Good people of the internet, I am looking for your help.  I have finished writing a parenting book and I am trying to decide on a title.  The book, a lot like my blog, is from the point of view of a stay-at-home-dad and entertaining as a mo.  Below you will find the top title ideas I came up with.  So, I am just curious to see what everyone else thinks.  What title idea do you like best?  (Subtitles are in parenthesis) Leave a comment and let me know.Dad 2.0 (Parenting Humor, Tips and Insight from a Stay-at-Home Dad)Joeprah: Life as a Stay-at-Home-DadChanging Diapers and the World (Parenting Humor, Tips and Insight from a Stay-at-Home Dad)"Daddy, where's your vagina?" Dad Deal with Miscarriage Too
2009-04-21 23:01:00
I think most people view miscarriages as something that only affects women, I know I did. I didn't let myself grieve or really examine what had happened because everyone rallied around my wife. It wasn't until months had passed that it hit me-like a ton of bricks. We were almost three months along and on a vacation with the family when my wife told me that something wasn't right. It was just before noon when she started to notice blood. We raced home and the doctor sent us to the hospital for an examination and even though there was a lot of "spotting" they weren't overly concerned-we were though. My wife knew something wasn't right and her doctor told her to rest although there was nothing she could do if she was about to have a miscarriage. We Google'd it to death and found little comfort in a similar consensus-if she was about to have a miscarriage there was nothing we could do. That night she felt increasingly more ill and finally had to get in the shower to battle ...

Confessions of a Stay at Home Dad: Part XV
2009-04-12 07:00:00
The one thing about having three kids that is most difficult from a logistical point of view is leaving the house. It is sometimes impossible to get out the door and off to where you need to be on time. To kids it is always a big surprise, “What? We are leaving now?” The thing about having three is that one kid can get lost in the shuffle. When it was just Bella and Mady, I had Bella follow me around while I got Mady ready to go out the door—there were no loose ends. After Sophia came into the picture, it became more and more difficult to keep track of the other two as I took care of Sophia. One common scenario would begin with me getting Sophia’s shoes and coat on and me asking the other two girls to get their shoes and coats on. It is very difficult to watch what each child is doing at this moment and because of this things go wrong. Invariably, as I collected the other two girls and made my way for the door, I would notice that one of the girls had used this brief ...

Confessions of a Stay at Home Dad: Part XIV
2009-03-23 06:00:00
I have heard some dads say that they remember the birth of their first child most vividly, but I can’t say that is the same experience I have had. I remember the birth of all my daughters intensely. As for the birth of Sophia, what I remember most was her stature. She looked a lot more blue-collar then our first two girls. She looked muscular. She even had shoulder hair—dark, weird shoulder hair. Sophia, like our other girls, was absolutely beautiful from day one. She, also like our other girls, was small. Only 5 pounds 15 ounces at birth, Sophia was certainly on the smaller side.

Toddlers can't be bargained with With so many changes to the traditional work environment and with the economy tanking, we are seeing a lot of families make the choice to bring daddy home. So, if you are a dad out there considering becoming a SAHD, I am here to scare you straight. It is tough being a full-time parent. I, personally, think it is more challenging staying home with kids then it is to work. This series is intended to show potential stay at home dads the reality behind the choice to become a full-time parent. The Car Wash: The Dirtiest Mini Van
2008-06-10 12:58:00
I have met many folks who have kids and all but two had issues keeping their cars clean. If you go a week without picking up your car/mini van/SUV you will start to feel crowded. That's not extreme and that's not Joeprah. I like to let things go until I can't concentrate on the road, until the smell is beyond offensive and the source of said smell can't be found. I like to wait until some objects that used to smell are now just petrified former examples of themselves. I like to let things compost a bit in my mini van. So, I put together a video of what can happen to your vehicle as a parent or other wise if you let things accumulate. 4KAp4T6VZF8 If you like this post, rate it and comment it over at BuzzFuse so I can get paid. Summer Give-Aways at Joeprah
2008-06-09 09:24:00
Four Weeks of Give -Aways at Joeprah.com. That’s right, Joeprah.com has partnered with Education.com for the month of June to A) raise awareness of the value of family activities during the summer months and to B) give cool stuff away for free. We both rock. Have you ever been to Education.com? I hadn’t until about two weeks ago, and I have found it is amazingly chock full of great information for parents and educators alike. If you haven’t been there you should swing by and see what I am talking about. For instance, here is a great article on summer work keeping your kids active over the summer months and a way for them to earn extra money (http://www.education.com/magazine/articl e/earning_money_summer_adventure/?page=1) while they are at it. My favorite section is the activity section at Education.com and there are tons of ideas to sift through for you and your family. So, onto the give-away, this week’s give-away is a $40 value. We are giving away...

Saturday comes a little early this week at Joeprah.com. I am leaving for the beach and, before I go, I wanted to share some recent photos taken with my awesome 12.1 Mega Pixel Canon PowerShot G9. Tell me what you think. Isn't the camera amazing? I may suck at taking pictures, but this camera helps even the playing field. Remember all these images are clickable and can be resized without taking you away from the content page. I'm not saying that didn’t happen, it just didn't happen as often as I had envisioned. I think male pride can be a tough pill to swallow, but over the course of over seven years and three daughters I can safely say that I have that sucker almost all the way down. Our first year with Bella saw my wife and I complete our degrees, mine in English Writing and hers in Computer Science, I quit my part-time job in construction for a night job ...

