Kisses

Here is a cute little video of Emily blowing kisses. The other day I was hugging and kissing on her and asked her to give momma a kiss on the cheek and she looked at me and instead of kissing me she blew me a kiss. So cute!! She doesn't blow kisses all the time when asked but she will do a lot of the time. She is getting a little more brave with standing on her own. Every once in awhile she will let go of something and stand for 6-8 seconds. Then she realizes what she is doing and promptly sits down. She would much rather crawl to her destination. She got a new tooth today. The total is now up to 6.

Vacation (part 3)

For the last part of our vacation we decided to head home up 101 instead of I-5. Alicia and I wanted to take the girls to the Beach and also stop by Solvang (a cute little Dutch town). Since my parents grew up in Southern California they knew of a lot of beaches in the area that were nice. We ended up stopping in Santa Barbara for a few minutes to take some pictures on the beach. When we got there Emily was sound asleep and she wasn't feeling very good so being the good mom that I am I let her sleep and skipped out on taking pictures of her at the beach. We did get some cute ones of Anna though.We also stopped by Solvang to do a little window shopping and to eat lunch. As a kid our family stopped here a lot on our way home from southern California. The happiest place on earth~With over 1050 pictures taken on our trip and 600 of them taken at Disneyland this post is sure to have a ton of pictures for you to look at. The Disneyland part of the trip was way too short. We decided to only do Disneyland and make the most of it since we only had one day. As was expected Emily did not enjoy the characters too much. She liked them at a distance but if they came to close to her she let them know that she didn't like it. She did however love the rides. Especially Dumbo because it was fast enough for her and she loved the wind blowing in her face. She did awesome while in the park and just took everything in that she could. While over in ToonTown she was able to get out of her stroller and play in Goofy's Garden and in his house as well. She loved being able to explore things and crawl all over. Our weekend (part 1)

Meeting the Great Grandparents~I am going to do our vacation in 3 parts for you each loaded with lots of pictures. We had so much fun and crammed the weekend very full. The main reason for the trip was for Emily and Anna to meet their great grandparents. It also happened to be my grandparents 65th wedding anniversary that weekend so we had a little family get together with them. We got to see cousins and Aunt and Uncles that we haven't seen in quite some time. We left Friday morning and headed to Fillmore, we visited there until Sunday. While there we did a little shopping hung out with family and just had a nice relaxing time. One thing that Emily thought was great fun on this trip was to take Anna's pacifier out of her mouth and then try and stick it back in. New couch and a Jamba Juice

For the past few days Zachary and I have both been sick. Having 2 parents that are sick is not very fun at all. Although I think that Emily might have enjoyed it because we would just lay on the floor and watch her play. She had our undivided attention for 2 days straight. Anyway I was feeling a little better today so I thought I would go enjoy a Jamba juice since that is the only thing that sounded good to me. I decided to get Emily her very own little Jamba juice and she loved every ounce of it. I had to refill her cup twice from mine because she would drink hers so fast. Check out this website Munchie Mug.This is the best thing ever. A girl that I go to MOPS with invented this great product. Her family has been working on it for a few years and it is finally on the market. I can't say enough good things about it. Everyone with toddlers should order one. It is worth every penny. On the run

So, I have been telling myself that I really need to get back to running again. For weeks okay months now I keep saying I will start next week. Well, this is the week that I actually listened to myself. Zachary showed me how to create my own podcast and I created it using garage band. It is amazing how much better the run is when you have good music to keep you going. Now I am back on the running program with the intent to run my first half marathon in the near future. I have always wanted to say I ran a marathon and I will be half way there soon.Emily is doing much better now and is almost back to her happy self. I say almost because she is cutting teeth right now and it isn't very much fun for her. She has 5 and 2 more are coming in soon. She still has no interest in walking but she can crawl very fast and even has a cute crawl that makes us laugh every time she does it. You can check out a little video here of her funky crawl

I see that it has been awhile since I updated. Although a lot sooner then others who will remain anonymous but we all know who you are.Going to Grandma'sEmily had her first overnighter at Grandpa & Grandma's house on Friday night. I was really looking forward to being able to sleep in the next morning. It has been over a year since I got to sleep as long as I wanted too. I was so excited to sleep in that I actually stayed up until 1:30 so I could sleep longer in the morning. I woke up at about 8:30 and decided to call my mom thinking that she would say Emily is doing great and I could go back to bed for awhile. Well, when I talked to her she said that Emily had been up since about 11:00 the night before with just a few little cat naps here and there. Maybe a total of about an hour she said. Ice Cream, Ice Cream...

We had the best week last week. Zachary took the whole week off and we just enjoyed hanging out at home. We had originally talked about taking a little vacation or even just a few day trips but decided that we would most enjoy just staying home and getting some thing done around the house and just relax a little. Zachary got most of the things crossed off his to do list and I enjoyed having him around. He took Emily on a lot of his errands which aloud me some time to do some scrapbooking. On one night we decided to take a walk to a little ice cream place by our house. So I called to make sure they would be open and they said they were open until 7:00. We get to the ice cream place at 6:00 and go up the window to order ice cream and they said that they just shut down the machine to clean it for the night. I was so bummed, I really wanted a soft serve ice cream. When I called I didn't think to ask if you would still be serving food an hour before you close. So we walk back home...

