lot, I just thought it was kinda cool. Also, Technorati is at 198,242 and Alexa is 860,049. Onward and Upward! More About: Real , Want , Really , Ally
10 Steps To Maximize Your Visualization
2007-05-01 20:48:00 I read an interesting article called "12 Step s to Turbo-charge Your Visualisation", and I thought, "I can get those down to 10". So here goes: Thirty minutes before bed, go to a private, secluded spot. Get as comfortable as possible- sitting in a comfy chair/position and wearing loose clothing. Close your eyes, and let all your thoughts drift away - both external and internal. Imagine one thing which you "choose to have" most. Make it very specific. Either something tangible (new car) or intangible (new job). Imagine yourself receiving that one thing. Focus in on the thoughts and feelings you have with that one thing in your possession. After laying down to sleep, keep your visualization in your head, and let it be the last thing you think about before sleep. Anytime during the night, if you wake up, clear your mind and visualize your thing again as you fall back to sleep. After waking up in the morning, start back with Step 2. Find times throughout your day to take a few moments... More About: Law of Attraction , Visualization , Maxi , Steps
Law of Attraction in Pop Culture
2007-04-30 21:24:00 In a post last Friday, Joe Vitale had a funny "ps":Last night the famous action-packed movie Die Hard 2, starring Bruce Willis, was on television. The lead character, who barely survived terrorists in the first movie, is again barely surviving bad guys in the second movie. At one point Bruce Willis says, "Why do these things keep happening to me?" I said out loud to the screen, "It's the Attractor Factor, bro." Until he gets clear, he'll keep attracting the same stuff, and never realize he's the magnet. Not being clear makes for a great movie but a lousy life.I love movies and TV, and pop culture in general, so I started wondering if there are other movies/shows that indirectly reference the Law of Attraction .1. My Name is EarlThis is a fairly obvious one. In the show, Earl used to be a "bad" guy doing bad stuff and wasting his life away. After he wins the lottery and learns about "karma", he decides to do only good things, and even makes a list of all people he wronged so he c... A few quick successes...
2007-04-25 23:11:00 Posting will be light the next few days, as I've got some other projects working, but I thought I'd share a few small successes I've had recently. First off, I have a Firefox Extension called "About This Site" that I've tweaked a bit, and it checks various stats about your website/blog. With this, I can check aH's Google Page Rank, Alexa rating, and Technorati rating among many other things. Focus on... MindHacks.org
2007-04-23 22:33:00 Mind Hacks is an absolutely wonderful website with enough info, that it would probably take months to read through all the archives. It looks like it started about a year-and-half ago with mostly just snippets of news articles about personal development, spirituality, and mind science... and then links to the full articles. Since then, there are posts full of multimedia and articles/stories/thoughts about using the mind to its fullest potential. The most recent post is a video interview with Burt Goldman on the topic "Who is God?". I'm not too familiar with Goldman, but the video is quite interesting... a bit along the lines of Neil Donald Walsch's stuff. The only issue I have with the site (and it's just a personal preference), is that there's no easy way to jump back in the archives. You can scroll to the bottom and click "Previous Entries", but I like blogs with an archive list in the menu somewhere... maybe I'm just missing it. Either way, you can just manually type in the... Michael Losier - Law of Attraction
2007-04-23 16:20:00 The book by Mich ael Losier "Law of Attraction " has been getting a lot of press and attention in the LoA world recently. There's a video on YouTube that has 75,000 views with him talking about how to make the secret work. He has a few other videos in his YouTube profile as well.On Oprah's XM radio show, she's continuing the LoA theme started with Abraham-Hicks, and last week she talked to Losier about his book and the Law of Attraction . The Law of Goog-traction
2007-04-18 20:54:00 I love Google. I can't remember how I surfed the web without it... though, I think it was mostly through Webcrawler searches and luck. Now, however, Google does so much more than just search, that I started wondering how to leverage Google's free tools along with manifesting my desires and using the Law of Attraction. Here are a few things I came up with:1. BloggerI've used Blogger in some form or another for over 6 years, and in 2003, they were bought by Google. It had been a pretty rudimentary blogging system, and in many cases it still is, but there's a LOT more flexibility now than there had been. This blog is using the Blogger platform, and by setting up my domain name, I can have all my content hosted here under "attractionhacker.com"... and it costs me nothing. As far as the LoA goes, I find that writing about it is for me the BEST way to practice it. Being able to type everything out really clears my thoughts and allows me to focus. The great thing about Blogger is ho... More About: Trac , The Law
Ho'oponopono and Ice Cream
