No Wonder I Live on Coffee
2010-10-23 15:07:00 Good Saturday Morning!I have hot coffee... but alas, with my cold it tastes terrible and I'm not enjoying it. I am sipping for the heat and warmth it provides for my throat and sinuses though!~ ~ ~ ~My husband and kids always tease me about going to bed 'early' - but it's because I'm always tired! By 9:pm I'm exhausted so I'm usually in bed reading by about 9:30 or 10:00 and falling asleep by 10:30 or so.And this morning I just laughed (to myself) because it's so obvious why I am! This is a very typical Friday night..........LAST NIGHT....No one is home so I take my laptop up to bed to read online around 9:pm.I'm getting drowsy by 9:45 pm and turn off the lights and drift off to sleep. It's restless as I have my head cold and I have a hard time breathing.9:50 text by Bianca about spending the night at a friends house and what movie they are watching.10:15 text by Bianca - she isn't spending the night but will come home after the movie. 2010-10-22 15:20:00 Good Morning -Sipping coffee this morning because it's hot... but it still doesn't taste good with my cold. This morning's coffee talk may be boring but I've only got a minute and I've got to get ready for work and it's something that I've been trying to get to the bottom of this weekend and it's frustrating.PayPal.I needed to find some area rugs to match the large kitchen and family room rugs I bought a couple weeks ago. I finally found them online - on clearance a they've been discontinued. I wanted to hurry and get them for two reasons; 1) they're discontinued so they won't be around long and 2) I have family from out of state visiting our home in a couple weeks and they never seen our home before - and right now I have 3 different kinds/colors area rugs in the kitchen and it looks stupid. I need to hurry and get the rugs so I can finally throw away my red rugs and the brown/blue/orange/khaki striped rugs that now are clashing in my kitchen.I have no 'extra' fun... Patrick Gets a Ticket
2010-10-21 15:56:00 Good Morning Coffee Friends!I don't think you want what I'm drinking this morning... Theraflu. No coffee for me, just some "Cold & Sinus" liquid goodness that will make my head stop spinning and relieve some of the pressure. Yes, I'm down and out with a horrible head cold. I'll make you all some cyber coffee though! This weekend I mentioned that Patrick was making his first long-distance car trip by himself. He was going to drive about 7 1/2 hours to one of our previous homes and spend the weekend catching up with old friends he hadn't seen since they were in 3rd grade. They are all seniors in high school now! Almost 10 years. He's been in touch with many of them on Facebook over the past couple years but it's not the same as face-to-face so he was anxious to make the trip.Armed with my GPS, a backup Google map and a duffel bag of clothes, he set off. There is an especially long stretch of interstate that goes through nothing but fields for about 3-4 hours. During...
Make Up Your Own Name For It Chicken
2010-10-19 14:21:00 Coffee... but only because it's hot. I am coming down with a whopper of a cold. Coffee tastes terrible but I wanted something hot to scald my throat and clear the mucus. I'll take some cold meds later and I'm bringing some Theraflu Hot Tea with me to work to drink.Last night I made a delicious chicken entree. If anyone is interested was really good with a rich sauce that was great on the chicken but also wonderful on the rice and vegetables - I mixed mine all together on my plate almost like a casserole. It's kind of a 'grandma' recipe - but it's quick and easy and was really delicious for an Autumn night. I'll probably put this on my recipe website as well but I'll have to think of a name for it by then. LOL.Make up your own name for it 'Chicken '4-6 boneless chicken breasts1 can cream of chicken soup1 package (dry) Good Seasons Italian Dressing mix1/2 c dry white wine (not anything fruity)1 c water (actually more like 3/4 or so... not a full cup)1 small can slice... Monday Morning Coffee Talk - Opera Singers Probably Don't Need Scissor Cutt
2010-10-18 14:49:00 Saturday morning's daily devotional reading was based on 1 Corinthians 12:4 - about the different gifts we all have. My devotional book is geared towards Moms so mothers write the inspirational prose that go with it and sometimes it 'clicks' and sometimes it doesn't. At first I didn't think that mornings reading was going to click with me. The Mom wrote that when her son was 5 and was going to go to kindergarten, they met with the teacher who suggested they keep him home one more year because he couldn't cut well with scissors. They took several days to think about it and decided to enroll him anyway. He did fine and grew up to be an accomplished opera singer. The author went on to say their son 'has never been denied an opera role because he couldn't cut well with scissors'!I loved it.As we struggle with Patrick trying to keep up with school year his senior year, I find myself worrying. I spend wasted hours worrying about him, his struggle in school, his grades and ... More About: Coffee , Opera , Talk , Morning , Singers
Isn't TV Producing 101 teaching about signing consent forms for minors?
2010-10-18 01:55:00 As the Mom of teenagers I read this news article and my eyebrows shot up;A Georgia woman whose 15-year-old daughter appeared on an episode of Tyra Banks' talk show featuring teen sex addicts is suing the TV host for $3 million. In a lawsuit filed Oct. 8 in federal court in Atlanta, Beverly McClendon says her daughter appeared on the former model's talk show without McClendon's permission.Banks, Warner Bros. Entertainment and the producers of the show are named as defendants.A spokesman for Warner Bros. Television Group said Sunday that the company has no comment. The lawsuit claims violation of privacy and negligence. It asks for $3 million in damages and seeks to keep the episode from ever being aired again.McClendon says her daughter suffered damages because the 2009 show "was undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles."This story is odd in so many reasons! Now, with 2 kids past the 15-year old mark and one hovering closely (she is 14) I know that teens have... More About: Teaching , Producing
Morning! Patrick is Headed for another State Today
2010-10-16 14:56:00 It's not a huge deal, I know... but it's another chapter in parenting that is new to us.Patrick is driving North about 8 (or so) hours to one of the cities we used to live. We moved away when he was in 3rd grade but with the help of the internet he stayed in touch with some of the kids, especially one of the girls. All the kids grew up, left their small Catholic grade school and went on their way in high school.Tonight they are having a reunion of sorts for the kids that went to Catholic School up there in grade school. They are going to go out to eat and then have a bonfire and Patrick will stay with one of the kids overnight. Tomorrow morning they are all going to go to church together at their 'old' church/school as a group. He'll come home some time after that. This child has never driven outside of our own home city. He's directionally challenged. He once was taking a girl home who lives about 20 minutes away and called me from a random interstate he accidentally took a... 2008-06-06 18:08:00 Interesting observation: No matter how many times you say to your husband "Pack light. We have NO room" and "the smallest bag we have..." he'll still pack enough clothes for 3 people and come out of the closet carrying a duffel bag. But after you set an example and make him feel foolish by 'thinking' out loud while you pack; "Hmm, I can wear this t-shirt and this hoodie sweatshirt again More About: Post , Back

2008-06-06 14:07:00 It's morning time! Wake up!! Got to sleep around 12:45 and was up at 5:20 to get the kids up for weight lifting. I would have been more than happy to go back to bed except for the fact that once I'm up, I'm up and that I knew I had to do some laundry and make some 'icing cement' and get the bows on top of the cake. Big Plans for the Stimulus Check? Uh, Not so Much
2008-06-06 13:55:00 According to the IRS letter I received last week we should be getting a stimulus check pretty soon. Of course, I was actually expecting it last month, based on our social security numbers but apparently if you used Turbo Tax to do your taxes and had the filing fee's deducted from the refund, it put you in the group of people waiting for a 'paper check'. It's all good though. I mean it's not More About: Check , Plans

Warning: The Wachovia Scam Letter
