Hello World, lets talk about 'Savings' & 'Borrowing' today!!
2007-07-09 21:21:00
Been suffering from a cash crunch of a late and it has been mostly because I never saved up much cash from my earlier jobs in fact I merryly borrowed more and more and blew all of it. This has led to me 'searching for answers' and the simple answer is to understand the great concepts of 'Savings' 'Investments' etc. In fact I started a blog on it as well, hoping it would keep me motivated to learn as much about finance as possible. Yes, most people understand the concept early in life with their experiences of piggy banks but many fail to understand the importance of it. Simply put, savings can be called 'postponing consumption'. Have you ever looked at an ants colony collection food? if no, then you should see once how tirelessly they go about collecting grains and other materials for a rainy day. Watch high quality Movies at Go4ent.com
2007-07-08 12:26:00
I was surfing the net and found a website that I thought I might share. You get to watch many great High quality Bollywood movies at this site without paying a penny. I ended up seeing 'Agneepath' yesterday at the site (Yes the entire movie!!) and yes, it was good quality. The two big problems are that you can't download the movies of the site and they chose to use the Divx format which is pity. So, the buffering is not great!! Of course you need a high speed Internet Connection as well with no download limits. [I can only watch movies at night after 11 cos then the downloads free for me :)] Please follow the link below to the site :-UPDATE :-The site also has hollwood movies, sorry :)Watch high quality Movie s at Go4ent.com: "Watch High Quality Movies"

Die Hard 4
2007-07-08 11:59:00
Saw Die Hard 4 at Gem in Bandra yesterday with a couple of friends and we really enjoyed the movie, If you ask whether it was worth watching a word, I 'd say 'Hell Yeah". I won't go in to all the expert like talk that so many folks use talking of character development and stuff but the action in the film is awesome but disbelief really does need to be suspended if you want to enjoy the movie, for example, there is a scene in which Bruce Willis is in a Trailer vehicle and is attacked by a F-16 jet fighter, the fighter pilot only fires one missile on the truck [which does not hit the truck of course but hits the column just next to the truck] and after that he decides that he must come down and take out the truck with it's machine guns and in the end it fails and Bruce Willis manages to take out the Jet and survive and also ends up right at the tail of the van he was following earlier carrying his daughter and a hacker who helps to save the world along with him. But even though wh...

Sports is chauvinistic, but I've changed mindsets: Mandira
2007-07-04 07:48:00
Sports is chauvinistic, but I've changed mindsets:That is what, Mandira Bedi admits to feeling these days, she goes on to say that much of the controversy she attracts has to do with her being a woman in the male-dominated world of sports. She could have a point there as well, most people think women are way too dumb when it comes to any sports, I have always had this impression whenever I have watched cricket in the company of females (my mum, sis, aunts etc) they simply don't pay any attention to what is the situation in the match and instead concentrate on the jyotish predictions, hairstyles, wives, controversies, ad campaigns etc that the players have pretty much like Sharad Pawar these days I would say. They shout 5 times more when something happens and have to be explained what signal the umpire made, I bet Charu Sharma, Boycott and the rest have had to go through this with Mandira and tired of her...

Mumbai?s housing is the priciest in the developing world
2007-07-04 03:43:00
According to report on Global Property Guide, housing in the financial hub of India - Mumbai , is costlier than anywhere else in the developing world. 'Apartments in South Mumbai cost around US$9,000 to US$10,200 per square metre. ?Such stellar prices can only be found in the world?s leading cities,? says Yasmin Rahman, yields and valuation analyst at the Global Property Guide.' While property prices in other cities in India is much cheaper. Bangalore, for example, costs US$950 to US$2,000 per sq. m. These prices are exceptionally high for a country with a GDP per person of only US$770 in 2006 the page adds. For Mumbaikars, this is not a very surprising news!! It's no coincidence that around 60% of Mumbaikars live in slums. (news flash for those who think that people live in slums by choice)A major cause of the shortage of cheap housing is that India?s rental market is still hindered by socialist laws protecting tenants. Although these laws are slowly being replaced by mo...

2007-07-03 19:42:00
Global Warming is not an event that is going to happen sometime in the future, many believe that it's already here. This year is on track to be the world's second warmest on record, experts warned yesterday. Based on temperature records at the end of April, 2007 will be the second warmest year since records began in the 1860s. The warmest was 1998. In terms of extreme events, more than 500 have died in storms and floods in Britain, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India in the past week. Temperatures in Greece reached 46C (114.80F) this week, as part of a heatwave in southern Europe. China has also had a heatwave in recent days. Hell, Kashmir had temperatures reaching 40 degrees centigrade this year!! Almost all climate experts say that the trend is towards more droughts, floods, heatwaves and more powerful storms. Yesterday, Salvano Briceno, director of the Geneva-based secretariat of the U.N. International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, said that the world had to work out better poli...

Still no compensation for 7/11 victims??
2007-07-03 07:18:00
Only 8 days remain for a year to be completed since the 7/11 train blasts that rocked the nations financial hub and guess what?? many of the victims or their families have not yet received the financial compensation promised to them. This is absolutely sick, I can imagine how it must be for those families, visiting the government offices every week or so, and being promised that the money will be dispatched soon enough. This must be music to the ears of the terrorists who were responsible for the blasts. After all they just want to see India ns suffer one way or the other...Mumbai Blasts