2007-04-17 17:09:00 A couple of months ago, my wife and I saw Joe Vitale speak in Austin... and it was packed. He talked about a lot of stuff, but he mostly focused on the topic of his new book Zero Limits. He had heard about a prison in Hawaii with huge amount of inmate violence in the mentally-ill ward, and every therapist/counselor they brought in would quit after a couple of days. Then they brought in a man who never met with ANY prisoner, and would only seclude himself in his office for hours on end. Very soon after that, the violence in the prison was dramatically decreased... and eventually was eliminated.Joe Vitale sought the man out, and found out about the ancient Hawaii therapeutic practice called Ho'oponopono.Ho'oponopono (it's almost pronounced like 'Hoe-low POH-no POH-no') has come up a few times in my recent readings. One time in Shama Hyder's blog:"I am sorry" and "Please forgive me" are two of the most powerful statements in our language. They are tools of empowerment. You ... More About: Ice Cream , Cream
Focus on... The Secret DVD Blog
2007-04-16 17:53:00 It seems that just about everyday since I started Attraction Hacker, I find a new blog or website dedicated to the Law of Attraction or similar ideas. In fact, after reading Today is the Day on Saturday, I clicked his link to Contemplate This' list of LoA blogs... and found a bunch more. The thing is, I have even more LoA sites bookmarked that aren't even listed there. What is interesting (to me, at least) is that there are some that I just recently found, who have been blogging for months or even longer. To that end, I'm going to highlight a particular blog/site every Monday that fits into the realm of Attraction Hacker: utilizing technology to help with the Law of Attraction. And today's blog is "The Secret DVD Blog ".They aren't affiliated with the official The Secret blog, which hasn't been updated for almost 3 months, and while the title is "The Secret DVD", they cover a whole lot more than just The Secret. The thing that got me hooked is the great videos that are post... More About: Dvd , Focus

Agloco : just tossing it out there.
2007-04-13 19:04:00 Steve Pavlina has a post about the company Agloco, which is a "pay while you websurf service" and is releasing a "toolbar" in a couple of days. One of the reasons he supports it:High potential upside with low risk. If Agloco goes bust and never pays anyone, you?ll have wasted a few minutes, and you can call me an idiot for telling you about it. But if the system works, and you get in today, you stand to gain a lot more than someone who joins a year from now, especially if you refer others and put time on your side. Law of Attraction : Internet Radio sites
2007-04-13 16:44:00 I spend about 8 hours a day at work in front of a computer. Most of that time, I'm either looking at code or editing images. To soothe my mind while working, I used to just listen to music (mostly, The Beatles or Radio head, if you're curious), but a few months ago I wanted something different. It was then I found a few Law of Attraction themed podcasts, but they weren't able to provide enough content to fill the day, so I went looking for other things to listen to. Then I found a few great internet "radio" sites.Hay House RadioI, of course, knew about Louise Hay and Hay House publishing, but hadn't heard of Hay House Radio. As far as Mind-Body stuff goes, this is absolutely the best! There's a ton of Abraham-Hicks, or Wayne Dyer, or Colette Baron-Reid, and MANY, MANY others... all available for free downloads. While it would take me forever just to get through the archives, I also enjoy just listening to live shows. Sometimes, there are a lot "rebroadcasts", and thankfully ... More About: Internet , Action , Inter , Site
Esther Hicks on Oprah XM - part 3
2007-04-12 17:22:00 This is probably my favorite one, though I really loved the Abraham stuff last week. In this interview, Oprah actually talks about why Esther /Abraham isn't on her TV show. It's something I personally tend to forget - that a LOT of people are just not ready to hear these ideas. You start talking about "energies" and "vibrational beings" and people think you're literally insane. With time, these people can come around. One of the great things about The Secret movie (even without Abraham) is that it's packaged in a way that is digestible to most people. Most people agree that The Secret is truly just a beginning to a larger universe... but it really is a great beginning. Thankfully, Abraham-Hicks is available for the future steps.Listen on the web below:Download part 3 of the Esther Hicks / Oprah interview. It also sounds like Oprah's going to be talking about the Law of Attraction even more in future shows. 2007-04-11 18:52:00 I wish I could remember how I found this blog/video, but it's still making me think. It comes from Rob Bryanton who wrote the book Imagining the Tenth Dimension : A New Way of Thinking About Time and Space. An awesome idea: An LoA MySpace
2007-04-11 02:30:00 Yep, I have a MySpace page. I've found it to be a complete waste of time and energy, so as you can see, I haven't done much with it. However, the social idea of it is very appealing. In fact, I really like MyBlogLog, since it's easy to check out the different communities that I'm interested, and link up with people/blogs I like to read. However, one thing that they both suffer from is SPAM and tons of negative energy. Now, Aaron Potts at Today is the Day is putting together a (hopefully) spam-free, positive space:As huge and far-reaching as the Internet is, the sheer size of the Internet makes it difficult to find people who are looking for networking opportunities in the specific area that you are also looking.Add to that the fact that it is human nature to always ask "What's in it for me?" and it becomes even more difficult to find people who are willing to go out of their way to help you achieve your goals.Personal Development Partners is going to change all of that by pr... A Digg-like site focused on the Law of Attraction!
