How to get what you want
2008-04-10 08:59:00 This internet thing has really brought out some creative ideas. You may remember the One Red Paperclip site from a couple years ago where a guy started with a single red paperclip and traded his way all the way up to a house. Now, an artistic couple from NYC are painting what they want and selling it for the actual price of the item they want. The list includes food, electronics, charity stuff and rent to name just a few. For example, they painted a picture of hot wings from a local hangout and sold it for $12.70. Or, the painting of the iPhone they wanted sold for $432.42. The Best Little League Game Ever
2008-04-09 08:25:00 Those crazy cats over at Improv Everywhere have done it again. They descended upon an unsuspecting little league game in Hermosa Beach, CA. And by descended, I of course mean they brought a bunch of fans, a Jumbotron, some NBC play-by-play announcers and the Goodyear blimp. The cool part is no one was in on it except the commissioner of the league. Currently owned by another throwback brand, Pabst Brewing Co., they’re releasing a classic formula called “Classic 1960s Formula” in bottles in select markets. According to an article in today’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “…Pabst is selling bottled Schlitz as a sudsy comfort food for men in their 50s and early 60s. Security guard fired for securing
2008-04-07 05:18:00 How retarded is this! Dean Babcock, a TARGET security guard in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin was fired recently for busting a 16 year old girl for shoplifting alcohol from the store. I would say alleged, but he caught her not once, but twice, and had video evidence on top of it. But because he was but an underling, they fired his ass. That makes perfect sense. 2008-03-07 16:14:00 As a kid growing up in the Milwaukee area in the 70s there were several things that were icons of my childhood - JicJac Soda, Leon’s custard and candy raisins are three that jump to mind. Leon’s is still hanging in there, but JicJac is gone and now, candy raisins are threatened with extinction. Background - Candy Raisins are a strange little nugget. They are a translucent, honey colored candy similar in shape to a jujube. They have the texture of a Soft Gummi and a unique flavor. The best I can describe their flavor is a light ginger taste. You find them in bulk candy stores and in the retail packaging above. Candy Raisins were originally manufactured by three companies: American Candy Company, the Ziegler Candy Company and the Haase Candy Company. Stark Candy Company began making its own version of the Candy Raisins in the early 1970s. To date, Stark of Necco Candy Company is the only company still manufacturing this juju candy.
