Bugatti & Ferrari in 130mph race

The driver of a Bugatti Veyron supercar was nicked by cops after racing a Ferrari on a motorway at 130mph. Startled witnesses said the high-speed chase went on for at least ten minutes, with the cars weaving across all three lanes of the M27. It ended when a pursuing police BMW caught up with the Bugatti, the fastest road car in the world with a top speed of 253mph, and pulled it over.

Dutch man injures posterior in mooning accident

Utrecht police say a 21-year-old Dutch man is recovering after a “mooning” that went horribly wrong. A police statement says the man and two others had run down a street in Utrecht with their pants pulled down in the back “for a joke.” It says that at one point the 21-year-old “pushed his behind against the window of a restaurant” that broke and resulted in “deep wounds to his derriere.”

Designer of Pringles can is buried in his invention

The man who designed the Pringles potato chip packaging system was so proud of his accomplishment that a portion of his ashes has been buried in one of the iconic cans. Fredric J. Baur, of Cincinnati, died May 4 at Vitas Hospice in Cincinnati, his family said. He was 89. Baur’s children said they honored his request to bury him in one of the cans by placing part of his cremated remains in a Pringles container in his grave in suburban Springfield Township.

Most Returned Products Work Fine, Study Says

Only 5 percent of consumer electronics products returned to retailers are malfunctioning–yet many people who return working products think they are broken, a new study indicates. The report by technology consulting and outsourcing firm Accenture pegs the costs of consumer electronics returns in 2007 at $13.8 billion in the United States alone, with return rates ranging from 11 percent to 20 percent, depending on the type of product. This horrifying picture shows the moment a US man apparently drunk and asleep ploughed into cyclists on a bike race – killing one and injuring at least 10 others. Driver Juan Campos, 28, was charged with killing Alejandro Alvarez, 37, along the highway near the US-Mexico border. Authorities said the wreck happened 15 minutes into the 34km race yesterday between Playa Bagdad and Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas.

Briton wins damages for hotel with too many Germans

A British holidaymaker was awarded compensation by a court because there were too many German tourists at the hotel he booked in Greece, newspapers reported Saturday. David Barnish, 47, paid 4,000 pounds (5,100 euros, 8,000 dollars) to take his wife and three daughters to a resort in Kos, but the family were unable to take part in entertainment or children’s activities because they were only organised in the German language, the Daily Telegraph and Sun reported. Barnish sued holiday company Thomson for breach of contract, claiming it had failed to disclose that the Grecotel Park hotel was used almost exclusively by Germans . John Lennon’s sons and widow, Yoko Ono , on Monday lost a battle to block the use of the song “Imagine ” in the documentary “Expelled: No Intelligence allowed.” Ono, her son Sean Ono Lennon, and Julian Lennon, John Lennon’s son from his first marriage, along with privately held publisher EMI Blackwood Music Inc filed suit in April in Manhattan federal court seeking to bar the filmmakers and their distributors from continuing to use “Imagine” in the movie.
