Unasked-for advice and learning things the hard way
2009-03-05 22:34:00

The bullets fly
2009-03-04 22:57:00
Not a very smart observation today ... I'm just bent out of shape at what seems to be a lack of focus from our local and regional police forces here in the Lower Mainland.

Socialist cronies and minutiae-minded morons
2009-02-16 23:31:00
OK, I would like to remind my stunningly large and loyal readership that though I sometimes sound a bit liberal, I am not. I sit in the middle of the spectrum overall, picking bits from both sides of The Great Centrist Divide. I'm kind of libertarian, but I think the Libertarians still have a ways to go before they can be taken seriously; their platform is still shifting too much for my liking.

Communication paradox
2009-02-07 00:46:00
Actually, there's a second paradox here. Telling someone what constitutes good communication is not exactly demonstrating good communication.

Hard to believe that song and those sentiments are six years old already. A musical trip down memory lane?
Meta-thoughts

2009-01-06 00:37:00
The Post Hoc Fallacy is just superstition masquerading as logic.

Grumpy self-interest
2008-12-29 21:47:00
'The worst thing a man can do to himself is to start quietly believing his detractors.' It's hard to stop smiling and start barking--and one definitely needs to remember to choose his battles wisely--but until he learns to protect himself, his path along the high road is forever closed.

More beautiful words
2008-11-27 19:26:00
How can one single line from a 600-year old poem have such a profound effect on me? Geoffrey Chaucer and I have a moment of connection, albeit through our differences.

Back off, varmint!
2008-11-25 00:31:00
Yes, it's not the nicest blog post I've ever made. But I need to protect my daughter from the emotionally irresponsible yobbos until she's old enough to defend herself. I mean, I don't leave her out in the cold and rain, either, do I? So I plan on protecting her as much emotionally as I do physically.

Pantheism ... the other white religion
2008-10-17 21:10:00
This actually started as a response to a message about the Nature of God (yes, there is a pun somewhere in there) on my Mensa forum, but graduated to a justification for killing and eating animals. If so, then gout must be God's revenge on my heathen Pantheistic ideas!
