Easter Egg Fight!
2008-03-21 20:04:00 Good Friday is not a good day to decide to buy some Easter Eggs. The massive Tesco's near here had completely sold out by 2pm today - so it was off to the local village shops to see if they had anything left. Here found a selection of Easter Egg s for sale, just at the same time that so did 70 other desperate shoppers. (I guess they'd also been to the local supermarkets as well). After putting some much wanted Easter Eggs into trolley, and old woman reached into the trolley to snatch the eggs that she wanted for herself! Pure chaos, and quite a frightening experience. A bit like the desperate rush for petrol (gas) during the fuel protests of 2001 - but with chocolate eggs instead of fuel! Madness. More About: Fight

Going going gone...
2008-03-18 18:36:00 Credit Crunch Cartoon. ... Here we go. Yet another economic collapse. We had one just before Christmas, and another one in the New Year, and now another one. Will it bounce back? Are we all doomed? Who knows. What I do know is that I'm hoarding all my gold stock share options peps bonds under the floorboards. They'll be safe there!
A Simple Apology (site review)
2008-03-07 14:38:00 I found this interesting cartoon blog with Stumble Upon (how else). It's drawn by Mark Gleim. I love the way it's been drawn and the way the humour somehow manages to be silly and true to life at the same time. It does have what some would consider bad language, but I don't think it's at all out of place in the realms of the topics dealt with, or detracts in anyway from the humour. The drawing is wonderfully loose and always clear. Visit the site: http://www.meatsandfishes.com/apology/ind ex.php and make up your own mind, or just visit it and have faith in my judgement that this is one of the best loosely drawn web comics drawn by someone called Mark, out there. Oh and unlike this shambles of a cartoon blog, this one is updated every Tuesday (mostly). I'm wondering why Tuesdays are such a good day to update, but in my experience it's on this day of the week that I get the most hits. I guess Monday's there's too much work to be done to slack off and surf the web? More About: Review , Site , Simple , Apology
Northern Rock Cartoon
2008-03-05 18:37:00 If I'd not been on a sabbatical over the new year then this is the cartoon I would have drawn. Not exactly cutting edge topical right now, although it's still on going. I just can't believe this on hasn't been done before. As always with these things, drawing this has also given me a much better idea for a Northern Rock cartoon. You'll have to wait a while to see that one. Next cartoon might be about digging holes, but it definitely won't be about fridges. The fridge thing was a little over done. Right, what shall I draw now?
2008-02-26 14:36:00 Fair Trade Sugar Cartoon. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7260211.stm It's been a strange start to the year. Weeks have passed by without any cartoons being drawn to speak of. Don't know why, but I'm guessing it's something to do with allowing other, less interesting things take over my life. Housework, Paid Work, Eating and Making/building flat pack furniture. Some sleep was also involved, but that appears to be given as little consideration to the production of cartoons. I still watch the news, and think "that would make a great cartoon", but somehow I never manage to actually pick up my pens and draw. I suppose I'm just incredibly unmotivated right now, and it's hard to get beyond that. On top of the usual pathetic excuses (for that's what they are) I've also been suffering from several bouts of life threatening 'man flu', which as all male readers of this blog will know is worst than the bubonic plague, and as most female readers will know as 'the sniffles'. So today I... More About: Draw
I'm BACK!
2008-02-07 18:22:00 After the longest break from this Blog, at last I've returned with some fresh cartoons. It's been over 2 months since the last update. The biggest surprise has been the number of hits has remained quite stable throughout this time of zero activity! Thanks to those few people who've remained loyal followers through the cartoon famine. Sorry it's not a more spectacular cartoon to kick things off with. I'll be posting up cartoons as often as I can manage to, and also some reviews of other web comics I've found out there. I might even post some of the old photo's I've found when moving house. Interesting times ahead... More About: Back
New Year, New House, New Cartoons.
2007-12-29 06:19:00 As some of you will already be aware, I'm moving house. This is the reason that I've not been able to produce any cartoons since the 3rd December. The cartoons will reappear in late January, early February. I have many ideas for some brand new cartoons. I'd like to thank all those who've supported this blog over the last couple of years, and wish you all a happy and prosperous new year. 2008 is going to be a big year for cartooning. I'm inspired and feeling positive. Amazing how moving to a bigger, better house can do. Improved parking, and having a bath is all I need to produce some stunning cartoons. Of course, for all those new visitors - there's a few hundred cartoons in the archive to keep you amused until the revamp. Here's the last cartoon of 2007: More About: House , New Year , Cartoons , New House , Year
Sudan Ease
2007-12-03 19:29:00 Sudan Teddy Cartoon. Apologies for the lack of cartoons over the last couple of weeks. Two reasons. I've just upgraded the computer, so it's taken a while for that to get sorted out, but moments after doing so, I've also realised that I need to move house. The new computer is fantastic. No longer will I have to struggle with an aging laptop, now I have a machine with enough power to do all I want it to, and best of all a widescreen monitor - which is ideal for Photoshop. Once settled in the new house, the cartoons will continue, but for the time being expect the occasional quick sketch cartoon to appear. More About: Sudan , Ease
Duck Cartoon
2007-11-18 23:19:00 This cartoon idea was developed with Sam, the guest cartoonist from last week. It's puntastic, of course, but I don't have that category any longer since slimming down the daft amount of labels I once had on here. So it's labeled as a plain old gag cartoon. Kettles can kill...
2007-11-16 16:46:00 Fridays are now the day each week that the Hermanshire strip appears on this Blog. Gives me time to churn them out, and gives you the reader some idea of when they will appear. I'm still waiting for at least one suggestion for the characters names, although it might be fun to not give them any names. A little tricky with some of the dialog, but I suppose it protects the guilty if I don't bother. ... If you like this, please stumble - if not please let me know :-) More About: Kill

