Time To Drop Google Adsense ?
2007-11-02 15:32:00 Just been reading an interesting article from BloggingExperiment.com on the reasons why he does not use Google Adsense . To be honest he does have a very good valid argument (and he had been banned as well). As mentioned in my other post about my total earnings to-date. http://www.wypov.com/2007/10/31/149/ ;my Google Adsense totaled = $3.22. I am also using AdBrite and I am now getting a higher click price in relation to the amount of time I have been using them. I am going to replace Google Adsense with AdBrite from now on and I will monitor the difference. Jacking it all in / 3 months results

I have been blogging now for well over three months and to be honest today I feel like jacking it all in. Stats My feed stats are up and down like a fiddlers elbow averaging about 3 with a high of 18 and a low of 4. Alexa = 2,321,070 PageRank = 0 Technorati Rank: 1,644,723 Money GoogleAdsense = $3.22 (all time) Adbrite = off line at time of writing this post WidgetBucks = $25.00 (sign up bonus only) Smorty = $6.00 (pending payment) PPP = $0.00 (waiting for blog approval) TextLinkAds = $0.00 helium.com = $0.20 Total = $34.42 I have been trying to look at other avenues like more blogs, mini sites, adsense articles, ringtones websites, games sites, affiliate websites (shops) The biggest problem is that I also have a full time job and I have to blog, tweak etc in my spare time. Google PageRank is it worth it ? Maybe time to rebel?
2007-10-29 09:09:00 One of the first things I did when I setup this blog was to add a Google PageRank widget in the sidebar, ever since then it has always displayed a ? but today it displayed a 0. I went to double check it at SEOCHAT.com. My blog was a ? as I started it after the last review which I believe was April / May 07. From all the reading I have been going it appears that Google is now updating websites that are outside the USA hence now I have a 0. I know a lot of top bloggers have been hit badly from this new update and are creating a lot of noise about it. One of the ways to get additional income via your blog is to use a service like PayPerPost but the only problem with this is that sponsored posts are usually based upon your PageRank number. So what do you do? Do you start taking more lower payouts to make up the difference and get hit again by Google for having paid links or do you rebel and not use adsense? Its a hard choice to make. wypov.com site down Fatal error: Out of memory
2007-10-26 10:14:00 The wypov.com site has been down for past 12 hours due to a server memory problem I was getting the following error message : "Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 10747904) (tried to allocate 311296 bytes) in /home/mytynesi/public_html/wypov/wp-conte nt/plugins/wp-shopping-cart/languages/EN_ en.php on line 437" I don’t know the reasons for this but I found a couple of links that might explain it. One solution is to change the values in the php.ini file http://wordpress.org/support/topic/121880 ?replies=5 http://tips-scripts.com/?tip=php_ini#tip Another theory is that Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin is responsible. http://thewrecker.net/?p=182 Anyway as you can see I am up and running again but I will keeping a close watch on it. Smorty the PayPerPost What?s Your Point of View ? replacement
2007-10-24 13:41:00 As a followup to my posts about PayPerPost (catchup here: http://www.wypov.com/2007/10/24/payperpos t-ppp-sponsor-review-2/ & http://www.wypov.com/2007/10/23/payperpos t-review/ I have decided to give Smorty a try. Smorty runs along the same lines as PPP but the main difference is that after you have written a post you can link it directly via your smorty admin panel. The PPP system relies on you inserting the link in your post and their system finding it. This could take up to 48 hours to do. With smorty it is linked direct. I can see the benefit of both systems. To insert the link is easier but slower, the Smorty system requires additional work but you know that the link is there and is correct. I see this as a great way to blog for money and the pay out is good. This kind of system also helps you if you get stuck with ideas for what to blog on. 2007-10-24 13:11:00 Just added a new poll plugin got it from http://lesterchan.net/portfolio/programmi ng.php. I know its another thing I have added to the sidebar. II have noticed too that is starting to become a little bit too long, so I am going to change the theme very soon. I have decieded to use a three colum theme so the post colum is wider and I will have two right hand side sidebars. This will be coming soon I promise. I am at the stage of tweaking the theme using WAMP5 on my own computer so I do not have to mess about with the blog on the webserver. I am also trying to determine if the amount of things in the sidebar is slowing down the loading of the blog and if its putting people off from looking around the site. So this this the theme for my first poll. Please use the poll plugin so I can get a better understanding of what you want from the blog. All other ideas welcome. 2007-10-24 09:36:00 Yesterday I posted a review of PayPerPost (PPP), this was done as part of one of their opportunities, however today after looking at my stats and income from this site I found it was $0. One of the ways supposedly to generate income is to add a link at the bottom of each post inviting the reader to click and review the post. Each time someone did this then I would be paid $7.50. To date it equals £0. The hire me referral button has also generated £0. My blog has been registered with them but as of now it has not been approved and I have used them since my blog first started. I noticed this after running CCleaner (Download CCleaner from FileHippo.com) and then going to this blog. To be honest I liked the widget and I have had 5 hits from www.blogcatalog.com, which is not bad for just a couple of days. I do not know if this is due to the widget or from the site itself. Now that I have removed the widget I will see what the impact is. My account says that I am ranked at 37.3 but I have not got a clue in what relation that is to other blogs I could not find out how the score is calculated or what is means on the website itself.
