And the winner is…
2008-01-12 00:28:00
I can’t just come out an tell you can I?  I need to make it at least a little dramatic. I wasn’t lying when I told you the toddler would pick the winner. Here’s how it worked… I assigned each entry a number. The husband wrote all the numbers out and the toddler plucked one out of a bowl. Of course I had to snap a few pictures! So, can you see it?  Can you? It’s Number 5! I guess that doesn

Hard Workouts and Easy Food
2008-01-11 05:35:00
Gosh darn fast food, I thought I was done with it! I’ve been doing really good, avoiding the stuff but I totally caved tonight. Let me start at the beginning. The toddler and I hit the gym this evening for the cardio class.  Sidebar: I need to tell you how much I LOVE this class if you’ve never tried one you really need to. 20 minutes on a treadmill creeps by but 45 is gone in the blink of

Short & Sweet
2008-01-10 04:44:00
Alright, this going back to work thing is kicking my butt! I don’t think I can keep with all the things I want to do. I have officially hit the point where there isn’t enough hours in the day.   I don’t know about you but as I get older I find I just don’t want to compromise things I want to do for me and for my family. What I mean is there are some non-negotiable things, like cooking a

Dancing with ‘the husband’ was…
2008-01-09 05:49:00
...AWESOME! The class was great, the instructor was great and the other 4 couples were great! And thank god they were, they make you swap partners! It was a little awkward at first but everyone was so friendly we got comfortable pretty fast.   We covered the basic steps of swing, the foxtrot and the waltz and we have homework! LOL It wasn’t the most intense workout but it got you moving. We

More Food Finds and No More Munchies
2008-01-08 05:45:00
I hope you don’t mind but I’m bringing back the food finds. At first I thought I would post all food related stuff on my new food blog GreenLiteBites but that really has become more of a recipe blog then a product blog and I like it that way. So (not that you needed this big long explanation) I decided to continue to write reviews for low point products I find here. I realize I’m not the only

Swiss Miss Diet Hot Cocoa
2008-01-08 02:38:00
I saw Swiss Miss Diet while shopping last weekend and after seeing it was only 25 calories a servings with no fat and 1 g of fiber (0 points!) I thought it was worth a try! To be honest I wasn’t expecting much, nothing with only 25 calories can be that good.  This low expectation created a pleasant surprise. I think I may have actually said aloud, “Humpf! Not bad!” I was right, it’s not the

Bringing back the Sensational Sunday!
2008-01-07 04:16:00
It’s been awhile since I recapped a Sensational Sunday , hasn’t it?  I have some new readers so I’ll quote my original post… I think motivation is contagious and I think we can start a movement, a movement to begin our weeks, every week, with a Sensational Sunday. If we take just a little time to recognize what we have, where we are, where we’ve been and where we want to be we can set the

I STOPPED the Insanity!
2008-01-06 03:53:00
Why can’t I say that line without thinking Susan Powter? Remember her? But man she had it right, didn’t she? It really is insanity.   Today I was a bottomless pit. Finally after a hours of constant eating I said “That’s enough!, I’m going to take a bath.” That was about 45 minutes ago. Now it’s off to bed early. I wasn’t even going to post but after the bath I felt  renewed and figured I’d

2008-01-04 05:46:00
I normally get comments and emails regarding my Tummy Tuck and I’m always more then willing to share my experience. However recently the questions are getting quite disturbing… “i see you weighed in. i just have to ask.. was all the tummy tuck pain worth it when you arent being good to your weight??” “are you taking advantage of the fact that you have a flat stomach and mocking your body

'08 is already GREAT!
2008-01-02 03:00:00
I just had a FABULOUS day.  One of  those ‘start off with a workout, get tons of errands done, spend awesome quality family time, accomplish much work, eat right, drink a ton of water, feel great’ kind of days! That being said I still have a ton to do! I will updating my goal page tomorrow (I haven’t touched it since starting my jounry) with 2008 goals and posting my lunch recipe from today.

Resolutions vs. Goals
2008-01-01 07:21:00
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I wanted to start the year off with a list of things I am going to try to accomplish in 2008. While putting together list I started thinking of all my failed resolutions of past. Then I started think of why I failed them. I think the answer is simple. I made a unrealistic resolution instead of an attainable goal. You say the difference is semantics, I say it's a state

Sensational Sunday with Sauce and a Snack Attack
2007-12-31 06:21:00
The title pretty much sums it up. The day started with a bit of sauce making.  Notice my little chef in training and his FABULOUS play dough meat balls! It way my way of keeping his eager hands out of the raw meat. Worked like a charm! We even “baked” his in the microwave (no heat of course) and pretended to eat them. ;~) I did not go to the gym today BUT I worked my tail off, cleaning,

Super Active Day!
2007-12-30 05:42:00
I’m going to cut this short but I really wanted to tell you about my fabulos day and post my food journal to stay accountable. Today started off awesome with a trip to the gym.  I got in treadmill time, a lower body circuit and toddler basketball! Then some friends came over and we had a DDR competition.  I will have you know I kept up with the preteens and actually beat them! I guess I’m

Working on Vacation
2007-12-29 05:30:00
Still fighting the cold but getting better. I actually got a lot accomplished today.  I love being on vacation so I can work on my own projects, isn’t that sad. LOL You may notice a bit of tidying up around here.  I’ve edited the side bars a bit, reorganizing and adding a feed from the community and links to the boards.  I really want to start spreading the support to all our awesome blogs!

