Man killed by blue sky lightning
2007-06-24 03:11:00 Beautiful Blue Skies… of DEATH!!! There are lots of things we must fear in nature: sharks, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, bears, hurricanes, icebergs, etc. Add to that list the seemingly innocuous blue sky. Your contacts are safe with us
2007-06-07 06:33:00 ed. note: in the interest of full disclosure…author works for U.S. Cellular. If you’re like most folks today, you can’t be bothered with remembering people’s phone numbers. That’s why cellphones come with a capacity for at least 300 contacts. And, if you were ever to lose those contacts, you’d be S.O.L. In the last couple weeks, regional cell phone company U.S. Cellular launched a pretty slick little application to ease your troubled mind. It’s called My Contacts Backup, and it backs up your contacts to a website. That’s not the unique part. It’s different because a) they don’t charge extra for it (assuming you have data capabilities on your phone) and b) if your phone is ever lost or stolen, you can zap it so that your contacts don’t fall into nefarious hands. Then, when you get a new phone, you can download them and be on your merry way. Plus, the My Contacts Backup Web site allows you to view, manage, edit a... More About: Safe , With U
Ian… FREEZE!
2007-06-06 18:50:00 For those of you who prepare for the worst, and believe Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park book/movie and will not purchase a vehicle that goes under 45 mph to make sure you can out run a T-Rex… prepare to breath a sigh of relief and break out those old school roller skates, because we have new information for you. The Tyrannosaurus rex did not run at 45 mph. In fact, that 13,000 to 17,000 lb. dino could probably only run at 25 mph max according to LiveScience.com. I could run that as a child in crappy shoes on gravel. On top of that, due to that bipedal monstrosity’s center of balance he also has turning issues! So, your safe… unless your morbidly obese and can’t move very fast… then your screwed… and lunch. Why stand still and hope the beast walks by, when you can hop on your bike and pedal away into the sunset as the beast behind you trots along… oh, flip him the bird while your at it, because that would be cool… and i... Get back in your bubble!
2007-06-06 15:35:00 No one is safe from “crazy” people. the title of ‘mentally unstable’ is being used by the Vatican spokesman to describe the man (well, Mental imbalance, was the quote). Well… he was wearing pink… A (how would someone describe this person?) fanatic person along the driving path of the Pope decided it would be worth the trouble to leap over the barricades and try and crawl into the open air popemobile with the pope. He almost made it too, before being detained by about 8 security guards in spiffy suits. Stuff like this is a major concern for the Vatican of course. People will remember when Pope John Paul II was shot in 1981 (well, I don’t since I was a little too young to care) and this can only make people think of the worst, even if all people who are let into St. Peter’s Square are checked with metal detectors and possibly searched. End of an Era in TV
2007-06-06 15:23:00 Bob Barker and the Price is Right will be taping their last show today. Bob has been hosting the show for 35 years. There have been spinoffs and they have tried using other hosts, but nothing came close to Bob and his show. Most of us grew up with the Price is Right, with all its 70’s technology and design. Even I was at a live taping of the show about a year ago. It has become something of a popular culture icon over time. In high school I was attending a One Act festival at UW Whitewater, wait, maybe it was a Jazz festival… Anyway, During lunch in the cafeteria Price is Right was playing. They had all the people spinning the wheel win big. I was the first to be overboard excited about it… but once others understood why I was excited, oddly enough almost the whole place got into it. That was the power of Bob and his show. I hope, to all that is holy, that the Price is Right will be put to rest after this. Yahoo! News says that Barker’s replacement...
He likes sushi… but how does he feel about Pr0n?
2007-06-05 17:35:00 yeah… I wrote Pr0n… twice now… ugh… Anyway, our lovely friends in Japan have been working their hind ends off trying to create battle androids in disguise of maids for the world and here is evidence. There is a robot that now has facial expression which reacts to words said to him. He knows how to react by basically being an internet whore. He complies searches of the words he recognizes and reacts according to what words are associated with it… So… he likes Sushi… he fears the President… but I would love to see what he thinks about more risquĂ© words. 2007-06-04 15:28:00 Three things are coming from the world of Apple Computers • Apple TV will allow the browsing and viewing of Youtube videos on your television If it’s on iTunes, it’s on your widescreen TV. • Were you one of the people upset that iTunes allows you to only download encrypted music files that are only compatible with iPods? Well, now with iTunes Plus which will allow users to download DRM-free music (non encrypted) for a slightly higher price ($1.29 per song as opposed to the $.99 per song). There is also the ability to upgrade your purchases you have already made for $.30 per song as well. I have heard that EMI is onboard, but I’m not sure about other music publishers. • The new iPhone will launch on June 29th. Big version will be priced $599, and a slightly smaller version for $499. Its a pretty damn cool device, too bad its so expensive. Maybe Cingular will offer one up for free with a new subscription… (err… I mean AT&T… whatev... More About: World
