Super High Me
2008-04-21 13:50:00 Question: Where do LOLcats come from? Answer: Lolland But seriously... I was looking for an exciting trailer to post about today and all I could find was The Spirit trailer which looks decent but how many Frank Miller-styled movies are going to come out before the gimmick wears off? I loved Sin City but there's no need to milk the cow until it gives blood. There's no second place in the creative innovation race. Instead I found this trailer for a documentary coming straight to DVD this summer called Super High Me where Doug Benson gets high for 30 days and then doesn't get high for 30 days.

2008-04-20 01:08:00 If you've come to my humble doorstep today, expecting anything more than a mental turd, you may be very sadly disappointed, my friend. Very sadly disappointed indeed.
Tragedy in Retrospect
2008-04-18 13:56:00 One year ago this week on GorillaSushi, I revealed a rare bit of serious morality... This Is a Tragedy This is not an epidemic. This is not an isolated incident. Sony Foam City Commercial
2008-04-15 13:33:00 Sony is well known for their fantastic, epic commercials and their new one is no exception. The first and best Sony commercial I've seen is the Bouncy Balls, best seen in high res on Sony's site. After that came the Paint Geysers, the Clay Bunnies and the Pyramids of Egypt covered in thread. The newest advert involves covering a section of downtown Miami in foam. The high res version can be seen at Sony's site, here but it's running pretty slow right now so here's the YouTube version... Bravo, Sony. Bravo. Or should I say "Bravia, Sony"? Sorry, I'm going to go punch myself in the face now. More About: Commercial , Sony , City , Foam

Future Girl Instead of Monkey Caption Contest
2008-04-10 13:45:00 As with every Thursday, I've been frantically searching for that perfect picture for this week's caption contest. I needed a picture that would embody the spirit of GorillaSushi, capture to mood of our culture in this moment, make a bold social statement and provide a spring-board for the captioning masses. I thought that I had it when I came across this picture of Charlton Heston from Planet of the Apes but then I realized that there could really only be one good caption. I added it myself and I think you'll agree that there could be no better. Instead, below is this week's real picture for your captioning pleasures... Have at it, kids... Dizzy
2008-04-09 13:54:00 My desktop is totally flaking on me this morning. I can't log in to GorillaSushi through either FireFox or IE so I'm posting this via my laptop. I guess that's the final hint I needed to go buy a new computer. This is how dealing with computer problems makes me feel sometimes. Can't wait to play this game. So should I go Vista or XP? No, I'm not getting another Mac.

Laser Saturday
2008-04-06 00:15:00 I remember when I was in grade school and those little pocket laser-pointers became popular with the cool kids. They would use them to cause permanent eye damage to the nerds and sometimes to themselves but mostly utilize them to highlight the teachers' butts when they were writing on the chalkboard. It was all good secret fun until somebody decided that that laser-pointing the teacher's boob was a good idea. Our teachers must have had enough confiscated lasers in her desk to put on her own Pink Floyd laser light show. Speaking of - that's the only other association I have with lasers. Somewhere around 18 years old, my friends and I would occasionally head up to the community college for cheesy laser light shows produced by students. They were "enlightening". Then a few days ago, I was brought into the Age of Laser s! The very kind company TechLasers, decided to send one of their lasers to play with and review! I received not one but two la... Entrecard Price vs Traffic Study
2008-03-29 22:58:00 This isn't another post about how great Entrecard is nor is it another post about how much Entrecard sucks. This isn't a list of tricks and tips for using EC either. If you don't use Entrecard on your own blog (you should), you'll probably not find anything of interest in this post. This is some research that I've spent hours on today in order to bolster a hypothesis I've had. I hope every user of EC gets a chance to read this and draw their own conclusions and I hope Graham and PhiRatE get a chance to look at it too. Now on to the science... I'm comparing two benchmarks. Brief explanations of each and disclaimers below. Entrecard Ad Price I chose to focus this study on the Art Category of EC because it is a reasonable size to work with (163 sites) and because it has a broad range of ad prices (between 2 and 580 at time of sample). The number of usable sites for this study was only 133 because of... Pages not found Ads disabled Inaccurate ... More About: Study , Traffic , Alexa

New Media Attention Whore
2008-03-25 12:59:00 Yeah, that's me. --> Call it networking, call it whoring or call it compulsive friending but one thing is for sure - I love adding friends on teh interwebs. Add me and join my community and (eventually) I'll do the same for you. Del.icio.us - I use it a lot but don't really touch the networking feature as much as I should. Flickr - Check out my dumbass cell phone pictures! Add me as a contact and I'll be sure to deface your pics with cheeky notes. Last.fm - I've just barely started playing with this one. MySpace - I don't use it for much now but I may in the future. For now I'm just a friend slut. Twitter - I've been using Twitter a lot lately and having a lot of fun with it. The Easter Bunny Hates You
2008-03-22 19:44:00 I just got back from our community's Easter egg hunt event. I got to be the official photographer. In other words, I got to be the middle aged guy with no children walking around taking pictures of little girls and boys. I got the most looks while photographing the hoola-hoop contest. Maybe later I'll post the link the the Flickr pics of the event, seeing as I took like a thousand. I'm in the Easter spirit but I'm still thawing out so for now, here's the ultimate Easter video. It's a tradition for me to post and even if you've seen it before, you know you want to watch it again... Unbearably awesome, right? That was made by the fine folks over at Black20. You can see the nearly equally awesome prequel here. More About: Easter Bunny , Bunny
HomePagle
2008-03-22 19:18:00 What is HomePagle? Do you have a picture as your desktop background? Do you have Google set as your homepage? If you've answered yes to both of these questions then you'll probably be interested in HomePagle. If you've answered "no" then I should inform you that you're weird and people do talk about you behind your back. Sorry. HomePagle is a simple idea. Essentially, put a background image behind the Google homepage. Spice it up a bit. You can choose from their galleries with categories such as Animals, Cars, Celebrities, Landscapes and Movies or you can upload your own (probably naughty or embarrassing) picture. The Pros: It's simple - you really can't mess it up. Pick or upload a picture and then mark it as your home page. It's still at heart just the Google search engine so your not losing any search functionality. Clicking on "images", "news", "maps", etc. takes you to your normal Google pages - Ho...
