Led Zep stars join Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters were joined onstage by members of Led Zeppelin as they wrapped up their second night at Wembley Stadium. Guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones teamed up with Dave Grohl and his band for Zeppelin classics Rock and Roll and Ramble On. The collaboration was Zeppelin’s first appearance since the band played a one-off gig in December 2007. Firefighter stops at Burger King before saving woman

An Austin, Texas, firefighter has been fired after he made a pit stop at Burger King before responding to an emergency call from a 77-year-old woman in respiratory failure. Michael Pooler’s snack attack postponed the Austin Fire Department’s emergency response by approximately two minutes and resulted in his termination by Fire Chief Jim Evans, the Austin American-Statesman reported. In a memo, Evans said the fire crew leader had displayed “a shocking neglect of duty” when he stopped for a bite to eat before responding to the emergency call Jan. 4.

Wyatt Turner is a master concept designer whose first attempt at bike design has come off with flying colors. The Battle AX Concept Bike reveals his insightful technical prowess and mastery over CAD. Though the bike elements in the design itself look a little raw, the concept looks like a good old-fashioned monster bike with overwhelming wheels that overpower the look of the entire bike lending it a lot of muscle while the body of the bike’s structure itself is anything but lean. Though the lack of a powerful handlebar evokes a little bit of anxiety regarding control of the bike itself, the overall design more than satisfies thrill-hungry bike fans with its ruggedness.

Thrown about and buried under rocks by the Sichuan earthquake, they have nevertheless proved resilient in the face of all that nature can throw at them - a metaphor, some hope, for the country itself. Along with refugees, army relief lorries and ambulances, a new fleet of vehicles has begun hitting the streets. On the principle that anything that can be salvaged from the rubble is better than nothing, residents of the earthquake zone have taken to trying to restart cars and vans apparently damaged beyond repair.

Homes in foreclosure top 1 million

More than one million homes are now in foreclosure, the highest rate ever recorded, according to a trade group which warned Thursday that number will continue to climb. The Mortgage Bankers Association’s first quarter report showed that a record 2.5% of all loans being serviced by its members are now in foreclosure, which works out to about 1.1 million homes. That’s up from the 2% of loans, or about 938,000 homes, that were in foreclosure at the end of 2007.

Radiohead held an online contest to remix “Nude” from their album - “In Rainbows” This was quite a difficult task for everybody that entered, as Nude is in 6/8 timing, and 63bpm. India grounds ‘fat’ air hostesses

An India n court has ruled that state-owned airline Air India has the right to prevent its air hostesses from flying for being overweight. The Delhi high court was responding to a case filed by five air hostesses who had been grounded by the airline for being too fat to fly. The air hostesses are expected to appeal against the decision.

TMZ says: Nick Hogan has finally gotten his wish — kinda. He’s not going home to Mama, but Nicky Boy just got transferred out of his solitary cell and will be in a cell with three other juveniles … and a TV. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office tells TMZ the transfer was made as a result of “ongoing assessments of inmate situations.”

A naked Pinson man claiming to be Jesus Christ and George Bush was shot four times with a stun gun by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies this morning after he repeatedly refused to heed their commands. Richard Scott Odell, 30, was treated on the scene by paramedics and taken to the Jefferson County Jail. A motorist called deputies about 4 a.m. to alert them that the man was standing nude in the middle of Alabama 79 at Bradford Road. As the motorist approached the man, he stumbled toward the car and was struck by the car’s mirror, sheriff’s authorities said. The man then ran away.