Emily had her 1 year well baby check-up recently and I thought I would do a little side by side comparison to see how much she has grown. It is amazing to see how much she has learned in her little life. She has a mind of her own and thinks she can fool us sometimes with her cute little ways. She knows what she likes and doesn't like and doesn't mind letting us know. Really the only time that she is grumpy is when she is tired and all we have to do is put her in bed and she finds her blanky and her thumb and she is happy. She LOVES to sleep much to my delight. She is such a great baby and is pretty easy going. She loves to be out and about just looking at all the new things around her. She loves to give out her smiles to everyone. Party Time

Emily's Party was a huge success!! She had a lot of friends and family there to help her celebrate. The party was a cupcake theme and she got her very own extra large cupcake to make a mess with. She actually kept her birthday hat that I made for her on her head while she was making a mess with her cake. I am so glad that it was such a beautiful day and we could have the party outside. 1st Haircut

Emily got her first haircut today with Auntie Heather. We didn't cut off very much, in fact it wasn't really enough to even save. She just had a lot of long hairs that kept hanging in her eyes and she needed a little trim. She did fairly well. She kept wanting to see what Auntie was doing with the scissors. 1st pigtails

How cute are these little pigtails!! Emily's hair is finally long enough to put in pigtails. And as long as she doesn't feel them with her hand they stay in. Once she puts her hand on her head and realizes they are there it is all over and she will not stop until she can pull them out. It is cute while they last though. Right now it is very hard to get her to smile at the camera. Once I set her down she is all about finding new things to put in her mouth or she is off to explore something new. Anything but look at the camera for me. Last week she started on whole milk and loves it. She loves to drink it out of a sippy cup cold. So glad we don't have to buy formula anymore. She has mastered coming down the stairs now and I am so glad. It is so cute to watch her scoot down on her little belly. Only 9 more days until she is a 1 year old!!

Warm Weather Fun

The weather the past few weeks has been beautiful and Emily enjoyed every minute of it. She is such an outside girl. She loves the warm sunshine on her face. We spent as much time outside as would allow. We took many trips to the park, walked to the library and to get ice cream. She loved it all. One of her favorite things to do is to swing at the park. She likes it best when you catch the swing on its return and then let go again. As much as I enjoy cold rainy weather I am looking forward to the fun stuff that we can do outside with Emily this summer. I have really been enjoying the photography class that I am taking online. I have learned so much about my camera and that I really want a new lens too. Hopefully I can get a new lens soon.It looks like my sister and I get to take the girls to Disneyland next month and I am beyond excited. She is climbing

Much to my surprise Emily is now climbing stairs. The other day I was cooking in the kitchen and I turned around and she was up on the second step. I was totally shocked because she really hasn't been trying to climb them at all. I guess all of a sudden she figured she could do it and off she went. It is her favorite thing to do now. She can get about half way up before I realize that she took off. She thinks that she can just sit down without seeing if there are steps under her too. She loves to crawl up the 3 steps to the first landing and play around on it. She gets up there and turns around to make sure we are watching and gives us a big smile! She is just so proud of herself. We are trying to teach her how to come down backwards on her tummy and she actually did it tonight for the first time.Also today she starting walking along the couch. Tahoe

We had such a great time in Tahoe this last weekend. It was way too short though. The day that we decided to go skiing was perfect. Sunny and beautiful blue skies. I was a little worried about skiing this season because I had to skip last season being pregnant and all. The first run down was a little scary but my skills came back in no time. Mind you I wasn't taking all the runs that everyone else did but I was throughly enjoying myself. Kim and I switched off doing half day so that we could stay with Em. It was Em's first time seeing snow and I have to say that she wasn't to fond of it. It was kinda of a bummer because I had some really cute board pants that I wanted to get some pictures of her in but she only lasted about 5 minutes before it was just too cold out there for her. A hodgepodge of happenings

Well, the new year is here and I am a little relieved that the holiday season is over. I love Christmas time but sometimes I just get overwhelmed with all that I had planned to do and I always tell myself that I will not do so much the next year but I always end up doing just as much. I took down all the decorations last night and after hauling it all up to the attic and putting Zachary's massive ladder away I found one that forgot to get in the box. So now I have to find a place to store it for a year and then not forget where I stored it when I get the rest of the decorations out next year. We have one more Christmas celebration with the Nevada Walker's at the end of the month. We are going skiing in Tahoe for the weekend and it should be a great time together. I think that my favorite part will be when I can get Emily up in the morning and give her over to Grandma and then go back to bed. Merry Christmas

It is Christmas Evening and we just got home from my parents house. At this moment Emily is crawling all over trying to eat anything that she can get into her mouth. She is no longer rolling everywhere because she realized it is much faster to crawl now. Unless of course to his on the linoleum then she just slides everywhere she wants to go. Today was a very good day and Emily enjoyed her first Christmas. Today we also had a new cousin join our family. Shane & Tina were blessed with a new baby boy. They were expecting a girl but it was indeed a boy. They were still thinking of girls names when they were headed to the hospital this morning so now they are trying to figure out a boys name. I will post pictures later but for now I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas !!

