Its a stretch to get 7 people in a 2CV
2007-09-24 20:57:00
A CAR crazy motor fanatic has converted his crusty old Citroen 2CV into a stretch LIMOUSINE - to make room for his seven-strong family.Petrol head Anthony Willsmer had to transport his family of seven in two cars, before welding two Citroen 2CVs together to make a super-spacious 14ft Citroen limo.Anthony, 43, from Oswestry, Shropshire, stumbled on the idea after joking to a pal they should convert his old Citroen into a limousine.Decorator Anthony then spent a YEAR welding his 18-year-old 2CV to another unused model to make his dream car.He said: ?It has taken about 12 months on and off to complete.?The Citroen 2CV was my first car when I was 17 so I have had them ever since.?I took my last 2CV and cut it in half, which was quite sad to see.??We then added parts from a scrapped 2CV to fit in the middle and put a new engine in and generally strengthened up all the suspension. The limo also has a new chassis, chrome bumpers and alloy wheels.?It?s funny how people stop and have a look ...

Pub team become Champions League stars
2007-09-22 22:33:00
WITH the likes of Kaka, Ronaldinho and Rooney their team sheet reads like a Champions League dream team. But the players of lowly Lynam Athletic actually play in the Birmingham Coronation League Alliance Division 3, and last season finished bottom. The team needed an inspirational way to strike fear into their opposition - so they ALL officially changed their names by deed poll to professional footballers for the start of this season. With Peter Cech in goal and a back four of Paulo Maldini, Cafu, John Terry and Fabio Cannavaro - their defence sounds like a force to be reckoned with. And the appetising prospects of a midfield of Steven Gerrard, Ronaldinho, Kaka and Christiano Ronaldo would have any manager licking his lips.Thierry Henry and Ruud van Nistelrooy make up the front line but unfortunately, all are merely a bunch of IT workers from the West Midlands. And now the squad of 17 players - who have even had their new names printed on their shirts - are looking a better prospect ...
