Online Poker Strategy
2008-05-12 20:44:00 Online poker is one of those great games that is relatively easy to learn, but extremely difficult to master. Some of the challenges to online poker are not even apparent to the player, which makes them that more difficult to overcome. Here are some of the more common ones. Playing Too Many Hands This is a very difficult temptation to resist. There are few other online games where players have to sit around and watch the action. However, for online poker, it is crucial that you are able to wait for a hand. One way players deal with this is by playing a couple of games at once so that they are in action more often, or playing shorthanded games that allows them to loosen their starting hand requirements. Overvaluing Your Hands Partially due to edited television coverage, some players tend to think certain hands are stronger than they really are. Many players are willing to go all the way with pocket aces or even ace king in Texas holdem. While these hands can be very good to go all-... More About: Poker , Strategy , Online , Online Poker

Multi-Table Tournament Strategy
2008-04-19 08:44:00 Playing in MTTs (Multi Table Tournament s) provides an excellent buy-in/likely return ratio. Although the odds of beating out several hundred, or even several thousand opponents drag the equation down, MTT play is still a pretty good EV+ one for an experienced poker player. Getting A Read On The Table
2008-03-26 18:48:00 When playing Poker online, it’s incredibly important to get a read on the table, so you can adjust your play accordingly. The same way we don’t play any hands in the first 3 rounds of an SNG (except premiums), you shouldnt be playing any hands when you first sit down in a cash game either. The reason is that if you get into a pot with someone you have no read on, and you are holding a marginal hand such as top pair no kicker, it is tough to decide what to do. Too many times you will see people sit down in a game, post the BB without waiting, and get involved in a pot they never should have played to begin with. This is a good way to go broke. Instead, when you sit down, wait for the BB, and watch what the players at the table are doing. Don’t worry about having to play right away. Let them expose their weaknesses to you through observing them. Then you can take advantage of them when you do start playing. online poker strategy, poker strategy, reading players ... The Cake Poker Sunday Night Tournaments
2008-03-05 01:12:00 OVERLAY: A good bet tournament where the player has an edge over the casino rest of the field. (http://www.gamingtoday.com/Glossary/casi no.cfm) The Cake Poker Sunday Night Tournaments always have an incredible overlay. I played the one this Sunday for a $100+10 buy-in (satellites available), with a $75,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool. There are others, but this one is my favorite because the amount of OVERLAY the Cake Poker tournament provides. You start with 3000 chips, and there are usually 700-800 entrants. Almost every single time I have played this, about half the field has been eliminated by the first break. All you have to do is sit tight and wait for a chance to double up. there WILL be a chance. The players on Cake Poker are some of the worst on the internet. Play tight, and solid in the first hour and you will be able to succeed fairly easily. Next time…the middle game. Cake Poker, online poker strategy, poker strategy &...

How Good Is Your Shorthanded Play?
2008-02-12 00:01:00 A while ago I talked about playing in shorthanded SNGs, and what a different game it is, and the same is very true for cash games as well. The most popular ring games online are by far the 6-max NL Hold’em Cash Games. For this reason, they seem to be filled with inexperienced players who have no business playing in them due to their ignorance of the differences between 6-max and full ring game play. This is great for players who DO know proper strategy for shorthanded games, because it allows them to fully take advantage of inexperienced players’ mistakes, and profit from it. Many players sit in the 6-max games for the wrong reasons some of which are: They are playing on a short bankroll (This is awful because the swings can be bigger and faster in shorthanded games due to the marginal situations a player is often faced with) They want to play more hands (You have to play more hands in these games or else you won’t get action when you do get a hand, but playi... Shorthanded SNG?s
2008-01-24 20:01:00 Lately I have been getting into the 6-man SNG’s, both regular and turbos. You have to make some serious adjustments when making the move to this ...
Do You Know How To Win SNG?s?
2008-01-13 06:05:00 SNG’s are incredibly poular these days, since the buy in’s span from $.10 all the way up to $1000+. The reason they are so popular is that they are so fun. That is exactly what about 90% of the people who play SNG’s are playing for — FUN. This allows good players to take advantage ...

The Re-Steal
2007-12-26 22:57:00 When playing in SNG’s and multi-table tournaments it is essential to survive long enough to get lucky. How Much to Bet in No Limit Texas Hold?em