Crawling

It took her awhile but Emily is finally crawling. It was neat because Zachary and I were both there when she decided that she could finally take off on all fours. At this point she would still much rather roll to get to her destination but she is going a little farther on all fours everyday. It is so cute to watch - first she usually sticks her behind way up in the air and then comes back to all fours and picks her leg way up to move forward. Sometimes it is more of a bounce crawl then a walk. It is so cute to watch!!We are so looking forward to our first Christmas with Emily. We finished up all our shopping and wrapping yesterday so now we can relax the rest of the weekend. Emily opened one present from Grandpa & Grandma Walker and true to what everyone says she loved the box and tissue paper more. She got a very cute Christmas blanket that she sleeps with every night. I couldn't keep you waiting any longer. Emily is just too cute!! Here is a little clip of her and her cute little scrunchy face. The best one is at the end of the video. On a sad note: we had to take down our tree that you saw pictures of in the last post. Since we put it up on Sunday Emily had been getting a stuffy nose and last night was the worst. Poor little thing couldn't breathe when she tried to suck her thumb. She was miserable and did not sleep well at all. It's just one more way she is like her daddy. (allergies are horrible) I hate seeing my baby girl suffer. So this morning before I left for work I told Zachary that we should probably take our tree down. So unbeknownst to me he decided to go out buy a fake one for us. The awesome thing is that when I got home the fake one was up and all the ornaments hung and the garland strung. It looks great!! Thanks Zachary and Katie. I will take some pictures of our new tree and post them later.

My 2 front teeth

Emily got her two front bottom teeth this year for Christmas. One came in last week and the other followed just days after. She has done really well with them coming in and has not even been that cranky. I actually didn't even realize they had come in until someone said that she saw something that looked white in her mouth. She is such a little trooper. We have been doing so much since Thanksgiving and have taken a lot of pictures. So I created a collage of the pictures for you to look at. Emily has been making the cutest little face lately. We call it her squishy face. She lifts her head up and then wrinkles up her little nose. We got a good clip of it on video so I will put it on here in the next few days so y'all can see how cute it is.We decorated our tree last Sunday and had a great time doing it. Happy Thanksgiving

Since August Heather and I have been training to run the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. I had originally thought that it was a 5K but after looking into it I found out it was a 6 mile run. Just the thought of running 6 miles made me exhausted so we decided that we would run 3.2 miles and then walk the rest. Our goal was not to place but just to say that we ran that far. When we first started training I could barely run 60 seconds without being exhausted. I would never have thought that I could even run 3 miles let alone 6. Justin suggested that we try and do the 6 miles but I just laughed at him. Then a few weeks ago we thought why not give it a try. So we lengthened our run. Well, I am happy to say that we did it!!! I can not believe that we finished the 6 mile run. We didn't come in 1st by any means but we didn't come in last either. Emily has been learning some new things lately. Her newest thing is to clap when we say "Yay" or start to clap too. This is the first thing that she has done that is copying us. It is so cute to see her little hands clap together. She is so proud of herself. She is starting to get up on all fours but has yet to crawl. She is talking a lot and likes to hear the sound of her voice which only makes her get louder and louder. She says "da-da" a lot but I don't think she has associated it with her daddy yet. She is a picky eater and only likes to eat her fruits and no meats or veggies. She is such a great baby and is a just a joy to be around.

Strawberry Sweetness

Isn't she the sweetest thing!! We got a ton of pictures for Emily's first Halloween. She got to dress up twice this year. Once for the Family fest at the Walker's church and then again for Trunk or Treat at our church. While we were taking pictures of her in costume Uncle Caleb had the great idea of giving her a whole strawberry to eat. She loved it and gummed the thing until is was all mushy. She also got her first taste of Cotton Candy from Auntie Lauri.At Trunk or Treat last night she didn't get to taste anything for the first time but we had fun watching all the kids play games and helping me make a smore. We got to see all the cousins in their cute costumes. Anna was toasty warm in her Cheshire cat costume that Alicia made for her. And Noah was the cutest little pirate. Pahrump

We had a great time visiting family in Pahrump this last week. Nanny, Grandmom & Grandad got to see Emily for the first time. I think they agree that she is the cutest thing ever. We ended up leaving for Pahrump at 9:30 Friday evening and Emily slept the whole way there. On the way home we left in the morning and we ended up stopping a few times for her to get out of her car seat and stretch. As soon as we got her out she just started kicking her little legs. It was so cute. All in all she was great!! We had a great time at the pumpkin patch on Sunday. I ended up with over 200 pictures between my camera and Alicia's and we were only there for about 2 hours. I tried to only pick a few pictures to show you but I just had too many cute ones so I narrowed it down as best I could.