Estate Agent Cartoon
2007-11-10 19:11:00 Oh dear. It looks like the much despised Estate Agent s of this country are now struggling to make a living. What with interest rates and repossessions on the increase, people just don't seem to want to buy houses right now. When the oil runs out, will they be joined by that other hated figure in society, the used car salesman? More About: Cartoon , Gent
CCGB Forum Comic Jam
2007-11-09 19:07:00 CLICK TO ENLARGE. ... Recently I was fortunate to be involved in a Comic Jam, over on the CCGB forum. How it worked was that each cartoonist drew one panel, only seeing the previous panel in the strip. My panel is the second one. I'm amazed how well this all came together. Congratulations, and credit to all involved (in order of appearance): BREN, CLANGERS, IAN, STEVE, SHUB, ROYSTON, ALEX, NIGEL, NOEL, MATT, BRENDAN, AND CLIB. A special mention to Bren and Ian for organising all this. More About: Forum
I'm a Celebrity Cartoon
2007-11-09 01:00:00 This one might need some explaining for non British visitors. Google can help you here. For the rest of you (i.e. Brits) enjoy. Just seen the new completed CCGB comic jam that I was lucky enough to take part in. I'm thinking of posting it on here soon. It'll save me having to draw 12 comic panels myself - and it's turned out quite brilliant. More About: Cartoon , Celebrity

Evil Clutter Fairy.
2007-10-30 22:55:00 Clutter Fairy Cartoon. As all the best ideas, this is inspired by real life. Just had a massive clear out at home. It's this evil fairy that created the years of collected clutter, but she has been banished from this house. 70% of useless clutter has been disposed of, and it feels great. I have new trousers I didn't even know I had! More About: Evil , Clutter
Hermanshire 2
More articles from this author:2007-10-28 01:45:00 Well here is Strip 2 as I didn't promise within 2 days of the first one appearing. This one is a little more polished, as Fridays Strip was a cartoonists in joke, as I'm sure most of you realized. Loads of idea floating around this one, so keep tuned to see what crazy adventures they get up to next. The one thing you can be certain of, it won't involve horses, as I cannot draw them, but ANYTHING else could pop up here. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 |
