2006-11-17 12:42:02

I had such a moment mmmm 5 minutes ago, wondering what the FARK "Lorem Ipsum dolor sit amet..." was just a random bunch of words, letters and phrases, or if it actually MEANT something. SO for all you guys who often use Lorem Ipsum in demo web pages and stuff, lemme educate you a bit... found this on computing-dictionary.thefreedictionary.co m Lorem ipsum - (Or "greeking") A common piece of text used as mock-content when testing a given page layout or font. The following text is often used:"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetaur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. SQL 2000 SP4 - Error running script: replsys.sql
2006-09-11 20:04:00
For those of you who came across this ma se error while trying to install SQL Server 2000 SP4, here's the solution: Found it at EggheadCafe, and this dude managed to get some help from a techie up in India. His post follows: I had switched the account that SQL Server uses to start and I did this    through the Services MMC. This caused the SQL Server to not listen    properly on LPC(shared memory). Apparently replsys.sql uses this    protocol to communicate with the SQL Server.    1) In the registry, made a backup copy of the LPC key under    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMSSQLS erverMSSQLserverSuperSocketNetLib    2) Then delete the LPC key under    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMSSQLS erverMSSQLserverSuperSocketNetLib    (Disclaimer: I make no guarantees to anyone who messes with the    registry)    3) Using the Services MMC I set the SQL Server startup account ba...

2006-08-22 12:02:00
Found in Weekend ArgusNew driving points system hits the road By Jani Meyer Details of South Africa's tough new measures to remove dangerous drivers from the road by suspending or revoking their licences have been revealed. The new system will be introduced in Pretoria on September 1 and then extended throughout the country. Every driver will be awarded 12 points. If you lose those points through 12 demerits in a year, your licence will be suspended. After three suspensions, your licence will be cancelled. So strict are the new regulations that you could have your driver's licence suspended immediately if, for example: ·  You're caught speeding. ·  You're not wearing a seatbelt. ·  Your car's tail lights are not in working order. ·  You left your licence at home. And in addition to losing your licence, you will be slapped with a stiff fine. National Transport Department official Ndivhuwo Mabaya said each motorist would be allocated 12 points at the be...

Windows Vista gets hacked...hehehe
2006-08-07 13:02:00
sourced from : http://cooltech.iafrica.com/technews/8970 54.htm Windows Vista gets hackedMon, 07 Aug 2006Despite being touted as the most secure version of the Windows operating series, Microsoft's upcoming Vista has already been hacked at a hackers' conference last week, reports CNET News.com. Microsoft handed out early copies of their new operating system to attendees at the Black Hat hacker conference last week, inviting them to take their best shot at hacking into it. The company hoped to convince the industry that their latest operating system will be the most secure and malware-proof system on the market. The result has been a mixed grill of sorts, with Polish researcher Joanna Rutkowska demonstrating that the security systems in Vista can be sidestepped by using a piece of malicious software that she named "Blue Pill", according to CNET News.com. However, Microsoft wasn't too perturbed by this. "Microsoft is investigating solutions for the final release of Windows Vis...
