About the new look
2006-11-27 13:57:00 All returning visitors might have noticed the new look of my blog.So, the reason for this is Google Analytics which tells me about my blog visitors, how people interact with my blog etc. i.e. a complete site analysis. I've changed the template coz,To make the blog load faster coz the no of Dialup visitors is increasing significantly. Currently its 15.75%. Also, 18.04% of visitors were not having flash installed on their system (as the previous template requires flash) I liked this template and wanted a change.. My Blog statistics in more detail is available here.So, thanks for visiting and do visit again!Recently, a crazy idea struck in my mind i.e. How if I can use Google Analytics for my orkut profile! coz currently only 5 recent profile visitors are shown. 2006-11-25 20:47:00 Well, I am back from home...Before all these on 16th, the 5th sem final exams went over and now no more routine exams in life... this ends up mugging notes (mostly prepared by girls) in lossy compression technique and vomit them all in the answer paper next day. In between, my bro took my computer to b'lore saying he needs it now. That's too the reason for delay in writing next post. So, after the exam just packed my bag in half an hour (mostly with the dirty clothes) and left for home... On reaching my hometown, I found road conditions have degraded in last 6 months... when I reached at home found that even electricity supply is discontinuous nowadays and it seems that things are going to worsen in future and to add on, discovered that TV has also gone dead. When I tried to watch TV on the spare portable B&W TV (some limited channels come on it) the channel knob broke and came into my hand. 2006-11-04 14:40:00 Few days back, my friend Vishnu’s mother called him from Mumbai saying that something went wrong in the computer and she is not able to log in to her Yahoo Mail… When he asked what the error message is, she told… nothing but some one is just jumping on a ball... and it’s not going beyond it.On hearing this we all burst into laughter…and later asked her to switch back to normal yahoo mail from the beta.Even me and my friends have switched back to normal yahoo mail and hotmail look from their respective beta coz of slow speed. No offence, but they are nowhere compared to Gmail in terms of speed and features (Gmail uses the most complicated AJAX implementation and yet so simple and fast. Diwali holidays
2006-10-23 11:26:00 Diwali holidays are going on. Most of the people have gone either to B’lore, Chennai or some other places... and the rest are enjoying uninterrupted movie and sleep. On Diwali evening, some students organized a small puja in the hostel... So we lit the hostel with diyas… and after Aarti I along with my friends went outside for dinner.Outside the hostel people enjoyed the fireworks specially launching rockets towards girls’ hostel. I called my friend Saurav and found, except me all my gang was at my hometown… He said its 2½ years that we have not met… your face might have changed. I replied... ya, but more importantly heart should not change. On Sunday they went to my home to meet my parents. The internet subscription at home has expired else would have asked them for a video chat.Before all these, on Friday I went to watch first day first show… DON. Access Internet with Nokia 6020+DKU-5
2006-10-12 21:29:00 Many people might have faced problem while trying to access internet with Nokia 6020 + DKU-5 cable. Nokia PC Suite 6.6 detects the phone but fails to recognize the modem when dialing.Even the Nokia website says DKU-5 cable is not meant for Nokia 6020 and it requires CA-42 cable. (details)So, we are left with only two options:-1. Go for CA-42 cable or2. Use IrDA adapter (like me using Mobile Action MA-620 IrDA, )But recently, I just played with Windows Registry (Windows XP) for some time and discovered that Intern et can be accessed through DKU-5 cable... and even PC Suite is not required.So, here is the detailed procedure to do the same.
