In the last few years things have been less than stellar for me. Now I’m not half as good as this whole “positive thinking” racket as Bill but I’m trying to follow his lead here. I know that Thanksgiving was in November but regularly reminding yourself of that which you have to be thankful for certainly doesn’t hurt. 1. I live in the greatest, most free nation on Earth. 2. Though it’s a struggle sometimes I provide for all my own needs. 3. I don’t go to sleep hungry at night. 4. I’ve got a full range of motion control. Think about it, allot of people don’t. If you don’t have to get into a wheelchair to get around then you’ve got something to be thankful for. 5. I have all my senses still. Again, allot of people don’t. 6. I don’t have any non-curable disease. 7. I’ve got job I don’t hate. These are just a few things but it gives you an idea of what to consider when making a list of your ow...

Are pundits, political hacks, bloggers and the media stupid or just flat out liars? I keep reading and hearing over and over again that the reason Huckabee is doing so good in the presidential primaries is because of evangelical votes. That has got to be the most dishonest load of horse squeeze that I have ever heard. The reason and almost the only reason Huckabee is doing so well in the Republican primaries is: He is not a Democrat He is not Ron Paul and the FAIR TAX! The primaries (unfortunately) are almost on top of us with Super Tuesday coming on February 5th.  Now even though the candidates for the parties may seem to be predetermined by this point, get involved anyway!  People like to complain about the selections they end up with but did you really do anything to try and make a difference otherwise? The worst thing we could do as a society would be to just give up and let whatever happen cause that’s when “the fix” really will be in.

Both of my sons left to go camping with my brother this weekend. For the first time in 3 years I have not had to tell anyone in the house to be quite, stop writing on the walls, cleanup that drink you spilled, or “close the door!” I am planning to goto a store and just look around without hearing, “I’m bored, can we goto McDonald’s, he won’t stop touching me!” So this is the sound of silence, silence makes me happy.

The kids held up signs and waved at the passing cars and the cars entering the reception.
