Getting an Internet connection is becoming hard in Bangalore. One easiest way to get it is using your mobile phone as a modem.Why I call this "easiest" is internet connection gets activated instantly. You need to have a mobile phone that has data connectivity to PC or Laptop & data cable to connect that. Airtel offers four tariff plans to choose from:399 plan: Rs.399/Month, 100MB Transfer,10 paisa for extra 10kbs.599 plan: Rs.599/Month, 1 GB Transfer, 10 paisa for extra 10kbs.799 plan: Rs.799/Month, 1.5 GB Transfer, 10 paisa for extra 10kbs.140 plan: Rs.140/week, Unlimited usage.My pick among these plans is 140 plan, since it has unlimited usage & cheap compare to other plans. It will become Rs.560 if you use it for a month. All plans will come with speed up to 40kbps.Just call customer care at 121 to avail this service.

After losing my cell phone (Nokia 6030), I opted for Nokia 2626. Yet another basic value for money handset. Yesterday evening as usual I left my office & went to bus stop to catch bus.Normally I will not go for crowded bus,but after waiting for 20-25 minutes also I didn't got any bus. Situation made me to go in a crowded bus.I managed to get into center of bus piercing through people on foot board. When my stop was near I started moving towards foot board to get down. When I was about to get down, somebody accidentally took my specs off with his hands. I was not able to find where it went in that crowded bus. After few seconds a person who was standing far away from me started screeming "Yaardri e kannadka?"(who's specs is this?). I was wonder how my specs moved into hand of a person who is standing far away from me. I didn't bothered too much on that since I got my specs back. Removing Operator Logo

Operator logo will be displayed on the mobile screen.By default it will show operator name ex: Airtel, Hutch..etc. You can display other images or text as operator logo instead of name of operator by installing new logo. There are many web sites providing operator logos, just google it.But what I tend to explain here is removing logo part completely. You might have experienced a problem while using any celebrity wallpapers on your mobile, where logo displayed almost on face of celebrity which is disturbing. You can remove operator logo by installing a blank logo. From your mobile wap browser goto address http://victorynet.de/wap/betreiberlogos.w ml and install blank logo. Now goto your phones display settings & check for "Operator Logo " option, set operator logo ON. It makes blank logo as on & displays nothing. If you make it OFF, operator name will be displayed.

Everyone knows Gmail has launched its mobile version many months back.Unfortunately itsnot working on many mobiles in India.In my Nokia 6030 handset with "Airtel Online" GPRS connection it shows error as "Secure connection not available".I don't know whether it may work on other handsets or connection.But still there is a way to access gmail on your mobile. Point your phone browser to http://gmobile.sayni.net & login to gmail!This is a wap site which provides gmail mobile feature & is not official gmail mobile.You can see only text of the email.You cant access attachments & pictures in a mail.It almost works on any GPRS enabled handset world wide.Requirements:1) GPRS enabled handset.2) Active GPRS connection. In previous post I described about Free GPRS in Airtel . Now let see how to activate paid GPRScalled as "Airtel Online". As i described in previous post free GPRS allows you to browse only limited sites. In this account you can browse any web pages in world.Although you can browse all web pages, only WAP* web pages are compatible on all GPRS enabled phone. Other web pages loads very slowly & displayed incorrectly on your mobile since they are high on size. If you are huge downloader of GPRS content like wallpapers, ringtones...etc, Then this paid account is better.You can search for free content using google search on your mobile.Since there are many wap sites which provides free mobile stuff.This service is charged 99/month.Activation:1) Send SMS as AO ACTV to 222. Other procedures follows same as Free GPRS.2) To cancel this service SMS AO CNCL to 222.There is no activation charges for this service.*WAP means web pages made only for mobile devices.Normally it will be wml format.

I have seen many using GPRS enabled handset but don't know how to activate GPRS. Nokia's N-Series still continues to pour out more juicy players. This time around the company has just increased the stakes by pushing the N91 capacity to 8 GB from the current4 GB. The phone will have the much needed features like A2DP support. The rest of the phone will remain the same. Nokia has also stabilized its music phone's software. The odd part is that though the phone supports A2DP, there is a question of it giving full support to stereo Bluetooth headsets. The upgraded N91 will be priced around $700 (Rs. 32,200) and will be released in the markets by the end of October.
