Oliver Jufer was arrested last December after drunkenly spray-painting several portraits of the monarch, King Bhumibol Adulyadej. In court, Jufer pleaded guilty to five charges under Thailand's draconian lese majeste law. He is due to be sentenced later this month, and the maximum penalty he could face is 75 years in jail. Jufer's lawyer said the minimum sentence he faced was seven-and-a-half years. 2007-03-11 20:40:00 COOKEVILLE -- Marijuana was being grown -- and sometimes smoked -- in a dormitory at Tennessee Tech, and five students got arrested for it last week, police said. It took place on the fifth floor of Marshall Hall, a floor that has been closed off and unused for some time by order of the State Fire Marshal, TTU officials said. 2007-03-11 16:43:00 NEW YORK - For a moment, the man in the grainy video looks like a good Samaritan holding the door open for an elderly neighbor. Then he turns and delivers three sharp punches to the 101-year-old woman's head. p>"The next thing I knew, I had a big bang on the side of my face," said Rose Morat, who suffered a fractured cheekbone and lost her purse and $33 to the mugger.The attack was captured by a surveillance camera in the lobby of her Queens apartment building last Sunday."I'm quite sure that if it had happened when I was younger, I would have been after him," she said. "I'm a very strong woman. I've been that way my whole life."Police said the same man is believed to have later attacked a second elderly woman in the neighborhood.