In order to make my blogging life less complicated, I am attempting to streamline Joeprah.com into a scheduled blog of sorts. In the past I would release articles very randomly without any built in timeline. The Worst Height a Child Can Be
2008-06-02 07:38:00
Dads everywhere (http://www.bigbaddaddyrant.com/files/cc2 eb6c48bd42d7becaa6b7348793aa6-12.php) know what I’m talking about when I say that children around the ages of 2-3 reach critical mass in the height department. Once a child reaches “junk” height they become a danger to dads, uncles and granddads alike. The amount of pain they inflict on an adult male can only be described as shocking. Toddlers are the perfect weapon. Why are they the perfect weapon? They have little to no conscienceTheir heads are large in comparison to their bodies thus causing them to lean forward when they runThey run constantlyThey are very difficult to get angry atThey attack without notice Some people think toddlers are cute and I agree—for the most part. But what many people fail to acknowledge is that each toddler has a dark side. Toddlers alone aren’t difficult to handle, but rarely do they inflict mortal damage on a guy’s satchel without an accom...

Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery
2008-06-02 07:25:00
Has anyone noticed the new ad campaign McDonald’s has been running? You know the one on all the billboards and commercials? I’m talking about the Southern- Style Chicken campaign. McDonald’s has just gone nationwide with two new products: The Southern-Style Chicken Sandwich, and the Southern-Style Chicken Biscuit. y0XUgXYxFVI fzSPvYDNyd8 Anyone notice something strange about these products? Do they remind you of another line of products perhaps? What McDonald’s has done here is try to duplicate the incredibly tasty products from Chick-Fil-A. For years Chick-Fil-A has been gobbling up market share in the competitive fast food industry, but now McDonald’s is striking back—albeit with an inferior product. As you can imagine, a huge Chick-Fil-A enthusiast like me would only find these ads to be outrageous. To get answers I went straight to the source—my local Chick-Fil-A. Unfortunately for me, the local Chick-Fil-A is about twenty min...

Equality in Education: Boys > Girls
2008-06-02 00:01:00
It was assumed that men were just better than women at math and science, but a recent study suggests that the lovely ladies are equally equipped to dominate at these subjects. A study (http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2 008-05/msl-btm_1052308.php), led in part by Kellogg School of Management Professor Paola Sapienza looked at over data from over 276,000 students in over 40 countries. What were the results? In a nutshell the study suggest that what we have come to believe about the differences in male and female inherent aptitudes can be discarded. For instance, the data from US schools showed that boys performed nearly 10% better than girls in areas like math and science. That 10% disparity is actually the average gap worldwide between the genders. The study also showed that US girls had to deal with the 23rd ranked GGI (gender gap index). Being 23rd isn't anything to brag about since it placed the US in the lower half of the countries in the study. The GGI is an...

You're Fired: This Teacher Deserves It
2008-05-27 13:20:00
What does a teacher need to do to get fired these days? Well let’s see that this teacher gets the boot. In Port St. Lucie, Florida a kindergarten class, under the direction of their teacher, voted to kick a boy out of their class (http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2008/may/23/s t-lucie-teacher-has-class-vote-whether-5- year-old/). Alex Barton was voted out of the class by a margin of 14-2. The reasons cited for voting Alex out of the class ranged from the fact that he was “annoying” to disgusting. First, kindergartners shouldn’t be doing a Survivor style vote and second, Alex may have Asperger’s. Can anyone say lawsuit? Asperger’s Syndrome is a form of autism, a high-functioning form, but a form nonetheless it would make Alex react differently than the average child in social settings. So what better way to initiate him into our society than vote the poor kid out of his kindergarten class? This just sucks. I'm not sure how those involved i...

3 Tips to Make Your Joomla Site Load Faster
2008-05-27 00:12:00
This post is for Joomla users. If you aren’t a Joomla user, you are going to be all like, “what-the-fudge is this mumbo jumbo?” Basically, this post details how to optimize your Joomla site so that you can make your pages load quicker. Word. Making a Joomla based site faster: First, these tips are for those folks that have a Joomla based website that has dynamic content. In other words, your content changes each time you load your site. Perhaps your site is dynamic because it is set to announce new users online or randomly display images or content. If your site has static content, content that remains the same for long periods of time you should look into an extension geared to help improve your page-load times. Second, these tips are for folks using Joomla 1.0 Native versions. In 1.5 you can apply these techniques; you will simply approach them in the Global Configuration differently. Cache What is it? I Rule: Awards

I think everyone that reads my blog is a super star to some degree. First, they have put up with how quirky it is. Slow page loading times (a thing of the past I hope, see next post) and obnoxious colors--not to mention how stuck on myself (rightly so) I am. So, if you are reading this, take a bow. Now, there are some elite Joeprah followers that not only stomach my daily diatribe, but they actually think it to be noteworthy--so noteworthy in fact, that they have deemed it acceptable to don me with awards. I would like to call these folks Super-Dee-Duper-Stars. First, I got a really cool mention from Penny over at Cafe at the End of the Universe (http://cafeendofuniverse.blogspot.com/), then HuckDoll (http://huckdoll.blogspot.com/), this was followed by Christine at Serenity How (http://serenityhow.com/) recognizing my awesomeness, and, to top it off, not one but two awards. Now, these award givers have crazy good taste and I'm just saying, They're right to acknow...
