Guess who's coming to dinner next month.Not only is the fair Ms. Monheit coming to the OC on 17 June, but she's going to be performing at a little club called the Coach House, which is just a scant fifteen minutes from my house.Yes, I have already purchased my tickets. Tumbled Into It

I've been looking for a good way to integrate all my stuff into one proper feed, and I think I may have bumped into it by accident. Some time ago, I signed up for a Tumblr account and then promptly forgot about it.Today in his Bad Signal mailing, Warren Ellis was talking about his account there (and some Twitter stuff, too) and that's when I remembered that I had one of my own. I've since updated the feeds going into it and gave it a minimalist look.Why do it? Because, as much as I love this site with all of the buttons and widgets, it can be a bit cumbersome to load, and I am hesitant to pare it down any further. So, if you really must see the totality of what I do on the web (which isn't much, but I do it with style and vigor) but would rather not have Firefox get the cramps every time you come here, I have a Tumblr page that might suit you better.At least, until I figure out what the hell I'm doing.technorati tags: tumblr

Once again, terminally bored. The no-coffee experiment yesterday left me with a major headache this morning. Things looked slightly more interesting during lunch when the following things all happened in the span of an hour.Some crazy driver decided to reenact the chase scene from TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA on El Toro Road.I finally got the haircut I so desperately needed, only to find that the place was cash only and I only had a five in my wallet. Had to run across the street to the grocery store and get some cash. Still, the haircut was done in record time (seven minutes!) and my head feels fifty pounds lighter.Joel reports that the sonagram that would tell the world whether we should buy blue or pink booties for his and Ruth's impending bundle of joy was cut short by the doctor being called away for an emergency C-section. I'm bored today. Not doing too much blogging today. I think I'll just read some of the dozens of books that recently showed up at my door recently. I recently got my hands on some of the Jack McKinney ROBOTECH books and Eric Boehlert's LAPDOGS, so I'll probably finish those off this weekend.Going to Casual Male after work to pick up a pair of swimming trunks. The last pair I had got left behind somehow in Baja four years ago, and I honestly had the opportunity to get another pair, as I didn't much care for swimming in the rivers and lakes around Luling, and the apartments I now find myself have a nice-sized pool in which I want to avail myself.In the meantime, a picture of people who no doubt look far better in swimwear than I doand a video of better times.