That’s how I feel.  Before I tell you about my crappy day scroll down a bit and check out my morning scale reading. HOLY COW! That is the highest I’ve seen the scale in over a year at least.  I’m not freaking out, I am NOT freaking out. Pasta Queen described my thoughts perfectly in her post Guilt-free Christmas cookies. There just comes a time when you give in because you know you CAN

I’m starting today. So much for my Holiday Goals! Remember them? Enjoy myself and RELAX – Check. Kind of. I had a FABULOUS Christmas Eve and Christmas.  I wasn’t even on the computer for about 48 hours straight, that may be a new record for me! But I still had to take care of some stuff.  Ahhh the life of an over achiever.  ;~P Mindful eating – Oh it was

Holiday Goals and Wish
2007-12-23 19:35:00
Sorry I’ve been absent for the past few days. As you all know it’s THAT time of year. Shopping, cooking (LOTS of cooking), wrapping, cleaning, I could go on and on.  I’m not journaling, I’ve been trying to get to the gym here and there but even that isn’t happening as much as I would like. I decided to declare my holiday goals because I feel like if I don’t things may get out of hand.  I

Is it possible...
2007-12-19 05:30:00
to be busier now when I’m on winter break then when I was teaching full time?  MAN!  It’s that schedule thing again. I’m all out of whack and I don’t mean my eating, per say.  I’ve been doing really well just not journaling like I normally do.   What have I been doing you ask? Well, wrapping up things for school, Christmas shopping, getting tires and breaks on the car (OMG what a time
Crazy Gym Observation and Revelations
2007-12-17 19:53:00
I saw the STRANGEST thing at the gym today. There was a women working out on the nautilus machine in “normal” clothes.  That may not sound too bizarre but close your eyes and imagine… Ya ready? A 30-something female in a blue turtle neck sweater, black slacks and dress shoes finishing a set on the chest press and moving to the ab machine. Ya got the mental picture? Ok, now do you believe me

YOU give great advice – so I took it.
2007-12-15 19:45:00
I’m the type of person that loves getting advice (well, and giving it too, I guess ;~P).  Anyway I have been feeling ‘off’, like I said so did exactly what you all recommended…. “Snap out of it!”  - Check.  I read that and though, ‘yeah, what’s wrong with me? I just need to snap out of it! So I did! LOL “You know you can do it!!” – Not too sound too egotistical… yeah I do

Something’s going on…
2007-12-14 05:37:00
I’ll say it again, a small shift in my schedule and I’m all off.  Now that the semester is over, there just seems to be something going on with me.  I’m not happy between 9-11PM unless there is food in arms reach.  I think I need to mix things up a bit. Maybe I’ll start posting in the morning or hitting the gym after the toddler goes to bed. Some thing’s got to snap me out of it.  I can feel

Brain Dump Post
2007-12-13 06:04:00
I feel like I have so much to tell you but I can’t come up with a clever way to string it all together so I decided to take the easy way out and just list them.  My brain works better this way anyway… The Melting Pot was AWESOME! Yes, you can totally go overboard, but if you go easy on the cheese, and use a broth fondue for the main course you are in good shape.  Now the dessert on the

So far so good….
2007-12-11 23:00:00
I’m midday posting as I’m off to dinner with the husband, the toddler and some old friends.  We decided on the Melting Pot. I’ve never been there and I’m looking forward to it.  My day so far has gone well and I’m not going to ‘ruin’ it with one meal.  When I say ‘ruin’, I mean it in two ways…. I am NOT going to just totally pig out with complete disregard for health/points/calories/
BEWARE – Whiny post ahead…
2007-12-11 05:36:00
My schedule is totally out of whack. It’s finals week, I’m stressed, I’m tired and I have a TON of work to do. That being said I rushed to get to work this morning and totally forgot lunch.  ME, “Miss Prepared” didn’t even think about it.  I’ve been bringing my lunch all semester without fail.  It’s amazing what a small shift in your schedule can do to you. Well, to me.  I’m all disheveled.

Quick Weekend Update
2007-12-10 05:21:00
Staying up late when the toddler is in an early phase is not recommended. I’m exhausted tonight!  I took a few days off from journaling and I was doing really well until tonight when I splurged on some baked Doritos and Fudge Stripe Cookies. :~( This weekend I spent a ton of time in the kitchen.  I posted another video, baked some cookies, and made sauce.  I also made it to the gym, weighed

Light Touch Muffins - A Review
2007-12-08 06:17:00
A few weeks ago, Andrew from Linda’s Diet Delites asked if I’d try and write a review for Light Touch Muffins . He sent me a sample of the Zucchini flavor and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. I mean it’s a zucchini muffin! How good could it possibly be? Well, I think you’ll be surprised by the answer. The first thing I noticed about the muffin was it’s size.  Wrapped in a clear plastic it was

I talk a BIG game but when push comes to shove...
2007-12-07 05:49:00
I cave.   Just a week ago, I got on my soapbox and declared my hatred of fast food.  I believe my exact quote was… “…I am starting a boycott of fast food restaurants that do not provide good service or good food. Life is too short to waste a meal on junk and deal with bad service.” Alight so I’m still good. I did NOT really break my boycott when I went to Chick-fil-A tonight.  Yes, yes,