2007-04-10 18:48:00 I was driving into work today listening to this podcast about the site Bumpzee, which is similar to Digg but about Affiliate Marketing and SEO. They just recently opened up the site so anyone can create a community, and create a Digg-like site around any topic. My first thought was, "I wonder if someone has done this for Attraction -related blogs".Cut to: literally 5 minutes ago.I was checking my stats (I'm obsessed), and I found out that I got 'mad props' from the high Vibe it blog about the Abraham/Oprah audio. A few of my recent successes.
2007-04-10 16:48:00 The past few days have held a few watermark moments in my recent blogging endeavour, and I want to take a few moments and give thanks to the Universe, and the people in it, for making them happen.First, I love statistics - especially my blog's stats. It's not really about how MANY people visit, it's more about how DIVERSIFIED those people are. In the past 24 hours, I've had visitors from every continent on the earth (sans Antarctica), including the US, Cananda, Great Britain, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, South Africa, Sweden, India, and Australia. I've had American visitors from 38 states, and Canadian visitors from 5 provinces. Amazing! The LoA is truly a universal law.Second, while the number of people isn't the thing I notice most, this site did get its most visitors ever last Friday, with 262 unique people. Most of that is attributed to my posting the Abraham-Hicks audio from Oprah's XM show... but that's perfectly okay. In that vein, I'd like to thank KeepingTheS... More Happiness...
2007-04-09 18:14:00 It must be HAPPY DAY! After writing my last post, I found another post on Cultivate GREATNESS by Brian Tracy, called "Four Essentials to Happiness ". Tracy says that all our desires can be put into one of four categories. These are the 4 categories he talks about:1. A desire for happy relationships. 2. A desire for interesting and challenging work.3. A desire for financial independence.4. A desire for good health, to be free of pain and illness and to have a continuous flow of energy and feelings of well-being.Very interesting. I looked over my Gotta Get Goals post, and sure enough, they all fit neatly into one (or more) of those categories. For example, "Blogging is my full-time job" fits number 2 and a bit of number 3.Check out the last paragraph, Action Exercises, for 3 steps you can take to put those ideas into action. Are You Happy?
2007-04-09 16:50:00 The latest issue of Time has an article about a university study of happiness. It's amazing to me that this is stuff we all know about (at least subconsciously), yet still need some scientific "proof" to believe it. According to the article, here are three steps to be happier:1. Be attuned to what gives you genuine satisfaction. Although many people assume that popular activities like watching TV are enjoyable, their own reports generally indicate that they feel more engaged, energetic, satisfied and happy when doing other things.2. Study yourself. To better understand their own happiness, Csikszentmihalyi says, people should systematically record their activities and feelings every few hours for a week or two. In recording your observations, try to focus on how you actually feel, rather than what you think you ought to be feeling or what you expect to feel. Afterwards, note the high points, particularly, and the low ones. Then try to adjust how you spend time according to your f... More About: Happy
Gotta Get Goals
2007-04-06 18:14:00 Edward Mills of Evolving Times posted about new-ish meme called Gott a Get Goa ls (from Alex Shalman). These have to be your best, most exclusive, and over-the-top goals that you can pick off your goals list. One of the things I've learned from the Law of Attraction is not to parse things in such a way as "I want..." or "I desire...", since that focuses on the fact that you don't already have them.
