As it turns out, crossbow technology is still relevant
2007-09-06 01:51:00 An interesting experiment took place this afternoon. Seeing that the fortifications on my weapon were weakening with age, I replaced them with a healthy new batch of rubber cordage.I decided to increase the number of said cords and it was then that the mockers spoke. "It's too many," they said. "It won't work," they said. They wagged their tongues and shook their heads.But then.Or as that Old English poet once put it:Hwæt!I fired a projectile from my newly girded weapon and, oh what beauty, to watch the arrow soar through the clear, blue atmosphere of the Treena compound.Thwack! came the tattoo of my dart on the drywall.And then they stopped laughing. For they had seen that the principles of crossbow design hold yet true.Let the Office Wars rejoinder. More About: Technology , Relevant
The Instigator
2007-09-04 23:11:00 So by now there may be some of you out there wondering, “Exactly how can I start some Office Wars of my own?” Well my young apprentice(s), there are a few sure fire techniques that will help to bring your co-workers to their knees on the fierce, non-lethal battlefield that is the corporate office. But first, let’s review why office wars are important: They build competition – As we already know, competition is a healthy thing.They build team camaraderie – Knowing that a co-worker has your back on the field of battle can easily extend into real work situations such as sales calls and client meetings.It releases stress – Nailing someone from another department in the head with a nerf dart makes a wonderfully satisfying “thud” sound.It takes careful planning and strategy – Hey, that’s the kind of stuff we need everyday at work!! So how exactly does one go about starting an office war? Well first you would need to understan... More About: Gator , Tiga , Gato
Peace = Death
2007-09-01 00:25:00 Ever since I can remember, I've always had an allergic reaction to peace and stability. Peace and stability are often considered to be a good thing, if you believe the financial and political pundits of our age. They are likened to a placid lake of harmony that nurtures growth and cohesion. They form a gentle breeze that carries all boats towards the horizons of prosperity and goodwill. As I am writing this, I have already thrown up slightly into my mouth and have swallowed it back down. I can feel the acid sear away the lining of my esophagus, much like an inquisitor would pour boiling oil over the naked flesh of a strapped-down heretic.In my view of the world (--and believe me, I have viewed every dark pit this world has to offer), peace and stability form a recessive gene that pops up in our history every now and again. It does nothing but dull the minds of the masses. It turns drive and determination into a complacent jar of sheepish goo. We are currently in the middle of one ... More About: Death
Wii are Healthy
2007-08-31 23:04:00 If you subscribe to the philosophy that competition is a healthy thing then our office wars will have us all living well into the next century (minus any casualties of course).Not only have we been on the battlefield of Halo but "wii" have also been on the sports field as well. We're lucky enough to have a Nintendo Wii in the office and between the bowling, boxing and golf, there's plenty of competition to go around. Some of us have already created our Mii's. A recreation of mine is shown. More About: Healthy , Heal
Paying 20-Bucks to Get Your Ass Kicked
More articles from this author:2007-08-30 23:19:00 Some ideas are worse than others ...So the other day 2 to the C asks if we want to buy the full version of Halo Combat Evolved because it lets you use tanks and other cool weapons that would mix up our after hours gaming. We’ve been playing the multiplayer demo of Halo Combat Evolved for a while now and routinely getting our asses kicked by PDuddy. For a guy that’s getting married he seems to have a lot of time on his hands for handing out ass whoopings on Halo Combat Evolved.2 to the C sells the idea paying $20 for the game by saying that having new weapons and combat terrains will even the playing field and take away PDuddy’s advantage due to his uncanny knowledge of the demo’s Blood Gultch. Sounded reasonable so I spent the money on Halo Combat Evolved.First off, the game is great, there are a lot of cool weapons and you can ride around in tanks and blow up the other players if you get the drop on them. Problem is, PDuddy kicks ass even with the full version of Halo Comba... More About: Bucks , Kick 1, 2 |
